    This is a good guide with lots of positives, but also a few negatives. It is detailed, organized, structured and the author knows how to present a complex topic. I liked the flow of her writing, the visuals and examples she uses in the book to make everything even clearer. On the other hand, I feel like the book didn't need to be as long as it is, at least not in the way it is presented. Parts of it are a little repetitive and dragged out, but it is tolerable. Also, I would like more examples than theory, but that is just a personal preference, I'm sure that there are lots of people who like it the other way round. A little problem for some readers might be that it is good to have some prior knowledge of this topic, it certainly helps with following the book. Everything else is very good, like I said. If you are looking for a guide like this, it is an easy recommendation.

    I bought the audio version which is 12 hours long. I'm three hours in and all I've heard is a rehash of why we need to change our consulting business. Not one strategy yet. I hope it comes soon or I'll be sending it back to Amazon for a refund. She sounds very smart...but it's all rehash. Should have known if it takes an author 12 hours to give you value --lots of padding.

    We live in interesting times. People who never imagined experiencing financial challenges are suddenly out of work with little or no warning and are losing their homes at record pace. If you find yourself in a discouraging or challenging job situation, you may need a 'Plan B'. Learn how you can prevent yourself from getting into that predicament that so many of us find ourselves in today.

    The landscape for independent consultants has changed dramatically over the past couple of decades, rendering many of the good books on the topic woefully out of date. Enter Allyson's book, which covers the gamut of creating a leveraged consulting business in the digital age, from identifying and attracting clients, to fulfilling on the delivery of services they contract you for, and everything in between. If you're a service provider looking to create real leverage in your business, this book is for you.

    There is a difference between leveraging and scaling; for every service-based business with a founder whose intellectual property is the core of the business, this is the book for you. Clearly and well written, the book takes you to step by step in how to leverage your service and your time.
