I loved the premise and the characters are sweet. I like that story had a dive into depression… I like learning things about the characters other than their c*** size. Give one of the MCs a mental health issue made it more real. But it wasn’t what I was looking for and I disliked a few things about the storyline . But I have a feeling this has more to with my current personal preference and the story itself and the writing was great so it still gets a 5 star.
    *Spoliers*
So here are my issues. First you have to wait pretty much the whole book to figure what happened in their relationship, the first time. Understandable, it was horrible. But bread crumbs annoy me and that is pretty much what you get from the beginning to the end. I guess I like a redeeming story and this wasn’t it. They don’t figure out their issues and live happily ever after… I mean it’s implied, but still. You wait till the end, everything is laid on the table and no one feels better. Then a couple pages later the book is over. No warm fuzzies, a somewhat happy ending and a book that leaves you more depressed than you’ve been for a while. Not a bad genre but not what I looking for at the moment either. So excuse me while I go cry and then find something light and fluffy to read. I wanna read Finns book but the guy just lost his parents I’ll download when I can deal with more trauma.

Depression is an important thing to talk/write about. I think that every person suffers from depression at some point in their lives. Whether it's after heartbreak or something simple like you just can't decide what to do with yourself after high school/college and your stuck in limbo, while everyone moved on; or because of bullying; or pain caused by the loss of a loved one or any number of things. Depression is an illness no one likes to talk about, not even the person who has it, or even acknowledge that it even exist.

You can't see inside a person's head, why their have these thoughts that the author described in this book. They seem irrational for us outsiders, but the person whose feeling it/living it, they're totally reasonable.

Now I'm not sure what was it about this story, but something was missing for me. I can't exactly put my finger on it. Maybe the lack of communication between the MC's, but I guess that's reality. We people don't like talking to each other about our feelings. Or maybe the writing wasn't deep enough for me, didn't match the story in emotion.

Regardless it was a great story.

This book started up good but somewhere along the way it just went downhill. It's my first book by this author and I went in blind. No reviews, no expectations.

From time to time I enjoy second chance stories, but here I got such miscommunication and... well both MC's refused to discuss the past. They just got back together even if there was always a big elephant in the room. And it was huge! I mean, I would never be able to reunite with someone before sorting out the past.

One of the MC's is suffering from depression and it was hard to see him so trapped in his suffering and guilt. But when he revealed what happened 4 years ago, why HE left his boyfriend and why his boyfriend did nothing to contact him in the hospital back then... It just didn't sit well with me. It wasn't what I expected and it wasn't believable.

Anyway, the ending felt bitter sweet. They AT LAST talked! So 3 stars form me.

A powerful second chance at love and life romance.

Really more than a romance, its a how we can help ourselves, our friends and partners become their best selves.
I was pleased to read an advance copy of this book, then thrilled to purchase.

The friendships between Brett and Jaime, as well as their relationships to roomie/ friend Jen, are the reflective relationships that spur each of the young men towards parts of themselves they had forgotten, or thought they left behind.

Sometimes romance and dreams have rough roads.

Really moved by the support that still shows fear and frailty.

Reminded me of Iolanthe Wolfe's Stainer in many ways.

If you're looking for a great read for a different kind of romance, or a powerful read for young adults, this is a great courage seeking and bringing book.

    1. The great love story about two guys!
    2. Share what true love is.
    3. One of the guys has mental health issues. Which causes you to think about.
    4. I was able relate to the book in many ways. I have mental health issues as well.
    5. This book did cause me to think about my issues. Which caused me make some changes in my life, for the better.
    6. Its does show what is like to living with mental health issues and shows the changes in ones life for the better.
    7. Getting help is one of the hardest thing to do alone. Having someone will to stand beside you is great help in so many ways.
    8. Find the right doctor and therapist that willing to listen to you is a major plus.

My own experience all of this very true. It's hard work to get better, getting better for yourself is very important. Pleasing other is not correct way either. Do what best for yourself. Having good people around you is major plus in my eyes. Realize what kind of people you wish to have around does help. Stepping back from people that are not health for you abd stepping back away from them is very hard to do.
    Thinking positive does help!

I confess: I read first some reviews and postponed this reading because I was prejudiced about this book. And after reading it, I changed totally my opinion. First I thought this book was about some easy written story about depression mixed with some romance and some scenes. But the slow burning heat between the two MC, the reunion and re-making up of their relationship, even the mistery about the reasons why Jamie left Brett and the solution at the end completely captivated me. I loved it entirely. Maybe the end was written in a little rush but it's only fair. I think this is a good book.

Mental illness is a tough subject to cover. There are so many different directions it can take, and an understanding person to stand by you.

Jamie is having a hard time in college and does not help that his parents is over protective.
Brett has not seen Jamie in four years and was shocked to see him. Something happened the last time they saw each other. Brett is not going to let this opportunity go without finding out what happened.
's Davison captured the emotional turmoil Jamie was going through and the coping skills. Wonderfully written
