- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2021Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseThis is not for English speakers. I thought this would be a good way for an American to learn more about the differences between US English and UK English, but no it's only idioms widely used in both places. Probably really good for English as a Second Language learners though.

5.0 out of 5 stars A leopard can't loose its spots! Il lupo perde il pelo ma non il vizio!
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseIt's so well explained that U can actually enjoy the reading and has a selected number of idioms which are the most common or popular ones! This book has also very useful exercises that can actually help u to learn quickly!
Per i ragazzi italiani, questo libro spiega in modo semplice e molto efficace! È molto divertente, non vi annoierete! Ha una raccolta di "idioms" ben selezionati che secondo me sono i più popolari e usati nella lingua parlata. In passato ho provato a leggere tanti libri, massicci di "idioms"(vecchi e nuovi, in uso e fuori uso), che dopo un po' mi hanno fatto perdere l'interesse! Leggere e studiare deve essere anche un piacere!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for English language learners
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI wanted to see how many I wasn't aware of as a native speaker, and there weren't any, which is great news for people wanting to learn English because almost all of these are very common. In fact, some made me think twice because they were so common and so easily understood that I forgot that they were in fact idioms. It's written very simply, perfectly lending itself to language learners.

3.0 out of 5 stars Beginner level
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI thought learning a few fancy idioms would be another string to my bow.... however: Anyone speaking English for more that a few years will be familiar with most of the idioms in this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars 101 idioms básicos para cualquier estudiante de inglés
Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseEstán divididos en 11 bloques por temática. Después de cada bloque trae dos ejercicios para practicar. Cada idiom viene con un ejemplo, donde te dice como usarlo, su traducción literal y el concepto general de ese idiom. Lo veo básico para cualquier estudiante de inglés. Cosas a mejorar: pondría la traducción o equivalente al español y también una ilustración que lo represente para que sea más visual el libro, ya que así lo veo muy soso. Añadiría más ejercicios para practicar.
