Human Omega: Babied by His Guardian Mates (Pykh Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 1,352 ratings

Sometimes you've just got to flip your big dumb alien onto his stomach and teach him a thing about masculinity.

It’s not how much you’ve got — it’s how you use it.

Finally, everything is going good for Carter. He's not a slave. He has a roof over his head. He's fixed his alien language translator and now can talk to Pykh and Siel, his protectors.

Thankfully, they aren't promiscuous alien hillbillies. They're loyal men who love him, and Carter loves them back. Our space marine is ready to settle into a new life on the fleaf'akhie planet and be happy.

But now there's another problem. On this planet… he's the girl?

And not just any girl, but a pale, delicate, exotic princess who must be bowed to, courted, and entertained with poems.

What's a tough space marine to do, being treated like this?

Setting them straight would be easy, and Carter does come clean to his hopeful fathers to be, but now a golden-armored general brings a carriage to take him away to safety. Carter must play along with the princess act, or he and his new family may be turned away at the gates.

I've enjoyed this whole series, and this book was no exception. Our 3 main characters have built up their relationship over the events of the first books, and now they continue building the emotional connection as they can communicate more clearly. The author's sense of humor is always fun, and all 3 MCs have different but complimentary personalities. I've enjoyed the twist from other alien romances where the aliens are physically different from humans in significant ways, and how the aliens end up almost worshiping their human lover. Also, the communication struggle the MCs go through not knowing each other's languages seems more realistic than aliens with telepathic abilities.

We also spend some time this book learning more about side characters, hopefully for future books in the series. This book had a good balance of action and sweet interludes, and a very satisfying ending - if you haven't started the series yet, I'd definitely recommend picking up the first and reading through, you'll be hooked!

I really love this series. It's probably my favorite M/M/M just because the three characters are so fleshed out and interesting, while also being deeply devoted to each other.

The good? If you like alien/human sci-fi romance series like Lyn Gala's Claimings series, then this is an easy rec. Glass' style is similar where she mixes some very interesting world-building while also including romance (and sexy times.)

The mutual devotion between Carter (the human) and the fleaf'akhie (cat) men Siel and Pykh is...addicting. They're all capable men with their own motivations and histories and are really into each other, which is just nice to read. The cultural differences between them (and even between Siel and Pykh, since Pykh had a different upbringing) are interesting and often funny as they work to sort them out and understand each other. As this is the third book in the series, the conflict is mostly external- the three men and their relationship are not at risk, but there are external risks towards them and their hope for a future together.

The bad? The author definitely needs a copy-editor to pick up errors. There's a bunch throughout. I turned on my "fanfic reading brain" which allows me to slide over them pretty easily. Because I was enjoying the story so much, I pretty much forgive small errors. I would rather have the book with typos than not have it all.

Even with the editing issues, which pushed me to read this with my "fanfic brain", I ADORED this series- I loved the character depth that is explored, the love and devotion that is shared between the main characters, the interesting (and dangerous) world that they live in, and the humor (and sexy times) that often lace their interactions.

Is there Mpreg? Well, the fleaf'akhie society is born out of male pregnancy so, that's the eventual endgame. I'm not a big mpreg reader, but I'll still read the next (and last) book as I just dig the characters and would love to revisit them.

Does this end well? Yes. For the nervous romance reader, this has a solid HFN ending, and could be left as HEA if you don't want to read the next/last section that will include mpreg.

Props to the author for creating such an addicting, thoughtful, and sexy series with wonderful and empathetic characters.

I really did not expect to love this series so much, but I do. All three books have had me so stressed out with everything that's happened. I adore Phyk, Siel, and Carter. They are so unique and so loveable and I just love them.

This third book was great, I enjoyed nearly every aspect except... Auk. I feel kinda bad but I honestly couldn't care less about his POV. He only got interesting after we realized Iethuths real feelings for him, but otherwise I really could have done without his POV. Most the time I just wished for his chapters to be over so I could get back to the other three.

But, Auk's parts weren't annoying enough to make me give this book less than five stars because I still adore it. I cannot wait until book 4 and I can only pray it doesn't take 9 months to be released like with book 2 and 3. I need a conclusion to the story and most of all I need to see (big spoiler)...

5.0 out of 5 stars A fabulous romance

I love all three books in this series. The author takes her time to build a world that is alien and complex while still making sense. The central characters grow as individuals and as a group. Each has their own unique backstory which, while tragic, adds to the overall story. New characters are introduced sensitively and are woven into the whole. This story could be called sci fi however it is at heart about love and striving to overcome an apparently unbeatable foe. I look forward to book four.

5.0 out of 5 stars by far the best book in the series

Loved it Eileen really really perfected her weighting and had just the right amount of spice with great plots, characters, and lore. I feel like we got to really know each character in this book. I have read some MMM romance and it’s usually heavily focused on DP or using the 3rd to save their relationship etc. however, this book series makes it seem natural and it just works. They all have individual relationships with each other and then work as a family together. I really like that. It’s not a couple having a relationship with the 3rd. They are all equal. I like it. I can’t wait for book 4.

When I first started this series on a whim, I did not anticipate how much I would enjoy it... but here I am shipping them, eagerly awaiting the next book in this series ! This has so much dept, the world is rich and interesting, I love the complexity of the story and the politics. Of course I am also a huge fan of our favourite trio of lovers, I just cannot wait for the fourth installment in the series to be out !
I love the alien races, how even though they had difficulties (to put it mildly) communicating it did not stop them from getting attached and making meaningful connections to one another. I love how our main human omega character is this badass takes no bullshit kind of guy ready to defend his men to his last breath.
Read this series, ignore the ugly covers, these books are so much more than their ugly covers !

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read, but perhaps also tried to do too much
Reviewed in Australia on February 16, 2021
Let me start by saying that the title of this book doesn't do it justice. So ignore that, and if you've enjoyed the series to date, give it a go. This book sees Carter and his mates (Siel and Pykh) navigating the politics of the planet, and dealing with other omegas who don't see eye to eye. I liked seeing the different dynamics, and how Carter is adapting to the world. That said, at times it felt like the book tried to do too much and it dragged a little in the middle, especially noticeable given the previous 2 books were well paced and didn't fail to keep my interest. I found myself just wanting more of Carter and his men, the action, than Auk and his dramas. When the battle scene started the pace picked up again and I didn't want it to end, but that middle section was a struggle.

That said, I'm looking forward to the final book in the series. This is a book I'd recommend if you're after a MM alien romance that has a good storyline and isn't just erotica.
