Love and Christmas Wishes: A Regency Romance Collection Kindle Edition

4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 448 ratings

Two sisters, Katie and Jane, and their impoverished cousin and companion, Sarah, struggle with life's constraints and difficulties to find love and happiness, despite their mother's wishes. Won't you join them on their journey to a happy ever after?

Sarah’s Magical Christmas Sarah Powell is a beautiful but impoverished young woman. She is unlucky in love and trapped in a position she hates. Working for her cruel aunt as a ladies’ companion to her wealthier cousins means she will never find romance or happiness. Stuck in a life of servitude, she has no reason to think her life will ever change until she meets a mysterious gentleman, Mr. Charles Langford of London. Charles Langford breezes into her life with a charming smile and a disdain for following the rules of Regency Society. Without position or title, he has no prospects but he shows her that sometimes all you need is a little Christmas magic to be happy. Everything seems to be a dream come true, until she discovers all is not perfect in love. He makes no promises for the future and her family disapproves of him. With a future as an old maid looming ahead of her, Sarah Powell faces a lonely holiday. Can she depend on Christmas magic or is she doomed to a life without the man she loves?

Katie’s Christmas Wish Katie Brookes is beautiful, elegant and quite her mother’s favorite. She has long been friends with Samuel Putnam but cannot understand why he has taken a step back from their acquaintance recently. It is made all the worse by the fact that she has realized that she has a deep affection for him, one that leads to love, not just friendship. Unfortunately for Katie, Samuel refuses to consider any potential future between them. Telling her to forget him, he pushes Katie away, breaking her heart in the process. When her mother decides that it is time for Katie to marry, she insists that her daughter tries to attract the attention of Viscount Halifax, who is visiting some friends. Disappointed and broken-hearted by Samuel’s rejection, Katie reluctantly does just as she is told, only to find that the viscount is more than eager to court her. Will she truly be able to forget her love for Samuel and accept the viscount’s proposal? Or will she be able to discover the truth behind Samuel’s reluctance and finally be granted her very own Christmas wish?

Jane’s Christmas Confusion Jane Brookes has often been told that she is plain and uninteresting, much too quiet and therefore, will be entirely unable to find a suitable match. She has learned to keep her thoughts to herself, never truly able to share what she feels for fear of bringing down her mother’s wrath on her head. Overlooked by her mother in favor of her younger sister, Jane keeps her broken heart to herself. Having fallen deeply in love with Viscount Halifax, the gentleman courting her sister, she scurries away to London in an attempt to find some sort of healing there. What she does not expect to find is that Viscount Halifax has also come to London, instead of remaining with her sister. Sudden meetings, Christmas balls, lies, deceit and a promise of future happiness all tangle up together, leaving Jane with more of a struggle than she’d ever thought she’d face. Can she work her way through it all and find the happiness she thought she might never have? Will Lord Halifax be her precious Christmas gift?

Rose has read her way through countless romances over the years, “borrowing” them from her older sisters, and hiding them from her mother (Mom didn't like the sexy book covers!)

She has a special love for Regency romances and when she began writing, the Regency period was a natural place to start. The ton, the wealthy families, the Season, the dilemmas, and yes, the marriages, have always fascinated her. She loves a happy ever after! Now she is happy to bring this passion to her stories and share it with her readers.

On a personal note, Rose lives in North Carolina, is married, and has a terrier that barks too much. She enjoys taking him for walks to tire him out!

This is a collection of three young women. The two are sisters, Katie and Jane along with their cousin Sarah.
It's about Christmas adventures during the Christmas season. Sarah, the cousin is poor. She is constantly reminded of her station by her aunt. Sarah is treated more like one of the servants or maid. She's given chores all the time like packing her cousins bags. She mostly is a tag along with the girls. They're at a neighbord Christmas party and she meets a young .man you have to read the book for answers. Katie is the mothers favorite, she's the beautiful one. Mom wants her to marry a Viscount. Remember back in the day young girls had no say or little say. Now Jane is unremarkable, a plain boring daughter. Katie secretly loves her Fathers steward. Jane secretly loves the Viscount. It looks as though Katie will become engaged to the Viscount. To avoid embarrassment Jane goes off to London as she is the older sister. Surprisingly the Viscount follows Jane to London. Will these girls get their men? You need to read to find out. I received this as an ARC for a promise of an honest review. I love her clean romance books. I highly recommend this book and this author

Rose Pearson is one of my favorite Regency authors and this set of stories does not disappoint. All of the elements of an enjoyable Regency are here, with fabulously decorated Christmas balls, a flawed hero, and a young woman searching for love. Of course, there are plenty of snags along the way ( as required by a good Regency!), but all 3 ladies get their HEA. Ms. Pearson has once again written a clean Regency and the addition of the magic of Christmas makes this even more enjoyable! I was given the chance to read this book through Booksprout and chose to review it.

Delightful three book set surrounding two sisters, Katie and Jane, and their cousin and companion, Sarah, as they seek love and happiness during Christmastime. I was entertained and intrigued from beginning to end with charming characters and well-written stories. Once I started reading, I just couldn't put the book down.

Ms. Pearson is a master at Regency romance and this set will warm your heart and put a smile on your face. I received a free copy of this book from Booksprout and this is my voluntary and unbiased review. I enjoyed it so much, I purchased a copy for my keeper library.

I loved all three books. I enjoyed how each of the ladies found their true love in their own way. I also loved how each story ended and the next one started and continued into the next one. I loved how each of the sisters learned how to stand up to their mother in their own ways. I even enjoyed how the father learned what his wife had done to each of the girls.

Nice set of stories. I enjoyed the second and third more than the first one. That one I found a little tedious. It also ended abruptly. While the HEA was there, I'd have liked more from it, and a bit more from the second one as well.

There were editing issues, as always, with this author, but maybe not as much so as with her other books.

This is overall a pleasant little respite.

Each novella ends with the HEA ending fitting for sweet and clean romances. These are not detailed and developed plots with complex characters but they still give enough descriptions and flow of plot to take the reader on a delightful escape into Recency romance. I can easily recommend this for all ages and, Enjoy!

These were three cookie-cutter novels that had little to recommend them except for being free. I would have hated to have wasted my money purchasing them. The stories were trite, the protagonists unbelievable, and the happily-ever-after so incredibly outrageous as to be... outrageous. The male leads were so in touch with their feminine emotions that they wouldn't even fit within modern society.

In reality, these novels should be written in a time period "in a time far, far, far in the distant future" where people don't handle emotions in any way resembling anything normally found in "real life".

I loved everything about these three stories, they all drew you into their world, all being connected to the same family. The plots and twists were unexpected and kept your attention, flowing one from another. My only disappointment was that you didn't find out who Sarah's beloved really was or his connections. I loved Katie for her determination not to give up on Samuel, even if she did waver a little in the middle, and my heart went out to Jane and I applauded her courage when standing up to Lady Crawford. I just wish the stories had been longer! Top star rating for the feel good factor.

Another excellent well written set of books by Rose Pearson.
The three females, Sarah, Katie and Jane were all strong characters. Eventually coming into their own strength and winning against their obnoxious aunt/mother, how someone as kind as their uncle/father who was a Vicar could have married such an evil shrew as this woman was hard to believe, but in the end he also stood up to her. The males Mr Langford, Samuel and James were also very gentlemanly, and endearing and it all worked out splendidly, although I did feel for George Grainger Jane's old friend, whom I'm sure it wouldn't have been a hardship for him to marry Jane as I am sure he had feelings for her.
I would thoroughly recommend these books as they were a very entertaining read.
