- Reviewed in the United States on April 8, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseRosanna Harrison lost more than her father when he died—she lost her dreams. Her inheritance from him was debt and the care of her mother. So, of course, her decision was to put her future on hold. She knew that even if she could get a job using her PhD in bioengineering, the salary of a beginning scientist on a government contract would not pay off her father’s debt—or her own educational debts or allow her mother to stay in the family home. So, she put her dreams aside. She found two jobs—one at the Ritz-Carlton in Manhattan waitressing and another at Eleganza stripping. They were not her dream jobs or her secret fetishes; very simply they paid the bills, allowing her to live close to her mom and her childhood friends. And, while the friends didn’t always agree, Rosanna, Rachel and Catherine loved and cared for each other as only friends who have shared a lifetime of experiences can—even to the point of Rosanna handing over the contact information given to her by a geeky tech millionaire seeking a date to Catherine who had been a fangirl of the guy for the past several years.
Chris Fullerton is a 29-year-old, multi-millionaire whose software program “Office Fab” led to the creation of his company, Office Media Solutions, and who can still show his computer geekiness with the best of the nerds. Loyal and trusting, he has risen to the top of his field but not forgotten his friends, in fact he has installed a long-time buddy, Sam Rockwell, as his publicist. And Sam, knowing that Chris can be too casual about his public image, works constantly to control what goes public about his geeky friend. So, when at the fundraiser Chris is hosting, the press notices how taken Chris is with one of the Ritz’s waitresses—even to the point of joining the hotel’s band leading the group in a piano rendition of the hit 80’s song “Rosanna”—the beautiful waitress’s name, Sam goes ballistic in his desire to keep the tech genius’ reputation spotless.
Nova Rain’s newest romance is quite a departure from the dark romance of Mob Ties. The author teases her readers with touches of a rom-com of mixed up affections, but which soon morphs into a romantic suspense. Many clues are dropped for the reader, some more clearly followed than others. The plot deserves applause for creativity, but it would benefit from some careful tightening to guarantee that all the treads are fully tied. It will be interesting to see where this author moves to next in the pursuit of romance.
I read an ARC of this book and am voluntarily writing my review, and I have bought the title, adding it to my list of “books to read again.”
- Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseMy main reason for an average three 🌟rating is that during my time reading this book I had multiple flashes of dejavu - that great thing where you say to yourself, "I've read this exact same book before.". Then you are left to wonder if it is just a matter of the author repeating words, scenarios, phrases, etc in her books or are these scenes from other books I have read in the misty past by other authors; we all are influenced by those bodice rippers we first read and I see " The Greats" woven into everyones books so that's no crime. Anyway, it was just a tad too repeat rinse cycle for a better rating ESPECIALLY since the all important story of drama queen Catherine who Rosanna was so focused on had no sort of closure.
And again, no HEA? Was "mess" going to create an entire nursery in his office for their 2.5 kids and dog? While Rosanna the stripper became a successful scientist? Did Chris ever get a good Publicist? A team of people so he could leave the Company and be home with the kids and dog? He'd be happier one would suppose the writer would make him. And the writer would fantastically give Rosanna some award for creating a new whatever thus amazing everyone.
So the book is fun. Give it a try. Enjoy.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAnother well written story line. Rosanna Harrison has a science degree, but cannot find a job in her field. She waitresses and works as a stripper to pay her bills. She is helping to serve at an event and meets Chris Fullerton, who happens to be a billionaire. He gives her his card and asks her to call him. Her roommate and friend is really attracted to Chris, so Rosanna gives his card to her friend. This novel flows smoothly from Rosanna and Chris's view points.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2020Format: KindleMany things shocked and surprised me about this book and it’s characters. First off, the path that you thought they would take is not as foreshadowed like it appears. Lots of twists and turns with mini subplots that are sometimes cheesy, moronic or just plain out psycho ward certified. One in particular was Catherine’s behavior. It was unrealistic, immature and just plain idiotic. Who has an all out temper tantrum over a public figure, someone she was never friends with, involved with, spoken to or truly knows? That person doesn’t even know you exists! Completely crazy! Rosanna and Chris themselves did a sort of dance that left me confused as to what both expected or wanted if and when they developed a relationship. I did not feel any chemistry between them that didn’t feel contrived. It was more like a friends with benefits packaged deal. Yes the sex was off the chains but the emotions and deep rooted connection was missing. Overall, not bad and highly entertaining as you never knew what was really going to happen cause then you’d be proven wrong.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 1, 2020Format: KindleNot a big Toto fan, but I am a fan of this book. Chris, just a regular guy-that happens to be rich. Rosanna, hard working girl. Once these two got together it was good reading.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseWhy would you let your friend pose as you in a text to set a date with a guy that met both of you at the same time and made it clear he was only interested in you just because she’s psycho about him from pictures, mad at you because he wanted you? Then you’re interested in him because it made you feel good that he walked away from her on the spot because you’ll tricked him. So he must be a man of substance and now you are willing to face the wrath of your best friend. Dumb and dumber.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchasePretty good novel. I loved the characters: their interactions with each other, even the shady characters. Even Sam was forgiven.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book, exciting read
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseGreat book, Chris and Rosanna are very different worlds. Rosanna has only known hardship and Chris is a billionaire who owns his technology company. Chris a total player meets Rosanna at one of her jobs and he becomes addicted to her, only when he asks her out she says no. He gives her his number but because her best friend is obsessed with him, she passes it on. Of course it causes a big kick off. Its a great story and the chemistry you can feel. Its a great book. one you need to read in one. Highly recommend.
