- Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2019Claire Ridgway and her cohorts have put together a clever little book that does not pretend to be anything it is not. What it is though is short entertaining history of the English Monarchy. The illustrations are beautiful and the information included is accurate, something you cannot take for granted these days! Although Ridgway is mostly known for her incredible Tudor books, this foray into the rest of the bunch is fresh and fun.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 16, 2021I loved this book!! Was fun to see the name changes of the women over time. The first monarch in the list had some interesting names for his daughters and a son named Edward. A name still used.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2022I loved the well written summaries and pictures.

I enjoyed the illustrations also. I read this on my Kindle Fire, so I got to experience the color. I am sure that the actual book would be even more enjoyable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Little pricey but well worth it for visual treats inside.
All though this book was smaller than I expected for the money it was well worth the spends when you open it & are met with the most beautiful colour plates. These are really a visual treat & make the book a delight to read. You can see the care & attention that the author has spent on this book. Great for adults & children this is one book that you will not be disappointed by. A must have addition to any collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brief but enjoyable
Quite enjoyed this quick run through of our Kings and Queens. Plus, the illustrations of each monarch are a joy, in glorious HD, able to be zoomed in and enlarged without distortion. Whether or not the earlier portraits are actually true to life is another matter!

its great to find a book that covers all the kings and queens. The illustrations are equisite and remind me of history books my dad used to have.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed.
Not sure why this is £30? Small book, with brief summaries. Would expect to pay about £15-£20. Disappointed.
