Kate Wise is retired from the FBI as one of their star detectives--and now she is bored. The women who live nearby and who she is friendly with are all stay at home Moms or else have hobbies like crocheting. Not exactly Kate's cup of tea. Then one of her best friends calls her--the friend's daughter has been found murdered--would Kate PLEASE help find out who did it! Then more women are found murdered---- Will Kate be able to figure out who is doing this and why? The ending will shock you--I certainly did not see it coming!!

    It's not entirely the author's fault, things like this just really bug me. Book published 2018. When Kate contacts Logan about an old case from about 10 years prior, he tells her that the murderer is now in jail near Richmond. She says she thought he was in the Lorton Correctional Complex in Fairfax. The last prisoners left Lorton in November 2001. I know this because I lived nearby. My kids played soccer on the field there right around 2005-2006.

    Lorton was actually a DC prison. G. Gordon Liddy was jailed there for 4 years. It is a very cool place, though a little creepy in spots. It was considered for many things. At one time an arts center, it's now a marketplace.

    At any rate, the started removing prisoners from Lorton when legislation was passed in 1997 and I'm pretty sure they didn't send any new ones there after that.

    The book also mentions a crowded population being the reason for the move. Also wrong.

    The history of Lorton is a hell of a story in its own right. Check it out -- fascinating.
