- Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2018Annie Dyer is a jack of all trades! She can flow effortlessly from contemporary romance to crime thrillers. It’s truly amazing! How Far Away the Stars is the story of convicted serial killer, Marguerite. Its the days leading up to her execution and she meets with FBI profilers to discuss who some of her “victims” were and why she murdered them. “Who was your first victim?” Toner asked, and I knew he has chosen the word victim to get a reaction so I laugh and give him one. “Victim? None of them were victims,” I smiled, remembering the first kill. I don’t dress up what I did, I killed them....told though flashback, and with a bone chilling frankness, Marguerite walks you through her thoughts and reasoning behind why she committed these murders. This novella grabs you from page one and and doesn’t let you go until you read the last words. Bravo Annie on another fantastic read!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2018Do you remember all of them?
“Each and every one. And yes, I still think about them, I still relive what I did like watching a favourite scene from a movie, or looking at a photograph album.”
Annie Dyer gives us the penultimate in crime stories. Slowly but surely allowing Reet to tell her tale, where she started, the power she felt, and the assurance that those she killed were never victims.
So sit back and enjoy what I consider to be in the top 3 books I've read in 2018. And ask yourself is murder always wrong?
- Reviewed in the United States on October 10, 2018This little novella blew me away. It is my most unique read of 2018! I was sucked in from the very first page. So original, so unique to be in the mind of a killer! I am still trying to process its awesomeness.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 10, 2018An exceptional novella of a woman on death row recounting her serial kills. Neither grisly or violent, more a look into the fascinating mind of a woman who ‘maybe’ did the world a favor. Annie Dyer is a new voice in my fave genre of suspense, check her out, start with this one!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 14, 2018I really enjoyed this book. It was well paced, kept my attention, I could envision each scene, not to mention no editing errors. Perfect read for me. This is the first book I read from this author I will check into her other books.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 10, 2018So good! I love serial killers and getting into their heads. I love that she never got caught, but instead turned herself in. Great novella.
