Review

Heath is an epic story about obsession and sacrifice. The collaborative effort between K Webster and Nikki Ash is seamless and their interpretation on this classic is a whirlwind offering a range of intense emotion and scorching chemistry. -CC, Crazies R Us Book Blog

A twisted tale of burning love. So intense in heat that it incinerates hearts and bodies. Sets the world on fire. Blackens the soul and creates monsters.
-Shabby, BookBistroBlog

Heath is a book that everyone should read. And I don't think a one-time-read would be enough. I will keep reading this book until the end of the world. Until every world is written into my very existence. Top read of the year!
-Becca, Little Red Reading Hood

It's been a while since a book has made me really want to scream and shout at everyone I know to read it, but this book definitely has me wanted to literally shove it in people's faces and say oh my gawd you need to read this.
-Melissa, Bang Book Blog

This story is dark, it's twisted. It's smexy as hell. It's also beautiful in the way that it shows what true love about.
-Bibliophile Chloe

Ash and Webster didn't recreate
Wuthering Heights, they torched the sucker and brought a whole new perspective on the story Bronte told so many years ago. -Emily Goodman, Southern Vixens Book Obsessions

This book is so AMAZING!! All the feels and then some. You see the power that love has on the characters in the story and how all-consuming it can be.
-Clayre Tower

I expected good, but this went beyond that...it's heading right to the top of my fave reads list! A book unlike anything I've read before.

Heath: An updated classic masterpiece.

Heath: An updated classic masterpiece.
Told against the background of a beloved nanny telling her teenaged charge a story of tragic love for her to learn from, we read a modern retelling of the most tragic love story of all time. Never has there been a greater love, nor a loss experienced so deep that it scarred the lover, turning the man obsessed by the love of his life, into a mad man hell-bent on revenge. Nikki Ash and K. Webster analyse Heath through the eyes of their characters, told in multiple POV as each person is trying to understand just how deep and entrenched within his psyche, that Heath’s love was for Catrina. The fallout for those characters was huge. For me, it was impossible to do anything other than view his despicable and vengeful acts through the eyes of a man so broken by the loss of his true love, his absolute reason for being, that he became a beast hell-bent of destroying those who took her away from him. I wanted to dislike Heath immensely, but I couldn’t. Each time he committed a heinous act, the authors garnered sympathy for him. Even to the final pages, my heart cried for him. For the honest love that should have been his, had the selfish Catrina not chosen money over love, and for when he couldn’t comprehend how it could be when someone actually does choose love over money. Everything that he has worked for, believed in and schemed over is undermined. What is there left for him now? I’m probably in the minority of those who actually hasn’t read the original story, but believe me when I say that as a writing pair, Nikki Ash and K Webster are the dynamic duo who have created an updated classic masterpiece. Congratulations to you both on a fabulous book. 5 Stars.

Before we get into my thoughts about this book, let me first tell you that Heath is a retelling of the Bronte classic, Wuthering Heights, so don’t expect this to be your typical contemporary romance. If you’ve never read Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, take a minute and read a detailed synopsis of it first, so you know what to expect. If it’s been years since you’ve read it, like it has for me, refresh yourself with the synopsis. And if you take a hard line on cheating? Well, go read the same synopsis, because this modern retelling pretty much follows Bronte's storyline. And if you think people weren’t having “relations” out of wedlock in the eighteenth century or using sex as a tool for personal gain, I'm pretty sure that has been happening since time began. Oh, you’ll find some romance here, some of it twisted and self-centered and some that showcases the beauty of true soul mates finding each other, but in modernizing this classic Heath sticks pretty close to the original.

In reading this book, you’ll see many faces and effects of love – possession and obsession, decimation and devastation, euphoria and ecstasy. Heath’s love for Catrina manifests as power, leverage, and revenge but then there is the love between Harrison and Cat with the irresistible pull between the hearts of soul mates. One couple shows how love can break the heart, shatter the soul and fracture the psyche, but with the other we watch as love makes a person into a better version of self than was ever possible without it.

This work is far different from anything I’ve read from either of these authors, and it's one that will stick with me for a very long time. As much as I wanted to hate Heath for his self-centered, willful destruction of lives as a product of his obsessive rage and thirst for revenge, a part of my heart went out to him. In the end he was a sad, pitiful man with a tragically broken heart and an empty existence, only to be reunited with his one true love in the next life. Then we have Cat and Harrison. Oh my heart, these two are everything we want to see from a hero and heroine in an epic story of a love for the ages! They found their missing piece in the other, brought light and color into the other's existence and had a love so deep and powerful it transcended the toughest challenges and the maddest evil. Harrison and Cat are the life-affirming devotion, the dazzling love story, and the spectacular happily ever after every romance novel strives to be.

I can’t begin to tell you how phenomenal this book is. I’m still a bit in shock, having my mind blown by these characters. I would have thought a multi-generational tale would bore me, but I was instantly sucked in as the shackles around my heart grew tighter with each page. Books dubbed as “ugly cry" don’t usually effect me much, but I felt this one to the depths of my soul, so if your emotions are easily evoked, have the tissues handy. This one truly has it all, and more, if that’s even possible. Completely unexpected and beautifully unique, Heath will take you on a journey you will never forget. Drop whatever you’re reading and run to the 1-Click so you can begin experiencing this profound, poignant, exquisite read!

The narrators did a really good job giving the characters a voice and telling this story. Even though I couldn't stand Theo and his annoying whiny voice.

This is a retelling of Wuthering Heights, I never read the classic but may need to read it. This is an interesting, entertaining story told about the love triangle between two generations to the third generation while she is dealing with her own love triangle. This story deals with the choices between love and money, revenge, obsession, deceit, lies and secrets. This is a bit different than I'm used to in a Nikki Ash story but just enjoyed it as the others.

The book was well written and told. My review is about the story and feelings. I've not read WHeights just this story. I struggled reading this book not because it wasn't good it was really good since it got me in my feelings but I struggled because my heart felt for Heath. With everything he did it's sad. I felt bad for HC because he was with him but he got Cat. Theo was annoying. Theo acted like his mother. Cat and HC should of been Heath and Catrina BUT sadly it wasn't so. Helen was annoying lol It's just sad everyone even Elliott found their HEA while Heath was tragedy. Catrina ruined him and he thought money was more than love when he really chose love but she chose money. I wish he found peace living not in death. Ugh really good book that makes you all in your feelings. I'm Team Heath because I wish he could of been chosen or someone fought and saved him. I struggled reading and had to hurry because I didn't like that HE didn't get it and others did not that I don't like HC and Cat...Glad they set the motion so their kid picks love as well. Also again Elliott annoyingly still gets love ughhhh...okkk I'm done. Great read

I don't think I can actually convey what a ride this book took me on. A lot, and I do mean a lot of characters are unlikeable and downright horrid, but this book oozes something that kept me entirely hooked. I can't explain what it is, maybe it's the special magic that comes when both authors write together. But this book won't be for everyone. And I can see why, but for me, I was hooked.
