    KEEPING HAPPILY EVER AFTER is a standalone read with a happy ending. There are lots of sexy scenes if that is an issue for you. This is #6 in the series in the small town of Glacier Falls. This is Jeremy's story. Jeremy is a life long resident of Glacier Falls. He is up for promotion to fire chief. A goal he has had since he was 6. Jeremy is a fixture around town. Anyone needs help they call Jeremy.

    One elderly gentleman in town is always in need of a fireman. He is constantly having fires in his kitchen. Finally his family was notified of his condition and his family sent the granddaughter to try and talk him into an assisted living facility. She was staying for the summer to help him out when a small fire in the kitchen had Jeremy coming by to put it out. Now the fire between the two of them burns hotter than the one on the stove.

    Bella, a singer, is on a break from her band when she meets Jeremy and several people from the town. She always visited her granddad during the summers and that is when she first met Jeremy, the older boy and developed a crush on him. Now they are both adults and he is seeing her a bit differently.

    It was while she was in town that the biggest star in the country also moved to Glacier Falls. She gave Bella's name to a big music producer and he set up an audition for her. Things went from zero to 60 in a New York minute. Now Bella has been signed a record deal as well as the lead in a big blockbuster movie with Bella as the star.

    That has created a few problems for Bella and Jeremy. Two careers in two different states and two different worlds makes for a lot of negative issues. These two have a lot to work out. Lots of drama before they find a happy ever after. It is a good read and I enjoyed it. I recommend it.

    I liked Jeremy and Bella’s story. Everything seemed a bit too easy and glossed over. Bella seemed to have been magically discovered without any effort. She goes from being unknown to getting to star in a movie AND record all the songs on the album???!! Her friend Stephanie, who is a star is the co-star of the movie?!??! This all seems rather unlikely.
    I did like the characters. They truly seemed to care about each other, although again, it all seemed too fast and simple.
    I would read more books by this author to give her another try.

    This is part of the Into the Fire series. I enjoy the series; including this 'installment'. I did like how it included people from the other stories. I got to know Glaciar Bay even better. In this story their careers seem to be pulling them in different directions. That pull and the issues it causes brings up lots of insecurities. Nothing quite like a fire to bring things to a head and make a person's vision more clear-eyed.

    Normally I enjoy this author's books, but this story fell flat for me. I just didn't engage with the writing, which made the characters and story fall apart for me.

    Although I'm clueless as to what the reviewer who gave it one star because all the characters are "amoral" actually read since that is one heck of a leap of judgment. Sometimes I wish there was a like/dislike option on reviews or at least an "unhelpful" option.
