Tag Team Partners in the Ring. Secret Lovers Behind the Scenes.

Tré Montgomery loves working with his best friend, Brandon Wilkes. As a professional wrestling tag team, they wow crowds across the country. While Tré craves more from his talented and gorgeous partner, life taught him that confessing his feelings threatens not only friendships, but careers.

Brandon is one of the best when it comes to connecting with an audience of thousands. But when he tries to connect with the only man he truly wants, that ability fizzles out. Hiding his true desires behind a front of playful teasing, he hopes Tré will either catch on or make it clear he’s not interested.

When subtlety fails, Brandon makes a decision that threatens to tear his relationship with Tré apart. If they want to stay together, both men will have to bring the confidence they display in the ring into their private lives. Will they brave the risks to go from tag team partners to lovers? Or is their shot at love destined to go down for the count?

Christa Tomlinson is a pop culture loving, anime watching, nerdy fangirl who loves to read and write romance. She creates stories that are emotional and lovely with intimacy that is integral to the characters’ romantic arc.

Christa grew up reading romance giants Johanna Lindsey, Julie Garwood, and Virgina Henley - thanks to her older sister who gave her her first romance novel many years before she should have been reading such saucy content. Christa's first attempt at writing her own romance novel was in middle school - a historical that will never see the light of day. Since that first attempt, Christa has written many spicy fanfictions of her favorite characters and romances featuring her own hot and gorgeous heroes. Her first self-published romance, The Sergeant, was an Amazon best seller in Gay Romance for seven weeks in a row.

After many years in the sunny warmth of Houston, Texas, Christa has returned home to St. Louis, Missouri. She is a former high school social studies teacher and retired roller derby player. Don't ask her if romance requires an HEA or she'll use her roller derby skills to hip check you.

A friend to lovers story where one has to learn to fight for what he wants and the other must learn to not run away. I enjoyed the writing and the story-line kept me reading. We get to see lots of the back stage world of wrestling and i found it interesting to read about. Really important to understand the wresting world because our MC's are tag team partners and their work really impacts their relationship. .

i really enjoyed watching Tre and Brandon develop their relationship and admit to their love. We saw both me grow and learn as they learned how to love each other. There were some really great scenes in this book, one where one of the guys has to step into the ring to save his partner and he is in his street clothes. I enjoyed how the author used her knowledge of wrestling to make the romance even more run.

Looking forward to the next release and hoping we will get Garrett and Kenji's story soon.

This story stands on its own, but I love rolling right into it after the first story of the series. This hits more serious notes than Chance and Devin's romance and I was surprised by that. Tré and Brandon's story did not play out how I thought it would after the teasers from the first story. They get their happy ending, but the journey to get there had more drama and issues than I anticipated. Part of me likes it somewhat less than the first story, but, ultimately, I love them both in different ways. Both stories bring me back to when I watched WWE but this brought back the dark side of the ring issues that I became aware of as I stopped being a fan. There isn't anything specifically referenced, but it's just the unsavory backbiting and how hard that is on the people in that life. The very sweet scene of the wrestlers donating to Brandon so he could buy out his contract just brought to mind so many real life instances of wrestlers aided by fans and peers when the promotion "employing" them left them high and dry after career ending injury. That coming to my mind took me out of that moment in a way very similar to what happened to Brandon in that chapter so when I say I get him, I mean I GOT HIM. While I want to be aggravated by the drama caused by lack of communication between Brandon and Tré, the author just does such a good job of making it make sense for the characters to do what they do. Their conclusion is very satisfying.

The resolution of the mole plot that ran through both stories was NOT satisfying, though, and does keep this teetering between 4 and 5 stars for me. I'm glad it wasn't anyone that I had suspected but that's because it was a random person thrown in to wrap up that storyline. That that storyline was concluded at all us a credit to the author, though. I've read a lot of books where threads like that are just lost or forgotten so I appreciate that it wasn't left to dangle out there. I would love another story in this series, especially given the teases given about Garrett and Kenji, but it seems unlikely to happen given how long it's been since this book was published. Christa definitely could have held out that mole reveal for that next book that hasn't come and I'm glad that she didn't so I'm happy leaving this a solid 5 star rating.

This felt a little stilted compared to the first book, and it took me longer to feel I understood Brandon. But loved the discussion and attention to their work (especially once Brandon left), the sense of family with the FPW and the cracks in that, the honest discussion of Brandon's issues with sex, and lots of other details. Hope to read more in this world (Garrett/Keiji?).

It kinda put a damper on the story for me. I love this author and was soooo looking forward to this book but I just wasn't feeling it. The chemistry of the first book with C and D was so hawt it burned up my kindle. T and B felt forced, because of B. I skimmed a lot his inner dialogue because he would jump to conclusions and he wouldn't talk to T, the man he was supposed to love. I just felt bad for T having to deal with B being so hot and cold to him when he had only ever been there for B. I am still looking forward to the next book and I love the series (I loved pro wrestling growing up and let's not forget The Rock)! Just disappointed with this one.

I have been waiting on the 2nd book in this series for awhile. I have been also been looking for books with men color. Add me in the wrestling and I am all in. I love the main characters as well as the supporting ones. It had a great storyline and although I want to power drive them both I really enjoyed their hea

    1.0 out of 5 stars It's a hard pass ...😩😩( slight spoiler)

I guess it's my bad because l bought into the macho wrestler theme ....you know ...The rock ....yumm ..so i was probably expecting high energy , sweaty , sexy guys ..an all round muscle fest 😂😂💁🏾💁🏾..Truth be told alpha muscle heads getting it in ...(don't judge me ) 😂😂😂..sorry ...Alas ..it was not meant to be ...as l did get muscular wrestlers but none of the macho or sexy ...it was more whining and muscles (with dash of erectile issues) 🙄...Brandon was annoying , self absorbed and completely needy ...he seemed to be completely oblivious to the reason most people in the Book thought he was shady ...he totally was ..👎🏾👎🏾...the story has sooo many tangents that really didn't tie in to create a fab love story but it really left me with a feeling that he should have really stayed gone ...lastly ..did he really come back for love or the fact that he flopped at GWS???....

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read

I picked up this read after an author I follow said she had read it and enjoyed it. I am glad I did because I loved it.
The two main characters were part of a wrestling group, and even though I don't follow wrestling myself, I found it quite entertaining to read about it.
There were times I just felt like telling Tré and Brandon to pull their heads out of their butts and actually discuss what they are thinking and feeling rather than assume they knew what the other wanted.
I loved the connection between Tré and Brandon and how the wrestling group were like one big family, looking out for one another.
After reading this, I will be checking out more of this author's work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Believable characters, good writing, and very steamy. Love it.

I went into this series knowing absolutely nothing about wrestling, and I've come out of it with a lot more wrestling and a strange desire to suddenly start watching it. Although, lets face it, knowledge isn't why I read this book. The sex scenes are steamy and romantic and Brandon and Tre's relationship as a whole is really believable - they actually have some emotional problems to work out, unlike in some books where everything is all rainbows and sunshine after the initial getting together phase. I definitely recommend this book!
