From The Darkness: Dragons' House Book 1 (The Dragons' House) Kindle Edition

4.1 4.1 out of 5 stars 69 ratings

Haunted by nightmares of a past he doesn’t remember, Daniel Fenelli is a man of contrasts: distrustful, impulsive, and cold, yet vulnerable, loving and warm. When his adoptive father, Detroit businessman and Mafia don Giuseppe Fenelli informs him about his plans to ally with the powerful crime-fighting organization, the Dragons’ House, Daniel feels both excited — and wary. Tarquin Ballard, a lonely, shy boy, works as the leader of the Dragons’ House’s cyber squad and doesn’t see himself worthy of love. The horrible experiences of his past left deep wounds and a heavy burden on his fragile shoulders When the alliance brings Daniel and Tarquin together, they feel an instant attraction. But as the fire of their passion grows, the secrets of their past threaten to destroy their budding romance — just as dark forces conspire against them. The weight of the secrets surrounding the two men threatens to crush them. Can their love for one another give them the strength to rise above the darkness? This novel is the first installment in the Dragons' House series and it contains elements of mpreg, Mafia romance, and revenge, with a guaranteed HEA. This edition has been re-edited for grammar, punctuation errors and story has not been change drastically from the first edition.

From the Darkness is a suspenseful MM romance, but much more than that. I loved this book, and I highly recommend it. I fell in love with Tarquin and Daniel. They have a rich past as all the characters that pop in. The story unfolds as each bit of information is given while leaving another missing part we need to find out. I was always waiting to see what happened which is why I couldn’t stop reading it.

One of my favorite parts was when the mafia men met to discuss who would take over. With all the characters, you try to guess who it will be. But there are twists and turns until we find who is chosen. Great dialogue.

Then there is this pesky issue of Tarquin and Daniel who had children in the past. There were experiments made and some positive things happen to mend the past as well as some justice for abuses. I’m looking forward to the next book.

This is a story filled with intrigue and plot twists. It is a beautiful love story between two lost souls. Men that have faced the worst of what this world has to offer. Daniel and Tarquin have pasts that they are ashamed of. When they meet, they find the one person who will change their lives. This is a brand new writing duo. I can't wait to see where H.M. WOLFE and E.L. NELSON adventure to next. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!

This Book intrigued me. And it was a lot. I love the story I love the suspense behind the story but the Way it was written didn’t give me the chemistry I needed to form to love the main characters and to feel the love that they felt for each other. It’s just too much going on with too many different characters and it kept jumping all around so you had to read it very carefully or you didn’t know who was talking. I ain’t feel the chemistry between it too I didn’t get enough time with the two to feel that chemistry. Heck I didn’t know what a lot of them were feeling at the time because even their feelings were all over the page. You couldn’t tell who were the good guys and who are the bad guys. I think there’s some paranormal something going on in the background but it never really goes in depth so I’m not sure and I don’t have the spoons right now to read the next book so I guess I’m not gonna find out. The writing was interesting the Smexy was lacking, and too many characters happening at one time to keep up with any of them. I liked the story and that’s why I got the stars that it got but beyond that it just felt messy.

This book is a new twist on old mafia. It also has a house full of young adults with unique gifts. Not,magical gifts, just unique. The love between this couple shows from their first meeting. There's drama, and a plot so evil it's kind boggling. Warning. There is some intense situations in this book. I found it very intriguing.

Do you like MM romance that has suspense, intrigue, and keeps you guessing? Then you need to read From the Darkness! OMG! My head is still swimming. I loved this book, and I highly recommend it. You will completely fall for Tarquin and Daniel. I will admit that my favorite was Tarquin. He was complicated, much like Daniel, and yet there was something about him. He is strong when he doesn't think he is. Shy and a computer geek, but he is so much more than that.

There were times that so much was going on and I felt a little lost, but it was needed because the plot is so complex. From the Darkness is a must read! 4.5 stars and I suggest you one click this book today.

This is only 1 star because I needed to click on something in order to write a response.

I love books and have spent the vast majority of my life reading. As such, I've read great books, good books, fair to middling books, meh books and bad books.....This book was a whole other level...it even had the audacity to be over 500 pages!

Good grief! I would recommend that the two authors spend less time on quantity, and more on quality, because this book was 500+ pages of grade A trash.....I don't think I've ever used those words to describe a book before.

The plot....was there even a plot? Nope! It was a bunch of people, and pointless/irrelevant issues that were endlessly introduced, and two clearly inexperienced writers- who obviously didn't use editors- setting their stream of consciousness to paper; that was it.

Save yourself the time, effort, money, and the headache (I'm not even exaggerating, there's a steady consistent pounding behind my eyes and the side of my head) by bypassing this one, people.

While this book takes time to get into, the reader is rewarded for the patience.
This book, in addition to telling the romance of Daniel and Tarquin also sets up the story arch of the entire series.
I found it initially difficult to get into the story, but found myself immersed into the book and the series.
This book does not have dragons in tge mythical sense, but is a reference to the group associated to many of the characters

I read this so I can tie in the Cowboy books but gosh, so much wrong with it. So many holes in story. Multitude of characters with flimsy motivations and purpose, unbelievable Insta love, laughable Mpreg plotline, only to have just one more bad guy character. Could not finish it and spoiled the Cowboy/Island series for me
