    I'm not a fan of a book series, but this one broke the mold. I couldn't leave the story unfinished and read the whole series. If it was a series of fifteen books, I would have gotten all of them. The story captures your heart and soul, makes you cheer the good guys, even those who are "questionable good guys", and makes you detest the villains. I know I will read this series again and again. One of my favorite stories of all times (there are three -- the "If I Break" series, Jane Eyre, and this). And there's nothing better than a long book, if it's good. This entire series is fantastic and each book is fairly long. If you want to spend about two weeks in absolute reading pleasure, this is the series for you.

Although this book was very suspenseful and action packed, it was also a breath of fresh air. You have to read them in order to get the satisfaction of a story well told. Well worth it in the end.     This is the last instalment of Sloan and Kara's Rocky road to happiness...and wow what a ride it has been.
    The storyline is so well written although the subject matter is sensitive and yes very emotional it was an amazing read .
    Kara is trying to become mentally stronger and getting there with the help and continued support of Julie her adopted Aunt/Mum who knows a little of what her childhood was like but not the more in-depth traumatic areas .
    Samantha is Kara's childhood friend and has s similar background to Kara . They are very close although they start to drift apart as Sam starts using drugs again and turns to prostitution and Kara tries desperately to help her to no avail and she is so torn of what to do ...
    Sloan is definitely an alpha male . It's really hard to say anything about Sloan as a lot of his secrets make up the majority of the storyline and there are so many twist and turns not just in his life but everyone who surrounds him (family ,friends even enemies). Anyway I can say Sloan is CEO and owns hotels,nightclub ,and a security company . He is very successful and works hard and plays hard.
    Throughout the series secrets come out about Kara's traumatic past that she thinks is just that THE PAST but ghost rear their ugly heads.
    The same goes for Sloan and his family .
    All the characters in this series are so well written and are all really individual (which with some books isn't the case ).
    This book has it all , Sensual sex scenes ,love, betrayal, friendships, enemies, love, hate, misery,hurt , pain but most of all HOPE.
    You will definitely need a pack of tissue ,and I'd advise that you get work out of the way before you start this series as you will not be able to put it down .
    This is by far one of the best series I have read in a long time and makes my top ten of all reads .

    I was put off by some of the lower score reviews for this book. Please, please, please ignore them. The only thing that spoils this books is the endless pages of silly sex. I found that I could almost skip chapters. Both characters are inadequate at love making and I could understand this from Kara's point of view and not Sloans', considering he has had many sexual encounters. I felt that the author could have included something new instead of re-hashing the same old sex plots. I'm surprised that Kara's wardrobe didn't just consist of thongs in every textile. The wasted pages on the sex scenes were annoying. Perhaps it was the authors lack of experience showing. Sam, and Christy's characters are strong and could have been developed a little more. Kara is an annoying and immature character. If you take this book as it is, overall it is a good read and does not disappoint. I was over the moon when the author spared Jeremy's character any ill-demise. He came good in the end. Some of the other reviews I've read have got valid constructive criticism, others...I would pay any attention to.

    This series of books, without the gratuitous sex, would make a really good screenplay or a TV series. If this series is written for women then I must conclude that women have no imagination. Some of the sex scenes are improbable, albeit written well. For instance, I cannot believe that the first thing a man would do, after finding his beaten, and tortured love, would be to stick his hands in her nickers. As a man I believe that some of it could be left to the imagination. However it is a gripping thriller.

    I had read fractured and tormented, which I loved, the end of book 2 left me wanting the 3rd book yesterday!!! Came across this last week so i re read the others as it had been sometime in between. Apart from the awful spelling mistakes and on the odd occasion jumbled grammar, this book was awfully good and I would recommend to others. Great story, well done Elle Charles, love your books, keep writing and I will keep reading :)x
