Emily writes novels, novellas and short stories about friendship, family, the things life throws at us, and falling in love. She loves a happy ending but knows that life doesn't always go to plan. Emily lives in East Sussex, UK, minutes from the sea in a town called Hastings - famous for the Battle of 1066. The stunning surrounding countryside and quaint English villages often appear in her books. Emily lives with her rescue cat, Portia, and when she's not writing, she loves to read, cook, drink (too much) wine with her friends, and potter in the garden of the house she's recently bought. She also loves skiing, adores frolicking in the snow, and is a self-confessed lover of Christmas - which can't start too early, in her opinion.

    I am such a sucker when it comes to a book set in a cottage by the sea in the UK... I mean how lovely would it be to live in a cottage named Sunbeam? A cottage in a village called Lily Pondale that backs up to the beach... A cottage full of hidden nooks and crannies and secrets... and a village filled with gorgeous eligible men, Romance is bound to be in the air soon.... A delightful beginning to this serial filled with new beginnings...

    Absolutely recommend as a quick delightful summer read, you could definitely finish this in one afternoon by the pool or on the beach...

    This was a frustrating read for me. Mia is not a strong heroin. She allows her friends to take advantage of her. The ending was frustrating also. In order to complete the story, I will have to to read 4 more. I normally like Emily Harvale but not a fan of this series.

    One day was all it took to read this story, totally captivating... Couldn't put it down!!.. All the characters are instantly likeable even the nosey neighbour Hettie... And all set up with a few mysteries thrown in. I can't wait to see who Mattie actually was and why she had fallen out with the family and how she knew all about Mia when Mia knew nothing about her... It seems like a whole new story in itself is a story to tell. Just starting book 2...can't wait... Love that it's a continuing story over so many books.... Thanks again Emily
