Smoking hot romance!
Holy smokes...instant heat is totally right for this romance. I am not a big fan of insta love fan, but this story was so believable. I am sure I would fall in love with sexy irish accent Griffin too. Rae is on the rebound from heart break. She meets Griffin and they have what she thinks will be a one night stand. They are both wrong. The instant heat (see? perfect title!) they both feel can't be ignored. But there is an issue. Griffin and her brother are new enemies. Griffin has come into town taking the job her brother wanted. He blames Griffin, but it's really his own temper that is his enemy. Rae might have to chose between love and family. I loved this romance. And talk about steamy! Rae and Griffin are it! Holy smokes! I love that this book was narrated by two narrators I love. They brought the story to life and set my headphones on fire! I loved every minute of it. I did want it to be longer. But it's a series so I can't wait to dive into more. Another romance to obsess over from A.K. MacBride. I swear everything she writes is top shelf.

    This was an love at first sight, new to town trope with an Irish firefighter twist.
    I loved the maturity from Griffin that he tended to think most things through first. I liked that Rae let her brother have the father figure role he needed but was not afraid to stand up to him either. I would like to know what was going on with the seeming to be secret love affair from the other characters. I love when there is real conflict resolution and character growth.
    Loved this book, first read from this author can't wait to see if my questions get answered in the next book!

    My review is written after both readings and listening to the audio version of this book.

    This is my first book by this author I downloaded the ebook and started reading it but saw that it was now available in audio and switched to that format when I saw who was narrating it, I just love anything Gregory Salinas does. I loved Raelyn and Griffin's story they are both such well-drawn characters, who seem to share such great chemistry right from the start.

    As the book starts Raelyn has just escaped a bad relationship and visits a bar with two girlfriends who can't seem to stop meddling in her sex life. Whilst Griffin a firefighter has his own issues to deal with and has just moved to town to a new firehouse following a tragedy. The connection and chemistry between Raelyn and Griffin are almost instant an instant lust that deepens into love. Raelyn’s brother doesn't like their relationship and tries to put a stop to it.

    I felt that the story lagged sometimes as we had the same scene from different perspectives, something I personally could have done without. There's some conflict between Raelyn and Griffin because of their pasts and the secret Griffin’s dealing with.

    As previously mentioned both characters have issues but they are likeable and well-drawn and don't forget the sizzling chemistry.

    The narration definitely deserves mention, Gregory Salinas and Lessa Lamb work really well together and bring the story and the characters to life beautifully.

    An okay story, with insta-lust and minimal angst between the couple (the brother in the mix tries to bring the bite but there’s not much drama there either in the end). The ending was very confusing as we jumped to the “preview” of the new book without any idea.

    Also the writing style took some time to get used to since Griffin’s side is written with me instead of my , I assume to mimic his Irish accent. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me.
