Best Selling Author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer who writes romance in the male/male genre. It's always a surprise to see what's coming next!

Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life - I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations - regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal. I don't want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I'm going to tell you about Kindle.

I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I'll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died - weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn't have to be alone.

That time in my life was terrible. It's everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.

Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness - it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.

Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn't a time she wasn't there for me. We've built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It's its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn't be here today without her.

In the end It's not that Complicated
We first meet Julian Cullen as Tristan Wilder's regular booty call and again as the man Thane Walker regularly spent time with, and had covered all of Julian’s medical bills after Julian had been found badly beaten and abused. As a highly sought after escort, Julian wants nothing more than to get his old life back ”I’m an escort at heart. It’s It’s what comes naturally to me, and I’m damn good at it. I owe it to myself to test the waters.”As the manager of gay nightclub Reservation, Julian does an outstanding job and Thane wants to promote him.In his quest to be who he is, owner of a Survival company Beckett St. Clair, has decided to become a member at Reservations. He meets the beautiful and flamboyant Julian and Beckett is instantly smitten.Learning bits and pieces of Julian's past, Beckett decides that if nothing more he will be Julian's friend.Julian has flashbacks of his accident and with those little bits and pieces his memories of his horrid ordeal come back to him. And Julian realises that all he wants is the comfort of Beckett's arms.Told in dual POV in the third person, alternating between Julian and Beckett, this is a story of dealing with lost, overcoming fear and accepting that they both are worthy of true love.

I think the most important thing I have to say about this book is that you need to have patience. Its a slow-burn romance, sort of. It took me 5 hours to read start to finish, which is an unusually long time for me.

Immediately you know who the main characters are due to them having already met and the 2 alternating points of view. However Julian, (the one with ptsd) is slow to want a relationship because he has never had one. Before his “accident” (his abduction) he was an high-profile Escort and has no experience with romance. The other mc, Beckett, is a bit too perfect of a character but compliments the “damaged” J well. Nevertheless, Beckett is rich, successful and has a heart of gold. He knows J is “the one” and does everything to comfort and convince. Though mostly he is just there when J needs him. B’s love for J is constantly tested because J is focused on himself and his recovery, which includes set backs and steps forward.

Tags; Lots of character development. Eventually becomes Vers around 70% although only a handful of scenes. Standalone. Minor control issues. Money isn’t a matter because they are all rich. Escort. Business management. Business owner. Romance. PTSD and ESA. Drinking Alcohol but no alcoholics.

No truer statement in my opinion about this story! Love can be complicated sometimes. You just have to hang on for the ride. That's what Beckett did and it was worth it. He got Julian to see the light! A wonderful story and I hope to read the next journey in this series!

Julian is quite the character. He has been through a really bad time and has come out the other side jaded. He want us old life back as an escort but is held back by some scars on his body.

Beckett is a gold ol boy, who in Julian’s words is too good for him, and he is right. But Beckett is smitten from the first moment he laid eyes on the beautiful Julian.

They come from way different backgrounds but Beckett is determined to make it work with him. I am only disappointed in the fact that we didn’t get to see how Julian handled being in Becketts universe. And their ending was really abrupt… I didn’t like how it ended.

Kindle Alexander is back in great form. Her latest book gives so much «FEELS»… From the sexy MCs to the chemistry between them, this book is surely going to be another BESTSELLER. Kindle Alexander is one of those Authors that paints with words. Her writing is expressive, current and it allows the reader to feel what her well developed characters are going though. That is the mark of a eloquent storyteller.

I laughed out loud and cried my ugly tears, throughout the entire book. I was elated for Julian' s story, for I remembered him well. Beckett was so perfectly written and I fell in love with him at first glance. The way their story unfolded was brilliantly crafted.

    HAWT HAWT……HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!

Beckett - he has his faults. Maybe? Certainly? I know I spent hours in the pages of this story trying to find them. But he is perfect for the damaged, aloof Julian.

    Prepared to be swooned.

Kindle Alexander’s stories always have warmth of great story telling that wraps you the building of the relationship. These two men are the opposites in every way. Not meant to be on paper to work but they do. Each finds something they aren’t looking for but fits.

It’s a fabulous standalone to read. If you are a fan you’ll love seeing Thane and others pop in and add flavor to the scenes.
    Recommendation: Read it

I really like Kindle Alexander, but this is maybe a 3-3.5 stars read. It was really slow, not much happening. Julian wasn’t very likable. In the other books he appeared in, I really wanted his story, but then I got this. Maybe I would have liked it better if his flashbacks revealed his attacker sooner and Beckett was there for him through a trial and then Julian decided to go back to his old life. I don’t know, I just wasn’t excited while reading this (kind of anticlimactic) and it took me a long time to finish. I did love Beckett though…he seemed like a charming, gentleman and was all heart.

Could us another round of edits. Overall decent read, but didn’t really give me the feels I usually get from Kindle A books.

I want my very own Beckett!!! He was the absolute most sweetest person and I adored how he loved Julian!

My heart broke for Julian in Reservations and I wanted his story sooooo bad! He totally deserved a sweet and gentle man like Beckett after the trauma he went thru. The way Beckett didn’t give up on him no matter what and came running when he knew Julian needed him most…so amazing! I loved the sunshine’s d grumpy trope with these two and it just worked for them.

This as a a sweet story and so much fun. It was well written and each character brought this story together. This book had me wanting to give Julian a big hug while he worked through his issues with his new friend woofer who he has a love hate relationship who really is man's best friend. Beckett is the true hero of the the story as he helps Julian come out of his shell. Kindle did an amazing job with this story and although always will Always be my favorite this one is right up there. So one click this baby, grab your favorite drink (Mines whiskey and coke), your favorite blanket and settle in an enjoy.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too much inner monologue from each character and not much going on in the story.
Reviewed in Germany on December 12, 2021
I was a big fan of Kindle Alexander but after the last three mediocre books I am rethinking my one-click-bying practice. I am very disappointed by this book as well.
I didn't like Julian, his character somehow didn't add up for me: he is said to come from poverty, left his home aged 16, and worked as a call-boy since, making a lot of money - around 3000 dollar per night - for several years. But instead of saving to prevent poverty in future times as smart people would do - and he was around smart businessmen all the time who could have given him good advise how to invest his money - he spent it ALL. How did he do it? He was paid well, even his clothes and I suppose transportation and hotels were covered as well. He was working at night, slept through the day, had to groom and work out to keep his body in shape, when spend the money? (hide spoiler)] Now he got a job thanks to Thane but he behaves like a spoiled child.
Beckett is the über-good-boy, smart, successful, reliable, honest, kind....Julian doesn't treat him well but he stays nevertheless. There were too many boring s.. scenes.
I felt for poor Woofer, a trained support dog who had to suffer a lot, no long walks or plays, just long hours spent on a couch. As a trained dog he wouldn't sleep and just wake up when the door was opened. Two or even three times I read the same sentence: he got to his feet and shook the sleep off his coat. Trained dogs sleep with one ear up and already stand AWAKE behind the door when it's opened.
Several times paragraphs were repetitive, was there no editor?
From the beginning there was just way too much inner monologue from each character and not much going on in the story. It gets tedious at one point when there are pages and pages of what one person is thinking and feeling and the story doesn't move on, Julian is working the bar, Bennett is driving/flying between his survival camp and Coronado, neither experiences something extraordinary.
This book was not my cup of tea.

It's Complicated is the second standalone book in the Reservations series. This book was so good, once I started it I couldn't put it down. I was hooked from the very start and the more I read the more I fell in love with both the story and the main characters Julian and Beckett. This was an emotional and intense 5 star read and one I would definitely recommend.
