    Carmen Jenner knows how to write a storyline that will leave you wanting more with a story that leaves your emotions running high. That is exactly how I felt during this story with the story staying with me well after I finished reading. This story was dark and raw leaving you on the edge of your seat all the way through this story. There was a lot throughout this story that I was not expecting.

    The heroine in the story has her life completely changed when she is thrown into a cold and dark world. She does not give in to her captor despite the punishments that she endures.

    Ares, I enjoyed reading about because of the way that his character left me with a lot of questions. He is not nice but during certain parts of story you see a glimpse of a different side of him.

    This story is not for the faint of heart but is definitely for anyone that is a fan of dark reads. The author did a fantastic job with the writing of this story and I enjoyed the dual pint of view throughout the story giving me more detail throughout the story. This story has left me desperately waiting for the next book in this series.

    This was a pretty good read. This was my first time reading this author. Camille Flynn is a prima ballerina who was kidnapped after the opening night of Swan Lake. Camille wakes up in a cell with no memory of what happened to her or who she is. Ares and his twin brother kidnapped her to train her as a sex slave to sell her to the highest bidder. This was a good read. Pet as she has become gets more pleasure out of being forced to do all kinds of things and it confuses her. What I liked about her was she was strong she did try to escape although she didn't get far. The more time she spent with Sir the more she realizes that she loves him even when she wants to kill him. She is also scared of his brother the more ruthless of the two. The three of them go to a kinky ranch that I really want to read more about where they meet other slaves that Ares has trained including a male slave that once had his heart that Pet is jealous of. When she did try to escape again she came back and she admitted her feelings to him. The sex scenes in this book were hot as hell. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

    It’s been WAY too long since I’ve delved into a dark romance as delicious as this. Carmen Jenner just hit my reader sweet spot with Ares and Pet’s story.

    It’s gritty and raw tale of their internal battles throughout the story was engrossing. Pet struggles with her growing love for the man that took her from her life but has claimed ownership of her body and heart without her ever really wanting him to. Nevertheless, he did. This ends up being a struggle for Ares because it’s not what was intended and it puts a huge kink in his plans.

    She has a purpose to fulfill but now he doesn’t want to let her go. She wanted so much to run, but now she wants so much for him to keep her. Her confusion as to her place also became mine. I too struggled with the two sides of Ares and couldn’t decide if I hated him or loved him. Perhaps I fall in that middle place of feeling both.

    Highly erotic, all encompassing...this story brought me back to the days when I first began reading Dark Romance and I absolutely LOVED it. I must know what happens next.

    In the land of gods and monsters, she’s just one more kidnapped woman…one more beauty preyed upon…one more slave to break, punish, and play with…one more pet to do her master’s bidding regardless of the humiliation, the pain, or the manipulation used in her submission.

    In the land of gods and monsters, she’s a pawn, a plaything, a lesser being, and she lives and breathes that inferiority every day and the fact that her body submits to her master makes her feel even more insignificant because there’s not one aspect of her imprisonment in her control, even the harsh release she feels every time he comes to play. But the hardest thing for pet to wrap her head around is the idea that, at times, he manipulates her body and her mind like a monster - one meant to feed on the torture of another, but then there are other times when he seems to be a god among men, complicating her perception of him and forcing her to feel things for him that she should have no desire to feel because, more often than not, he treats her like a whore…like a worthless vessel…like a miscreant who is meant to subject to his every whim or suffer the consequences of her decision.

    Carmen Jenner allows readers to trace the path of Pet’s forced submission...of when she succumbs to the deviously demented mixture of pain and pleasure...every bruise, every slap, every spanking, and every venomous word sends Pet spiraling into a dark oblivion, but it’s the sweet torture that comes with the pain that has her follow her Master’s commands with only small bursts of fight, which means by the time he’s finished with her, she’s not going to know a lot more than just her name...her complete identity will be defined by her Master, which is a scarier situation than the one she struggles and suffers through because if she loses herself fully to Ares and allows him to not just use every part of her body as he deems fit then even if she does reclaim her freedom, she will only be a shell of the woman she was, which leaves her no better off than she is as Ares’ captive and submissive.

    The fact that readers are privy to both Pet and her Master’s perspectives is as enlightening as it is mind boggling. There’s a bigger force at play in this story, but it’s not completely developed yet, so there are gaps in the information needed to truly comprehend the whys and hows of all that takes place.

    I’ll admit that I didn’t really understand why the plot took a twist that it did. There was so much to deal with just between the two main characters so adding further problems to an already complicated dynamic felt unnecessary. I get that it does shed a bit of light on Pet’s Master’s past, but for the most part, it distracted me from the main story line.

    Besides the deviation from the plot that I struggled with, I’m intrigued to see where Carmen Jenner takes these two characters, especially where she leaves them at the end of book 1. I’m not sure if the gods or monsters will win in the end, or if that battle isn’t the one I should be addressing because there just might be a potential victor that no one saw coming because they never bothered to look too closely.

    This was my first book by this Author and just WOW!!! I couldn't turn the pages fast enough, it was highly addictive and very dark and raw as Ares does his thing with Pet that will leave you with your mouth hanging open, Ares is very intense and with no compassion and with the few different sides we see its hard to decide if you want to murder him or like him, this pushes your boundries and if you like dark with a strong feisty woman like Pet or a tormentor that is Ares then go for it I loved it this just sucks you in right from the first page right to the end with these very well developed characters with flawless writing. I seriously cannot wait for more.

    Well I wanted dark and I got it! I read another dark book which I enjoyed and so looked for recommendations and this book was one of them. Be warned it’s very dark and I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to finish it in parts. The story telling was great and I had crystal clear pictures of what was happening in my mind whilst reading which was part of my problem. I was drawn in and was out of my depth. It was hot and steamy but at the same time my brain was saying ‘you shouldn’t feel this way’, kind of like what’s going on with the MC in the story. I want to know what happens in the next book but I think I need to take a break and read something fluffy for a while before I can go ahead and do that. Extremely good story telling but beware if you have any triggers this book is likely not for you.

    Well... I have no idea where to start.. This book has kind of mixed me up inside. This author definitely took my emotions on a roller coaster ride, that's for sure. I went into this book blind. I had not read the blurb, I had not read any reviews, I didn't know what I expected and for this I am glad because it helped me keep an open mind. This book is dark. I am saying DARK kind of dark. The kind that borderlines on hard limits for some. I suggest you go into this with an open mind as well.

    I can not even write much because so much happened in this book I want to talk about but everything I want to write is a dead giveaway to the story, so maybe it's best to be vague so you can experience this for yourself. There are MF, MM, MFM scenes as well as BDSM, lots of kink, voyerism.

    I didn't know whether I liked or hated Ares. I still can not decide. He makes you hate him but then he shows a good side that makes you think, " OK, he isn't so bad" and then BOOM he pisses you off again. This book definitely sent my emotions haywire. I need part 2 like stat, because I need to know how this ends!!!
