The Handler (Meet Your Man (Medical Romance): A Series of Standalones Book 3) Kindle Edition

3.9 out of 5 stars 21 ratings

One Woman. Two Brothers. Which will tempt her against her own forbidding will?

I have a condition
No matter how hard I try to explain it
People never understand
Except for one man
He is able to understand everything
And I've appreciated him
Until he decided to introduce me to his brother
Whom I can't stand
Although...
I can't get him out of my head
I can't stop
either of them from occupying my mind
Which means they both need to go
Because they are both insatiably irresistible
And resistance is at the core of who I am.

Just when you thought love was out of reach...

I loved this book! McKenna is a fashion designer who remains in the shadows because of an affliction stemming from trauma that makes her not able to stand being touched or even looked at. Jace is the brother of her best and most devoted employee, Noah (who is not so secretly in love with her, although married) and also her newest assistant in a long line of assistants. He is told not to look at her and never to touch her by his brother but that's just not going to work for him. Can Jace break through her walls while still recovering from his own failed marriage? I have loved this author's writing and have waited for this and any and all upcoming books. I cannot wait for more.

McKenna has had a troubled past. She didn't go out often and like to keep to herself. She looking for a new assistant and Jace is recommended for the job. He immediately likes her and starts pushing her boundaries. They had really good chemistry and this book was fun to read.

I was just checking back, what others write about the book, because I am at 35% and have a really hard time to continue reading.
I find Jace, the hero, so very annoying, that so far in my eyes, only his good looks speak for him.
In the story, there is so much repetition, which does not really bring the story forward. She does not like to be touched or looked at, but then allows it without repercussions, without much of a given reason for this exception. Then her brother blurts the secret of the heroine out at the first meeting with the hero, just to bring the story forward, which I find rather a plump move to get the necessary development into the story. And this makes me not only annoyed with the hero, but also with the brother of the heroine, whose care for the heroine I at this point doubt.
As only the looks speak for the hero so far, and because of his past relationship with his ex-wife he in my opinion is a rather 'toxic' character for the inexperienced heroine, I am really at the fence, if the story is worth to continue reading at the 35% point.
Maybe I will finish it, maybe not. I really do not feel drawn into the story so far.

I wanted to like this book but for me it was a struggle to finish.
The timeline between Jace and McKenna was unrealistic for me.

Wow! Noah works for McKenna in the fashion industry. She needs a new assistant so Noah sends his brother Jace for the job. McKenna has major issues from an early traumatic event. Though Jace has been told he's going to Bush her boundaries. There's lots of emotional moments in this story. It has a great ending!.

This is the third book I've read written by Dani Stowe & Liv Kingstown; I can’t wait to read more of their books.

The story is about McKenna & Jace; both are recovering from their past; her’s was trauma, his was a failed marriage.

This book was sweet, there were a lot of emotions that spanned a spectrum but fear, uncertainty, unrequited love, there was so much going on, some I felt was a little unresolved.
I loved meeting Noah's son, he would be someone I'd love to have as my child. Respectful, yet still acting like a teenager haha.
Jace was our hero who knew McKenna needed to love but also wanted to know the reason why. He pushed her, but he also tried to keep her safely emotionally contained. I love how he immediately comes to care for the ones McKenna is closest to
McKenna has an irrational fear of being around people yet has built a successful company. This shows just how strong she is. When she doesn't allow her internal fears stop her from growing. There were times I'd think she'd be feeling one way or another, but she surprised me.
I'm not too sure what I think about Noah. I think there's so much more to him that wish was brought up more.
I did receive an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I enjoyed this engaging romance a lot! McKenna doesn't touch or liked to be touched or even looked at and keeps out of the public eye. Noah, who is married with kids, is her trusted employee and secret crush. When McKenna needs a new assistant, Noah thinks his brother Jace would be perfect for the job. When they meet, Jace is immediately smitten, exploding into her life and ignoring all her rules about touching and looking. He's determined to be the man who frees her from the narrow confines of her life. This sexy story is funny and sweet and touching. The characters are likable and McKenna and Jace have great chemistry. I loved it.
