Rose has read her way through countless romances over the years, “borrowing” them from her older sisters, and hiding them from her mother (Mom didn't like the sexy book covers!)

She has a special love for Regency romances and when she began writing, the Regency period was a natural place to start. The ton, the wealthy families, the Season, the dilemmas, and yes, the marriages, have always fascinated her. She loves a happy ever after! Now she is happy to bring this passion to her stories and share it with her readers.

On a personal note, Rose lives in North Carolina, is married, and has a terrier that barks too much. She enjoys taking him for walks to tire him out!

These are clean regency stories that highlight women who were both caring and strong in character. I particularly enjoyed "The Duke's Saving Grace", a little on the line of Beauty and the Beast. The characters were rich, their dilemmas real, and both Mother Superior and Deborah showed strong relationships with God--true portrayals, not merely surface devotion. Refreshing reads!

Rose Pearson's novels never disappoint. This set contained a few typos but none that interfered with the flow and interest of the story. If you enjoy romance with interesting plots, this collection should be on your must-buy list.

    2* The Waiting Bride:
    Confusing details
At outset the reader is shown that Lord galsworthy seems to have fallen in love with Merianne by her letters, then he speaks about not wanting to see her and not knowing about this love and indicating total disinterest. But then suddenly he is super attracted to her, yet still the author indicates he has no desire to talk to her or see her on his return. Is he in love or not??? He would have known word would get out of his return, it was super rude he didn't bother to call on her right away. He seemed pretty stupid as a character.
At the beginning it indicates he was to be gone 1 year, then was able to add another year and then again another year after that. That is 3 years in India. But then on the ship he tells the captain he hadn't been in England for 2 years. Then when at whites it is indicated he's only been gone 1 year. So which is it?
At one moment it sounds as though no one knows of this betrothal but then in the next there is concern that if Merianne walks out with another gentleman the ton knows all about this betrothal. A betrothal is not solidified without the proposal. So often gentlemen continued vying for a girl's interest when others were courting her. This in itself would not ruin her reputation, especially since no one but family new of the betrothal expected.
Then it spoke of his welcome back party as days away but then shortly after it says the dinner is the next day.
One moment his fiance knows he will be back in 2 days, then is surprised to hear he has been back for days and she didn't seem to know, yet her sister had told her already when his ship was expected in. A lot of confusing details that didn’t match.
Details in books must be consistent or the reader is frustrated.
On top of the inconsistencies the characters just seemed stupid or annoyingly obtuse. Then when you discover the other man trying to court her is obsessed and becomes the extreme Villian it just wasn’t an enjoyable read. I hoped it would improve but it didn’t.

    3* The Long return:
This started out with a good plot and concept, but then the Villian became extreme again, and obsessed almost as in the previous story. Then the hero had no backbone and did everything the Villian threatening him asked. When told to not tell anyone, the hero didn’t tell anyone. Really! If someone threatened me or my loved ones, I would talk to someone else obviously there is more protection in numbers, there is no way the villian would have known if he had done so. Then obviously the family could be better protected. The hero acted as if he was a child being bullied and scared to speak. If he just was forthright, then the threats would have been useless. It was just annoying. The hero just seemed stupid again. The story did improve in the end when the heroine finally found out what was going on, though she was a bit obtuse not immediately realizing who was threatening their relationship. So in the end the story was OK.

    4.5* The Dukes saving Grace:
This book was well written and a very enjoyable read. You could feel the characters and see the change in Lord Abernathy. None of the story was annoying or ridiculous. The characters were consistent in their actions, none extremely stupid, just more realistic reactions. No extreme Villian I was happy to discover. The characters grew and drew you into the story. So definitely a well written and worthwhile story. I would recommend the book set for just this story.

3.5* A New home for the duke.
This story was good. Not great but good and enjoyable.
I would say if the hero was in India though, the correspondence supposedly telling him the governess was there and him getting back was not realistic. It would have taken 3 months for correspondence to arrive and then 3 months for him to travel there, but it didn't appear to be that length of time at all. So the time frames of events didn't seem to match. I felt the hero was too extreme in his ignoring his children. I couldn't fathom if he had ever loved his kids he would be that extreme in ignoring them. Then the kids were ridiculously horrible to people and no one required them to behave. But beyond those things the book was a nice read. The story was nice as Jenny was very kind and made a transformation in all in the family. Nice happy endings are always great.

Although diabetics should be careful of the sugary content the stories are well thought out and we'll executed. Author needs to define ' shirk'. It is incorrectly used more than once.
