About the author

Katie Wyatt is 25% American Sioux Indian. Born and raised in Arizona, she has traveled and camped extensively through California, Arizona, Nevada, Mexico, and New Mexico. Looking at the incredible night sky and the giant Saguaro cacti, she has dreamed of what it would be like to live in the early pioneer times.
Spending time with a relative of the great Wyatt Earp, also named Wyatt Earp, Katie was mesmerized and inspired by the stories he told of bygone times. This historical interest in the old West became the inspiration for her Western romance novels.
Her books are a mixture of actual historical facts and events mixed with action and humor, challenges and adventures. The characters in Katie’s clean romance novels draw from her own experiences and are so real that they almost jump off the pages. You feel like you’re walking beside them through all the ups and downs of their lives. As the stories unfold, you’ll find yourself both laughing and crying. The endings will never fail to leave you feeling warm inside.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2024Summer with a secret escapes out west to try her luck as a mail-order bride. Met by a past Civil War officer and now US Marshal/rancher, unfortunately after getting married, a tornado totally upends them. But when her secret is revealed, will it make a difference in their new relationship? Was drawn in by the description of the tornado and its effect on them, but felt somewhat unfulfilled by the quick and sudden ending of the book. However, it's a good sweet and clean bedtime read for those who enjoy this genre.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2015This isn't a full-length book so just be prepared for the start of a story and then an epilogue. I was really surprised by this and not exactly pleased. I'm fine with teaser stories to start a series, but this isn't that. it's just the incredibly abbreviated story of one couple. Meh. The characters are intriguing and the story is certainly an exciting one, but it's disconcerting to read what is essentially their meeting and first few days and then their happily ever after. I'm not really sure why the author chose to do it this way. I liked the characters and was totally invested in them when it just screeched to a halt. It's well written and sweet, but disappointing over all. She has more in this series and they all seem to be about the same length so I don' t think I'll be buying any more.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2017Wonderfully well written by someone who understands people, their emotions; descriptions that allow you to see them, understand them, be in their heads, touch & feel with them. Who knows every heart tearing breath of fear & the elation of living through it.
In a true short form, you met Summer & Beau, you "knew" them. My word, you went through a tornado with them, you set a compound fractured leg, walked fifteen miles, knowing full well, you could, because you had to.
Then, you knew " the rest of the story," enough to set your mind at ease, Summer & Beau would do well, they were frontier survivors,. They were the grit & strength that made America strong. You are glad to have met them & though briefly, been a part of their lives.
Great Read. Enjoy this one.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2015I had not read a Katie Wyatt book before but I will in the future. The brides always come by mail with some type of problem and they are meet by someone with other problems. This story placed two people, perfect for each other,if they ever could get over their problems and fears. Set in the ending of the civil war, it is a whirl wind of changes between a confederate soldier and a Yankee lady who seeks a husband since both her father and brother were killed in the war. It really was a wonderful Christian love story where both had to seek God to clean up their hate for the war. Forgiveness through God for not trusting like they should had made the book and instrument for cleaning my own heart! Great read! I've start number 2.

>> I chose this book due to its interesting synopsis and intriguing title... I cannot tell a lie, so I must also say my mom told me she thought I would enjoy it. So, going on my own instinct and my mother's advice, I chose this book. It is a quick, easy, interesting, fast-pace read. I enjoyed hearing about Summer's past and how **POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT** how this man stood by her. Together, the couple endure and overcome hardships and challenges, but their love remains strong. "Summer's Fury" is the perfect title for this book. If you want a nice, quick read, this is a book worth considering. Great job Ms Wyatt. #Goodreads
- Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2015I was excited to read a clean romance novel. But I ended up being very disappointed. The only good thing about this book is that I didn't pay for it, and I read it in about 15 minutes.
The writing was terrible. In the first few pages, the author uses the word "idly" several times, which annoyed me. You're writing a short story, for goodness sake, branch out.
"She watched idly", and, "she idly wondered", and, "staring idly out the window", and, "'a storm's brewing', he said idly"...
Then there was the use of "literally".
We still would have believed the story if the author had just said, "the wagon tipped in it's side", rather than, "the wagon literally tipped in it's side". It just seemed like a high school girl was telling the story.
"He literally manhandled her now", and, "he towered over her, literally." And, "the little boy literally dug in his heels."
It became obnoxious!
Sorry, but there was no depth to this story, only a good idea that never fully developed.
Don't waste your time.

I enjoyed reading this book, my only complaint is that it was too short a story. However, it was still a very interesting story and it was a pleasure to read and I would recommend it.
