The Cottage on Lily Pond Lane-Part Four: Trick or treat Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 2,812 ratings

Escape to the seaside village of Little Pondale with Part Four of this heart-warming and romantic, four-part serial.

Mia Ward was amazed to inherit her great-aunt Matilda’s thatched cottage in the tiny seaside village of Little Pondale – especially as Mia didn’t know she had a great-aunt Matilda. She was even more astonished to discover she’d only inherit the place if she lives there for a year.

But a lot can happen in a very short time, and life in Little Pondale is not going quite as Mia hoped. She may have finally beaten one fear, but now heartbreak threatens to drown her.

And when at last, she starts to unravel the mystery of Matilda’s past, she uncovers an extraordinary plan for her own future. Now just who can Mia trust?

As the nights draw in and cold winds steal through Sunbeam Cottage, she turns to an unlikely source for comfort and support. But with the fortune teller’s warning still ringing in her ears, is Mia about to make the biggest mistake of her life?

Emily writes novels, novellas and short stories about friendship, family, the things life throws at us, and falling in love. She loves a happy ending but knows that life doesn't always go to plan. Her stories are sure to bring a smile to your face and a warmth to your heart. She is a full member of the Society of Authors and since her first book was published in 2012, several of her books have been best sellers.

Emily lives in East Sussex, UK, minutes from the sea in a town called Hastings - famous for the Battle of 1066. The stunning surrounding countryside and quaint English villages often appear in her books. Emily lives with her rescue cat, Portia, and when she's not writing, she loves to read, cook, drink (too much) wine with her friends, and potter in the garden of the house she's recently bought. She also loves skiing, adores frolicking in the snow, and is a self-confessed lover of Christmas - which can't start too early, in her opinion.

Emily loves to connect with her readers and has a readers' group in which many have become good friends. To catch up with Emily, or find out about the group, visit https://www.emilyharvale.com or connect with her on social media: https://www.facebook.com/emilyharvalewriter

I absolutely love this series! So many twist & turns, eccentric characters, and a whole lot of wine! Each book in this series Rocks, but you should buy the series all at once... you won't want to end one book & not have the next book ready to be read! Lol! I actually got lucky and finished the first 3 books yesterday and the 4 book was available for purchase, for the first time, today! Thank You Lord!
A Fantabulous Series...for too many reasons to count!

We’re back in Little Pondale with Mia, Ella, Lori and the residents of the seaside town, for the fourth instalment in the series.

It’s really hard to write a review of this book without giving away any spoilers to the earlier books, as this final part basically wraps everything up that has happened over the course of the series.

Mia now has access to her Great-Aunt Mattie’s diaries and has been left a note to read them in order, starting when Mattie was twelve-years-old.

Someone is still trying to force Mia out of town and they have noticed how much she likes Jet and is now focusing their attention on him, but they didn’t expect someone else to get in their way of hurting him.

The whole series has been a delight to read. I’ve enjoyed getting to know and spend the time with the characters. They have truly all grown on me.

We finally get to discover who the culprit is that is trying to run Mia out of town and why – Although I had worked this out a while ago. We also find out all about Mattie’s life and who her assets will go to if Mia leaves the cottage before her year is up. This did come as a surprise, but I certainly wasn’t shocked by the decision and think Mattie was a very clever woman.

I am also so glad to hear that Ms. Harvale has written a Christmas special as I’m not ready to say goodbye to the characters and their hectic lives just yet.

If you are looking for an engaging, fun series that will hook you into the lives of the characters and set in an adorable, quaint English seaside village, then this is the series for you.

Sorry to see this book end. I loved all the characters, as it was a four book story, it's sad to see them go. It's like losing good friends. Great read for a stay at home or someone looking for an escape from their humdrum life.

My Review The Cottage on Lily Pond Lane-Part Four: Trick or treat
    by Emily Harvale

    #lovely

    The Good
A lovely warm finale to a great book!

    The Bad
The mystery the diaries and Gill gave this book a different feel at the end. It was warmer. I loved the Jett thing..

    The Ugly
The best part of this whole series for me was the fortune teller. Then the secret spy and the issue of the house. They all were rounded up well.

4 Stars - I read this as part of a blog tour and will publish on Goodreads and Amazon

The side characters were cute / likeable and the plot silly enough to be fun. Mia was the worst part. She isnt particularly likable, especially for so many guys expressing so much interest. Suggestion for the author: make mia as funny as gill or as smart as jet or as sensible as lori or something less whiney!

I read all 4 books. Great reads. Each book made you want to know what's going to happen next on Lily Pond Lane. Glad I stayed around to find out. Ella might be my favorite character.

This book was not even for sale when I read the three other books in this 4 book series. I ordered and paid for it and waited patiently for this 4th in the series to be released. The day it released I finished it before the day's end. Now I want there to be a 5th book and for the series to continue. First time reading this author, I will definitely look for more of her books.

Emily, yet again you’ve taken me on a fabulous journey and the characters feel so real they now feel part of my life so it’s only fitting I get to revisit them at Christmas, new storyline or not it’s a Christmas present to all your readers they’ll get to read the names of the now so familiar characters of LPL. You are a truly wonderful author and a definite favourite of mine. Thank you for your wonderful work, it gives me real escapism. If you’ve not read this series treat yourself this is not a trick it’s definitely a treat you won’t forget.

Emily once again you didn't fail us. Part four of this series has more twists and turns than a helter skelter and more romance than a Mills and Boon novel. The characters are all believable and I could imagine myself living in the village with them. It was intriguing to finally hear all about Matties past life but I was sad that she didn't get her 'happy ever after' still who know's what might happen in the next life...
Thank you again for another wonderful book. Even if I did stay awake until 4.15am to finish it. X
