It is not necessary to read any other series before this one. All necessary background on the main character who briefly appears in the Salinity Cove series when she was younger will be given throughout this series.

    Okay so this surprised me and hooked me immediately.
    I have a feeling that this ties into a previous series that covers her brothers and her ‘origin’ story but I followed it fine without it.
    I absolutely loved Jonah. Naughty little author boy. 😘 This has been the second book I’ve read where a main character is an author of romance books and I feel I need more of this trope. Plus add in the twist of their career connections and I’m in heaven.
    I also can’t get enough of how sweet both guys are. Not alpha at all but super sweet and supportive.
    So a rh paranormal romance with a wolf shifter, dragon shifter and a mermaid turned kraken. Magic, shifters, spice and a good shot of action suspense at the end.
    A great start to a fun series and thank god book two is out because that ending has me jumping immediately into book 2.

    I had seen this book show up in my recommended list a few times so I decided to give it a try. It didn’t even dawn on me that this is written in the same world as another set of books that I didn’t finish the third book of.

    I will say the FMC is likable she is just the right amount of independent but also dealing with her insecurities. One of the MMC‘s Jonah I cannot stand. His character is very immature and whiny, and it would be fine if he wasn’t a 29-year-old man. His character annoyed me so much. There were moments where I skipped scenes with him because he was just childish to the point I kept forgetting how old he was he gave off the vibe of being between the years of 18 and 21 and that wasn’t the case.

    All in all it was a decent read. Am I eager to read the next book not so much will I probably.

    just informed that she had 3 years until she
    would be stuck in that form. She is a graphic designer who is working from home on book covers for her favorite author. While at the
    Collition, she met a wolf shifter named Jonah
    who is actually the brother of another wolf
    she knows. Jonah and his brother snuck into a dragon's layer when they were kids and Jonah was thrown and paralyzed from the neck down for 15 years before he was healed but his wolf has never made an appearance in the 2 years. While at dinner, Olivia goes to the bathroom, and Harlow gives her a prophesy that 4 creatures that God's fear along with her
    dagger will keep her from the deep 1) has to
    do with a flame (dragon, which is Lucas) 2)
    one from the sky will catch her. 3) The wild
    one will hold her tight and 4) one from the
    moon will guide her (they assume this will be Jonah). Olivia and Jonah (who was a virgin
    and also a well-known, published romance
    author who people assume is female) decided
    that they would be together and follow her
    shining dagger and see where they land. They
    drive from her home in California and are led to his hometown in Maine. The dagger causes problems, but they meet Lucas, who is a dragon shifter. Things start out bad between them as it was his Mom who hurt Jonah, but they come to realize that he is Olivia's mate. There is another run-in with Harlow warning that on alight night there will be an attack on them and that Olivia must be watchful or two of them will be dead. It ends with them being attacked by gnomes and a 12 foot skeleton, Lucas gets the dagger stuck inside his throat and can't shift back and is too weak to move from his cave other than to shield Jonah. Jonah had to have CPR performed by Lucas and is still unconscious but safe in one of Lucas's caves, and Olivia was left laying next to a lake. Spice level is a solid 3. I can't wait to read the rest of this series!

    What an amazing story to start off a series!! The world building was amazing, and I love how Olivia meets each of the two men who are introduced in this book. I like how we really get to connect and understand the different characters through the multiple POV's as well. So it's not just Olivia's point of view. That helps really create a nice, well-rounded character who is easy to connect with. Understanding their pasts helps us understand who they are now and why they respond to different situations the way they do.
    I also really like how it's not all instant love between everyone who has been introduced so far. There is tension between the guys, though there is definitely a bromance developing.
    This book ended with a cliffhanger right after an amazing action scene and before we even got to meet any of the other men who are to be Olivia's mates, so I can't wait to read the next book!

    Overall, definitely a 5 star read!!!
