About the author
Elodie Colt is a USA Today bestselling Paranormal & Contemporary Romance author from Austria. When she’s not busy writing books that go beyond run-of-the-mill alpha stories, she spends her time binge-watching the latest Hollywood blockbuster, playing the guitar, or hitting the gym. The fact that German is her mother tongue didn't keep her from giving her dream to publish in English a chance. Whatever she writes, she has one goal - to make you cry, laugh and wet at the same time ;)

- Reviewed in the United States on March 30, 2017I received an Advanced Reviewer Copy of this book and am happy to leave my honest opinion and review. It was fantastic. The premise of the story intrigued me, but the story itself, I can honestly say pulled me in from page one, and kept me turning the pages to see what happened next.
I felt like the futuristic aspect of this story was very realistic. It was subtle, not overdone, which helped add to the realism for me. Then there was the idea that, in the future, the cure for cancer is not without its own side effects, which turn people into virtual, real-life vampires, and not in a sci-fi kind of way. I also found it so believable the way that the agency who created the Cure kept the money coming in, so typical of that industry as we know.
Then there was the romance. My favorite part of any good story, the Romance in this book was just the right amount of build-up. It wasn’t “insta-love.” It took them some time to work up to the good stuff, and the good stuff was very good!
There was a good amount of depth to the characters in this book, especially the main character/heroine who we follow from start to finish. Her past and how it shaped her as a person, I felt was consistent throughout the book, and I felt like there were several things that made her very relatable. I was able to really sympathize with her and like her from the get-go. The stakes were set high immediately, and I was rooting for her to succeed from page one.
I also found the pacing of this story to be just right. There was not a single point in this story that I can remember feeling like it was lagging in any way or wanting to skim over.
Overall, this book is well worth the read. This is a book I can see myself rereading again. Very good work and well-deserving of every one of the 5 stars.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 13, 2019I came across this book while doing a dystopian search on Amazon. The blurb sounded interesting and the reviews were very good.
It started well and hooked me straight away. I did struggle a little with Jordan especially early on.
It’s set in 2078. A future where cancer is rampant but a cure has been found. This cure is expensive and only available to those who can afford it. And it needs to be taken regularly along with the drinking of human blood.
The entire population has to donate blood once a month every month. Unless like Jordan you have a rare blood type and then you have to donate every week. That’s every single week for your entire life.
This was a different read and I have to say I really enjoyed it. It certainly helped that I just loved Aiden Davis.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2018I am 69years old, have 14,000 kindle books, 6,400 audiobooks. I read every day and listened to audiobooks every night. I live through books (sad I know) and my favorite genre is paranormal romance such as J. R. Ward, Larissa Ione, K. F. Beene, Thea Harrison and so on. Why tell you all this, because "TRUST ME" buy and put on Auto buy anything this woman writes.
This was so well written that I never skipped a sentence much less a whole page(we all do it). Ms. Colt grabbed me from page 1. When I finished I went and purchased all of her other books (wish there were more)
Great suspense
Great action
Great romance (not too fast, not too slow).
WELL written steamy sex scenes
Great story line. Nice spin on paranormal romance. HIGHLY recommend this author and am enjoying her other series immensely. Good job Ms. Colt look forward to anything you publish.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2018I’m thankful that this story was a stand-alone, because I could see myself easily going crazy waiting for second a third books to come out. But just the same it was a great read. The characters are likeable, and even though their struggles are ones we don’t currently have in the future, it shows exactly how much control technology will have over us, as well as how much more control the government will have over us in the future, should technology continue to evolve.
I enjoyed the romance, however I wish more time had been spent building it up. It wasn’t as challenging of one as some of the other romantic storylines I’ve read by this author. I’d go as far to say that out of all 6 books I’ve read this romance is probably my least favorite. There just wasn’t enough tension built up, but I guess that’s difficult to do sometimes in a stand-alone novel. Otherwise, I loved it!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 22, 2017Jordan is a sergeant with the NYPD who specializes in rape and murder cases. When her lieutenant retires and the too hot for words Aiden Davis takes his place, everything begins to change. Suddenly Jordan is involved in not one, but two, big cases and Aiden and she are growing closer and closer.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2019Wonderful book, loved it!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2017In Blood We Trust is soo good yall! If you like dystopian futures with suspense and murder and hot af sexy scenes then this ones for you. The characters are real and damaged and just trying to do right and you'll fall in love with them long before they fall in love with each other. The action and suspense as they work not one but two huge cases is edge of your seat good. I caught myself holding my breath more than once as they faced down their perps. I can't say enough good things about this book. Congrats Elodie on knocking it out of the park. I hope you're writing more set in this wonderful world you created. And thank you Indies Ink for the chance to get my hands on this gem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent and Unique
It is now 3.40 am and I've not been able to put this book down. A little too much sex for my liking but it was more than made up for by what was, for me at least, a totally original story line set in dystopian world, which still has too many similarities to the world we live in. Big pharma and rich men's greed never changes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book
Why Amazon insist on 20 words for a review via kindle, I don't know. Especially when I just want to say that I really enjoyed this book.
