    If you’re looking for an amazingly sweet romance with low-angst that will keep a smile on your face, then look no further.

    There was never a dull moment during this book. I literally fell asleep last night with the kindle in my hand because I didn’t want to put it down. I woke up at 7 this morning still holding the kindle and instantly finished reading the book before going to take my morning pee 😂.

    Ryan and Alec were adorable, likable and hot together. Even the side characters were charming and left me wanting more from all of them.

    The writing was very clear, and straight to the point (which I love). No wasting time with filler sentences just to stretch out the word count.
    Every word written served a purpose. Either to further the story along, add to the characters development or to provide necessary description. Alie does not waste our time with shit we don’t need to know.

    Oh, and there was a nice little tear jerker moment. I ended up crying while reading it this morning 😂.

    I can’t wait for Colton’s book!

    This is the first story I have read by this author. I won a copy from an author's group on fb. The story is well crafted with strong main characters. The secondary characters make me want to read the next book in the series. This was a smooth and enjoyable, cover to cover, read.

    Ryan, a closeted NFL player and Alec, an out British cutie, who knows nothing about American football are the main characters. There is plenty of simmering hot loving along with an interesting storyline that flows smoothly. This is a fun, sweet, low angst read. Enjoy!

    This was a quick, fun, and low-angst football romance. Ryan and Alec has instantaneous chemistry and a connection that built as time passed.

    I love the trope, a celebrity falling for someone who has no idea who they are. There’s an appeal, for someone famous to find someone that makes them feel normal, and loved, and more than what they are famous for. It just tickled me that he lied that Ryan was his favorite player, with no clue he was talking to Ryan. He and Ryan are so happy together. There were times that had me grinning as I read scenes with them together.

    They were such a fun couple, foodfight and all.

    The *cough* romance *cough* scenes were plentiful. If you’re looking for more of that than a drawn out romance, this will hit all your buttons. I just wanted there to be more.

    One scene that stuck with me, and will stick with me for a long time, is when Ryan’s father met Alec. I could sit here and tell you all about it, but I think it’s best experienced by reading it yourself. It was organic, honest, and touching.

    On to book two!

    There are things that this book does that I critique in other stories and I don't care. I had this book borrowed for so long that I should have just bought it. I always knew that I wanted to read it so I didn't return it earlier yet I didn't prioritize reading it. Until a day ago and then I just dove in.

    It had this feel good quality that I'm not consciously seeking in my reads right now, but I am just loving when I find it. Are some points a bit implausible for how magically good everything turns out and the ending a bit oversweet? Yes. And I've criticized a few books for doing that, but it's either so mild here that I don't mind it or I enjoyed the overall story so much that I just don't care about those issues.

    The set-up for the next story is obvious from the beginning with hints about Colton and Coach Conley. I hate when additional stories in a series feel forced into a book, but this was definitely mild and I really want to read that next story so I'm not complaining this time. There are a few grammar issues, but they're so minor I wasn't even sure I was seeing them until the end was nearing and, even then, I didn't highlight anything and honestly cannot remember the one glaring example I'd seen. It was either a missing word or the wrong spelling of a word that threw off the intended meaning of a sentence; that tends to be what catches my eye most often when reading. Again, here, mild and I'm not complaining.

    Ryan and Alec are just so likeable! I was pulled in and rooting for them from their first interaction. Ryan was written very sympatheticly for a closeted public figure. I loved how Alec was written as an American football convert once he started dating Ryan. (Admittedly, because it was so much like my own personal experience way back when I dated a former football player who helped me actually understand the sport despite having grown up watching it with my dad and just cheering against his team because it was such fun to wind him up.)

    I think, in the end, that's why I loved this. It was engaging and relatable to me on a nostalgic and personal level.
