Light the Fire (Revolution Inferno Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 94 ratings

Revolution Inferno Series, Book 1
A reverse harem dystopian novel.

Scorched earth will be the least of their problems when she’s through with them.

My entire life has been spent in a cage.
I’m the only one of my kind. A triple threat.
They keep me locked away, drawing my unique blood to transfuse into others so they may possess my skills.
I’m too valuable to be set free or used as the assassin I’ve trained as since I was three.
I am not a vessel.
I am not simply a bag of blood.
I am a human being—female—and we are dying out.
But I will fight until my last breath for the freedom I finally grasp.
And those who betray me will wish they were never created.
I am Haina, a triple threat Hellcat, the Angel of Death, and I will build my army, and together we will light the fire of revolution and rise from the ashes to start a fair and just new world ruled by the most compassionate, the most honest, and the most powerful: women.

Notes from the author
* Multiple POVs and first person.
* This is a MFMM romance. There are no MM romantic scenes or MM romances.
* This is a reverse harem novel, meaning the main character has more than one love interest. There is no cheating, no cliffhanger (to their romance arc) and definitely a happy ending.
* There is described past torture and graphic killing in this book. Reader discretion is advised.
* Book 2 will follow four new characters, as will Book 3, with the series arc coming to an end in Book 3.
* Please note that this book is set in a post-apocalyptic world where not only has eighty percent of the human population died, but the ice caps have melted, the oceans have warmed and the geographical landscape of the world as we know it has changed due to the drastic rise of sea levels. The author did consult with an environmental and climate specialist to see what the world is projected to look like in 400 years, but some creative liberties have been taken to enhance the story.

Great start to smexy dystopian series!!

Great start to smexy dystopian series!!
Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Trope: post apocalyptic RHAngst: 😱😱Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥I absolutely love dystopian novels and Natalie Sloan's first did not disappoint. I really enjoyed all the world building she did to help us understand how we arrived to this point of time. The prologue was a helpful must read that set the landscape and made it a lot easier to understand (I even went back to reference it a couple of times). The book centers around Haina, a very rare Hellcat that has specific genetic traits who is attempting to escape the government after a life of being experimented on. When three soldiers are sent to retrieve her, she has to try to convince them to help her all while struggling with her "awakening" after not being allowed to truly live, up to this point.Overall, I really enjoyed the book! It took me a bit to get into it in the beginning, but I think that was more to do with all the complex world building that had to be explained, but it was well written and had tons of action. I really enjoyed all the MMCs, their different quirks, and how protective they were of Haina, whether they really wanted to be or not /looks at Zane 👀. There were a whole lot of super smexy times, but I liked the fact they did it at their own pace. I think, for me, it probably was just over my threshold of smexy < plot, but was still enjoyable (I don't mind that once in a while). The FMC was physically strong, but still emotionally vulnerable due to her empathy and lack of "real world" experience. Her lack of knowledge about the differences between men and women definitely provided some comedic relief during their interactions, lol. Overall, a good dystopian read and the first in a series that I think is going to get better and better!

This book had it all from betrayal, murder, withdrawals and oodles of steamy scenes. Haina searching for freedom along with her mates. After he used a blood machine. This book as insanely good, check for trigger warnings. Can’t wait for book two !

I am new to Natalie Sloan/Whitley Cox, but love dystopian literature and reverse harems, so this book was right up my alley. The book is based in a post-apocalyptic world where people are defined by their blood type/strain/enhancements and have different jobs that relate to those enhancements. There is a breakdown of these different strains/enhancements in the prologue and is a must read before diving into this book. Because of the extensive details needed to understand the world, it is a bit overwhelming/hard to get into at first, but I think the author did a great job of referencing back to the necessary information throughout the book which made it easy to remember/fully understand their world.

My preference for romance novels is that it has to have an interesting plot and (of course) great spice content - but if you took the spice away it would still be a good read, right? So, while this book had a fair share of plot and spice, it definitely had A LOT of spice. Which I don't say that to knock it (because again, it had great spice) but I think that it kind of took away from where the book is going/could go. The place I saw this most was the ending/last couple chapters because it just felt a bit rushed as the story got deeper and more complex, but then it just ended so abruptly. Just like any reader that is hooked in a story, we always want more.

All in all, I did enjoy this book and I will be reading further into this series because I can't wait to see how things pan out for our characters (both old and new) and especially the movement they are a part of!

Wow - this book was not at all what I was expecting. What a powerful dystopian tale with female empowerment at the forefront. With everything going on in our world these days, it definitely struck a few cords... the mutating virus strain that impacted people differently and the government that's basically enslaving individuals based on how the virus impacted them. It was very complex and intriguing - I really appreciated the prologue (and found it necessary to really understand what was going on).

We're first introduced Haina, a Hellcat with very rare genetic traits, who's held captive at a military base. She's planning an escape with intention to join the revolution... her escape attempt sent her right into the arms of 3 super soldiers... can they trust each other?

This book took me a little bit to really get into, but about 40% in, I was hooked. I enjoyed how, despite the fact that she was incredibly dangerous, strong and rare, she had the empathy that other similar Hellcats were lacking. As she navigated life on the run, she was like young child learning about the world (because she'd been held captive her whole life). The author did a great job of pacing her "learning." There were a few laugh out loud moments when she was learning about how women and men seek each other for pleasure. Learn she did... this book was very, very SPICY! Once she learned, she was insatiable.

Recommend this for all you dystopian lovers who enjoy RH tales.

I was intrigued with the plot, what the heroine was capable of, could they really win against the world order??

What lost stars for me was the length. To me it feels like some of this writing was purely for the joy of yammering on and chucking in a lot of smut. I lost interest along the way because you can only read so much smut whilst digging for the plot progression and character development. Another DNF for me.
