    I love this story. Not for all the torture that both Rhys & Illianna have to endure, but because of the character flaws they have. I mean who would think an angel would have body image issues? And she doubted and denied that Rhys was her fated mate for quite awhile. Love Zander & Elise's news! I picked up on it with the first hint. I'm pissed at Santiago and hope he goes through some major changes to get back on the right path.

    This is Rhys and Illianna's story. The Triskele Amulet has been taken by the demon Kadir and is on its way to the Ninth Circle of Hell to be used to free Lucifer. The only ones that can travel to Hell and try to retrieve the amulet are those with demon blood. Rhys, Dante, and Kellen (A Tennessee DW) haven't made in any further than the second level, lust, when Rhys sees Illianna working as a slave at one of the sex clubs. She is naked and it is obvious she is an angel, even though her wings have been cut off. Since he was recently accosted by three angels accusing him of having their sister, Rhys knows that he has to get her out of there with them.

    So starts the story of the the trip through the circles of hell. It is soon obvious that Illianna is Rhys' Fated Mate, at least it is to him (with the mate mark and all). As the four make their way through Hell they must not only meet the challenges thrown at them by each leves, but Rhys must convince Illianna that he is her mate. An angel and a demon. Easy, right? Lol.

Dark Warriors Rhys, Dante and Kellen travel through the 9 Circles of hell to retrieve the stolen Triskele Amulet before Lucifer gets it and is released from Hell. Each circle is more horrific and dangerous than the next. During their journey, Rhys meets his Fated Mate, Illianna, an Angel, who was abducted and enslaved in Hell. Although she may be Rhys Fated Mate, an Angel chooses their mate and right now all she wants is to be freed and go back to heaven. Do they complete their mission and retrieve the amuletand? Does Rhys get rejected by his Fated Mate?

Rhys doesn't understand why when he first sees Illiana he gets the feeling that he has to rescue her but when she gives him sustenance in the form of sex he understands as he receives a Mate mark which makes her his Fated Mate. Readers will love how the authors have woven this tale which I thoroughly enjoyed and recommend.

    Really 3.5 stars. I like the premise and the characters of the Dark Warrior Alliance series. Up until this book and the previous novella with Zeke and Tia, I have really enjoyed reading the adventures along with the Rowan triplets adventures. I was looking forward to Rhys' adventure wondering who his mate might be. Well the adventure was good, the mate wonderful, the characters well-described, and the storyline/plot still interesting. However, try as I might I kept getting bogged down in the seemingly more stilted writing style and cliche phrases used by the authors.. (And I will not belabor the endless typos, dropped letters, or just plain wrong words in both books). The dialogue was not stilted and fit the various characters. So why the repetitive stream of consciousness that was so stiff? I even went back and read excerpts from the Rowan sisters books and the first book in the series. Hmm, not anywhere near as sophomoric as these last two novels. I am unsure if I will continue the series due to the above comments, but I do like the characters and the world and the heroes and heroines. I am on the fence. Also be aware both books had lots of pretty graphic sexual content -- not a problem if you like that -- a problem if you want more story than sex.
