Zane Holden hasn’t had the easiest go of things. The only good thing in his life would be Stonewall Investigations, an investigative company he found to work primarily with the LGBTQ community.

Things were ok and Zane was finally healing from a personal tragedy but the reemergence of a serial killer turns his world upside down.

Lorenzo De Luca is a cocky defense attorney dripping in Italian charm. When he picks up a difficult case, he finds that he needs extra help. This leads him to Stonewall, where he meets Zane for the first time and instantly feels himself falling for the mysterious and stone-cut detective.

The two men have their own hangups to work through, but both are having a hard time denying the connection between them, even though they’re trying.

When fate insists on pushing them together, Zane and Enzo give in and start exploring their feelings. They’ll need to balance their budding relationship with the stress of Enzo’s case, which takes them both on a twisting journey toward the truth, all while a bigger threat looms on the horizon.

Five Amazing Stars I was absolutely thrilled to read book 1, Stonewall Investigations . This exciting, adventurous tale of suspenseful fear is by Max Walker. Written so beautifully the amazing and sensual style which I just love and adore! Zane sat at his his office at work to keep warm from the freezing weather outside. Whilst chatting to Andrew, who worked and assisted him as well. They both knew exactly what was about to come. We both feared for ourselves and the others who have ready been viciously attacked. These photos he saw on my desk were all the terrifying memories from my past. It showed these victims who were so violently killed as well. Zane, who started hi business was Crime Investigator. He did this after the murder of his own husband, Jose. Who was so violently killed exactly like this victim was was in this same picture. Zane knew it was up to him find this vicious murderer. He was so lucky to have Andrew working and assisting his progress with these cases. Andrew called this evil man, the Unicorn. Zanes’s next job was to meet up with the Police this afternoon to work on this case. I simply adored this magnificent, most intriguing novel. Such an energetically written book that I couldn’t put down was a complete success. I loved all these endearing characters. Such a sensational and seductive book this truly was and so beautifully written too. Congratulations Max Walker!!! * I recommend this book to everyone!!

    A quick and suspenseful beginning when Zane receives terrifying news that was not exactly a prelude of things to come. Or was it? Zane, a former police detective, left for civilian and his own company where he could do things his way, after he suffered a terrible loss. He has not been able to move on with his life, in fact has no interest in much these days when he hears some stunning news.
    On the same day, he has an appointment with a new client, a rather charismatic, newsworthy and photogenic attorney who has nothing in common with Zane as an individual. Enzo (Lorenzo) brings with him a positive approach to life, and an appreciation for beautiful things, like Zane. Enzo is an inherently, inescapably romantic Italian attorney who works hard and plays every bit as hard.
    Not exactly a suspense, not exactly a crime thriller and not exactly a romance despite enough electric passion to light a city. Max Walker tells a story that is a readers smorgasbord.

    Picture a Film Noir with a twist (a MAN walks into a gay friendly, detective agency), sitting at the desk is a beautiful hunk of manhood, sexy lips, five o'clock shadow, chiseled jaw, lap begging to be sat on. Enzo is so taken with Zane that he ask him out and is shot down.

    Zane is still recovering from the love of his life being murdered by a serial killer several years before. The killer has apparently reemerged. Taking away the peace he has achieved. They meet again when Zanes brother saves Enzo from a crazy person bent on revenge. They spend the night getting acquainted. Tasting a bit of each other for the first time.

    Zane tells himself they are just working together trying to clear Enzo's client. Fighting his attraction is getting harder every time they meet and Enzo isn't making it easier.

    There is peril for our heroes but you know one or the other will save the day.

    Cazzo, (you will have to read the book to see what that means) these guys are really hot. I loved their cheesy lines and their snark. Through the whole book I felt like I was reading a pulp fiction paperback and enjoyed the hell out of it (although I seriously doubt Mike Hammer would of visited the Museum of Sex). This was fun. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

    Zane is a Private Investigator with Stonewall Investigations. His life has been difficult and rocky but working for the firm that handles lgbtq cases, is satisfying.
    Lorenzo is a defense lawyer that goes to Stonewall for help with a case. Enzo and Zane team up to work together but the reemergence of a serial killer from Zane’s past rocks their world into chaos.
    Each of the men have personal issues they need to deal with before they can commit to a relationship but their sexual attraction to each other cannot be ignored.
    Steamy and seductive. Partial cliffhanger for the series.

    🎧 I listened to an audiobook version narrated by Greg Boudreaux who brings his A game as usual to his performance. Drama and anxiety and danger are well presented and make this story breathtaking. In particular because of the Italian accent. I listened to this at 1.5 which is slightly faster than my usual.
