HELLISH DEBTS: BROKEN GODS BOOK ONE Kindle Edition
I was just looking for one measly drink to take the edge off.
Nobody could fault me for hitting the bar to find a little extra courage. Witches were tough to deal with anyway and the one I had to go see? Yeah, she might be the craziest of them all.
Except my night went all to hell.
Literally.
I got suckered into a trip to the Hell Plane, ended up with a partial rune burned into my chest and the worst part? The sexy Irishman who just happens to be wearing the exact match to my rune, has managed to disappear before I could get any answers.
Now, I’m stuck repaying a stupid debt, while trying to figure out what my connection to the man means. The deeper I dig, the more questions there are and before I know it, I’m in the fight of my life.
One I might not make it out of.
My name is Raywen James.
Welcome to the shit show.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 9, 2024A lot of books like to say their main character is like the iconic KD, but this is the first book I’ve read in awhile that actually kept me engaged in the way that series did. Ray is very tough and independent and ends up in all these crazy situations but holds her own. She also is really compassionate and protects and helps people who can’t help or defend themselves. This was a quick read and the plot kept moving without a dull moment. There’s also a slow-burn(ish) fated mates subplot for anyone like me who loves a good love story.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2023I feel like this story was "almost there." It had some interesting world building and starts to characters. However, it seemed like the author would refer to people/places/situations like we were midway through a series and should already know what is going on or who the people were. If the author would go back and smooth out some of the breaks in the story it would have been a better read, and a longer book. I liked there descriptions of the things they did take time to explain so I feel like they could do this and not loose any of the pace or action.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2020I'm so glad I decided to read this. It was exciting and suspenseful with a little romance. The world building was creative and unique and the characters were well developed and interesting. Raywen was a strong woman who didn't put up with anything. I enjoyed the chemistry between Dubhlain and Raywen and look forward to seeing their relationship progress in the next book. I can't wait to read more from author.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2020Not sure what the prequel not novels or cities bar but this was very fun – the heroine is very intense and charming and despite a reasonable amount of self doubt she is able to kick ass and a very fun way – and the other people around” and the evil fairy queen is just a lot of fun-but need could’ve done with a lot more character development
- Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2024The story flows well and is hard to put down. The humor scattered throughout is also great. Read it in a Day and starting the 2nd one now!
Thank you for a great escape from everyday life!

5.0 out of 5 stars A journey and a half.
Intriguing, exciting, tangled and, literally, a trip to help and back. A paranormal story with an eclectic band of characters, a touch of humour, a smidgen of romance and a whiff of mystery that weaves together any number of threads. Good characterisation, a fascinating cast, an interesting story line and a well paced story that doesn't want to let you pause for breath makes this a highly recommended read.
