    This may sound like a classic fairytale; a tale that's all too familiar to you, but I guarantee you it is not. His Hollow Heart is the story about choices and consequences; deceit, obsession, and lust. A story about broken promises and shattered dreams.

    Callum and Bella were just kids when they met. He was 10 and she was 7. Both were orphans at Webster Hall who were instantly drawn to each other. In the four years that followed the two developed a bond that went beyond friendship. They became each other's life line. Their connection was strong and they promised to always stay together, but when Bella breaks that promise, she unleashed a darkness in Callum that will haunt him for years to come. A darkness that consumed him and turned him into the monster who is out for revenge.

    Once I started reading this book I could't put it down. Rachel Leigh so brilliantly created this dark and twisted tale that seems to be trapped between a fairytale and a nightmare. It is a perfect place for two characters like Bella and Callum to be caught up in. Even when there is some light casted upon them, Bella and Callum bring a darkness that overshadows any hint of light.

    This book was really hot. The angst between Bella and Callum was intense. There is so much more to their story; truths to be uncovered and secrets to be revealed. That ending left me craving for so much more.

    Got this book recommended to me on my fyp. I saved it in my folder for when I’m looking to switch up books/give a new author a go. Damn this did not disappoint. Tons of spice and great plot line. Cal is the Alpha Male in charge lemme tell you. Bella is one lucky girl, if she knows it or not. The book itself is a super quick read and only took me about 1 day. The main characters are great and you can fully understand their personalities/development throughout the book. The side characters are not as well developed and I find that there were some plot holes or info I felt like I was missing at points. Overall this did not interfere with my feelings of the story, their side characters not that big of a deal. Would highly recommend reading this book! 4.5/5 for me!

    I went into this book with a sense that it was going to be intriguing. The blurb did a good job of captivating the reader while at the same time spinning the imagination into so many possibilities of what the story could entail that it was hard not to want to read it.

    A story of second-chances, young love, betrayal - ohhhh, the intrigue galore!! In this story you add a life of hardships and a history of being abandoned, then you will quickly see how the simple pact 'always stay together, until kingdom come' when broken can change fates. Happiness fades and laughter dies, as only darkness and loneliness remain as the constant friend.

    Years later, Cal has the power after Bella's betrayal to show her how it feels to be powerless. She will be at his mercy now and there's nothing she can do.

    While the story starts off starting there are triggers, I didn't think they were 'real-world' believable due to the story. I know they can happen but . . . It is what it is. The characters were a little too all over the place for me emotion-wise. Cal was dark and brooding one minute and then reverted to the Cal of the past the next. Bella kept demanding that she was a prisoner and hated everything, but secretly was loving it?!? It was unreasonable to me, their interactions and sometimes seemed forced. Overall, the story could use a little more finesse.

    Rachel's books hook me from the beginning, and this one is no different! His Hollow Heart is the first book in the Fallen Kingdom duet; she was not playing around when she said this dark romance would consume you!

    Bella and Cal were inseparable for four years. Both had horrible childhoods; they grew up in foster care together at the Webster House. They were best friends and did everything together.     The sexual tension with Bella and Cal was so hot, and like always, Rachel's spicy scenes melted your panties off!

    Oh my days my heart was so not ready for this book!! I can't even put into words how amazing the story is from 1st page till that very amazing last page in the epilogue I was on the edge of my seat.

    Cal and Bella childhood sweethearts and best friend's met through a children's home they were both placed in for orphans they were each others safe havens and made a promise never to leave each other. Bella broke her promise and sent Cal's life in a trajectory she could never have known but she still played a part in the events that broke him. What does Cal want? Revenge and of course Bella.

    The writing of this story is another level of amazing and the ending I mean cliffhangers kill me and this one was no different I'm just really grateful I just jump right into part 2 because I need all the answers so many answers.

    Rachel Leigh has knocked it out the park with this story absolutely recommend the book and author.

    Firstly, I don’t know if the blurb or the cover is what attracted me to this book. Maybe the cover, it really is gorgeous.

    As for the book, I was invested once I read the prologue. I enjoyed the story of the two and seeing the different paths that their lives took.

    I feel like you can’t talk about one without the other because although they did separate at one time, now their paths have joined once again. Did I guess quite a few things that had happened? Yes. But I was still intrigued by what was going on. I think it was the author’s mystery of “what’s behind the secret door” and “what are they hiding”. So sneaky. You know we had to know.

    I am all about the histories of characters, how they became how they are and how they change and evolve throughout the story. This book gave me all of that. Not really much of a change in the story (yet) but I loved the snippets of the past. As their story continued there was a bit more drama, and the last few chapters were a bit of a emotional roller coaster. I don’t think I’m going to recover from a certain unalive event.

    I love that the author left us with a bit of a mystery at the end and I can’t wait to see how it’s solved.

    His hollow Heart is book one in the fallen kingdom series. I love that Rach gave us both their back stories and how we got dual point of views. Callum and Bella were both in a group home for children and they vowed to be adopted together or not at all until they were separated. Fast forward 12 years and they are both back in each other's lives and this is where the story gets good.

    There is heartache, betrayal, angst, love and lots of intense moments, it ends on a cliffhanger and can't wait to read the next book later this month.
