Lovers Catch: A Reverse Fairy Tale Merman Romance (The Sea Men Book 1) Kindle Edition

3.9 out of 5 stars 69 ratings

He can't walk. He can't speak. Could you love a mysterious stranger who just washed in onshore?

Shelley grew up dreaming of mystical creatures who lived within the ocean. Her aunt insisted on the existence of men with fishtails. But as an adult, Shelley tries to forget such nonsense, to avoid becoming another loony in a long line of perceived psychotic women. So, Shelley will choose not to believe in everything she's been taught about underwater people, destiny, and cosmic connection because it's just plain crazy. To believe that men could come with gills and fishtails is simply absurd! Until of course, Shelley is saved by one such man, a seaman, who will do everything he can to make her love him like crazy.

*This is book one of three in The Sea Men trilogy.
**Contains steamy scenes with a sexy merman.

A contemporary reverse retelling of
The Little Mermaid. Re-imagine a fairy tale like you never thought before.

Great reimagining of the little mermaid. Shelley lost her parents as a young child and was raised by her eccentric aunt, a self proclaimed psychic. A trip up the mountain overlooking the bay, to scatter her aunts ashes, leads Shelley to a world she never believe in. Old gods, mermen, curses, and the truth behind her parents death. Shelley holds the key, to set a cursed man free and to true love.
A fun, fast paced and steamy romantic fairy tale. Loved Shelley and Blue/Henry's story. Looking forward to Kimiko's.

Good world building, insta love from hero, but the heroine while willing to get down and dirty shies away from a relationship. Honestly, it’s at three stars because of the horrible human side characters... they were very one dimensional and cartoonish. I still recommend if you just HAVE to have a steamy Merman Romance.

Fascinating story. It's nice to read a paranormal/fantasy/fairytale retelling that's a little different. I loved the merman theme, and it held my attention through every adventurous moment.
I did, however feel it ended rather abruptly without proper closure, though not quite a cliffhanger.
I look forward to the continuation of the saga; though I believe the next book will cover someone else's story, I also hope it will ultimately bring satisfactory closure to this tale.
Intimacy significant, but not overly explicit.
A sweet, quick, enjoyable read. If you like sexy fairytales, give this one a go for sure!
(Very few editing errors that I can recall).
    Nicely done, Dani!

I really liked this retelling of TLM. The characters were likable, the backstory interesting and believable, and the way they came together was interesting. A swift and easy read with some sexy moments and a lot of merman fun!

Well, this was a decent read, I enjoyed it enough to finish it at least. I did feel that it needed something more. Some things didn't make sense, some things were pushing the boundaries of believable story writing (the kind where you don't question stuff in the story) & just someone's imagination going wild, some things totally pulled me out of the story making it less enjoyable. I get the fairy tale correlation, but there are just bits & pieces of it to link it to the Little Mermaid. I felt like with a bit more work from the author, this could have been a much higher star rating for me. I don't believe I will continue with the series.

First of all, The Little Mermaid was my favorite fairy tale (fairy cartoon, LOL) as a child and THIS book went straight to my heart. I love the sea, I loved that it started with a storm, with a girl who's not a virgin looking for love, but finds it in the most fantastic way with a sexy (very sexy!) merman. I enjoyed the love scenes tremendously, because--here it comes--I could never imagine how physical love betwen humans and merpeople are supposed to work. This author makes it feel like the most natural thing. I'm grateful for the experience this book has given me.

I really like the idea of a merman in Supernatural romance because it's not as on rye you see very often. Or sub-genre rather? Anyway the author is very descriptive and her story was pretty good and I enjoyed the read. I would like to know if there's a sequel because I would read it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A fascinating story. A new twist on The Little Mermaid
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 25, 2018
This was a fascinating read for me. I have not previously read anything like this before so I was truly captivated by the story. I love the idea of a Merman as the main male lead and the slightly skeptic none believer woman lead who just so happens to be his chosen mate.

This book has a strong plot with well developed characters who are easy to get hooked to. I love the fact there was funny moments in this story along with some steamy sex scenes and then the tension of whether Blue would get his one true wish?

This book is my first experience of the author Dani Stowe and I cannot wait to continue this adventure with book 2 of the series

A refreshing change on the paranormal/fantasy genre

Wowza! Dani took me to the dark side with Lovers Catch. It's sexy and taboo, mixed with Humour. Blue, oh my...he will make you giddy. I'm trying not to give to much away, I hate giving spoilers, but you will love this romance and be reaching for book 2!
