I really like Mrs. McAllen's books and this one is no different. This one is a bad boy turned good with the help of is angel. My heart broke for this bad boy and was glad to see him get his HEA. It was also nice to revisit other characters from previous books. If you like clean, sweet romances with a paranormal twist, I would recommend Mrs. Mcalen's books.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2018The Blogger vs. the Bad Boy had been retitled with reissued with a new cover, and this iteration is a lot better, with a hint of paranormal but interesting limitations for a bunch of half-angels (or "Celestia Divisa") fall in love with regular humans.
Jake is wealthy, gorgeous, popular, and bad boy to the bone. When his latest prank (dumping red jello on a girl at prom in re-enacting a scene from Carrie, the horror movie, leading to her slipping and breaking her ankle) sent him to community service, he ended up at a senior home serving meals to grumpy or forgetful seniors. Then he met Charisse, a half-angel. // Charisse's motto is "kindness is the best beauty product of all", and her beauty blog already enjoys a big audience, but she can't stand "the biggest jerk on the planet". Jake found himself wanting the girl who won't have anything to do with him. And Charisse and was definitely not impressed by him or his wealth. When a devastating secret was revealed, Charisse will have to decide whether to use her one miracle in life to save him... from himself.
Cute, sweet, and clean. This is a paranormal romance, but the linked nature of the universe has a good consistency to it. If you read the books in sequence. The paranormal-ness didn't figure into the story until much later.

I didn't like this book as much as the first. It was still nice in it's own way, and still enjoyable, but the first had an element that this one lacked. Maybe it's because of the time gap between the first book and this one. Maybe it's because the writing was lacking in this one. Or maybe it's because the characters were different. Regardless of the reason why, something didn't sit the same way. It was still an easy fluffy read, but more of this one rang false than the first. I wasn't really a story that I could completely dive into. I felt like a spectator the entire time, rather than a reader being welcomed into the story. So while it was still a nice story, it was less enjoyable than I had hoped.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2018I love reading about Angels because I know they are real!
This story was an inspiration to me.
The bad boy turns good concept was well written.
Another 5 star for the author.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2019Following on from book 1, this story follows Risse who we met as Zeph's sister. Risse has been volunteering at a local nursing home, and that is where she meets Jake. Jake is there not as a volunteer, but as part of community service for a prank gone horribly wrong. Risse is immediately put out by Jake's horrible attitude towards her, the patients, and life itself it seems. She is reminded that things are not always what they seem, and isn't it one of her gifts to be forgiving and compassionate?
As the story progresses, Risse sees another side of Jake - and she is possibly the only one he's let in after being abandoned by his mother as a child, and treated horribly by his father. Despite his father's wealth (and his by association) he is lonely and jaded.
Just when Risse and Jake grow closer and he seems to be changing for the better, events occur that rip his world out from under him yet again. Harbouring so much negativity against those who wronged him, he begins to spiral out of control. It would require a miracle to save his heart, however a miracle from a Celestia Divisa would mean that half angel would fall in love with the recipient - and they only love once in their life.
I loved the story - this is definitely a bad boy redemption story, a look deeper than the surface moral. Risse and Jake have chemistry that is evident, and their story was beautifully written.
Can't wait to read the next books in the series, with the next one focusing on the twins, Cheydan and Maddox.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2019Didn't see that one part coming! I love a book that can surprise me! A great high school romance leads a bad boy to find acceptance and love.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2019I do not watch or read anything partaining to supernatural beings unless it is related to my Christian beliefs. This novel was not what I thought it would be, I was disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars YA but for adults as well
Very pleasant read. Good as well for me as for my teenage. Proof that sometimes you need to pass trough outside image of a person, you can’t judge the boom by it’s cover, and learn what really is in theirs heart. And then you might not only be suprised but find your destiny as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars A feel good book of the loving kindness only an angel could bring
The second book in the series surpasses the first which is a huge feat. Kellie McAllen writes of the good things in life and the sometimes bad things that we must go through to grow and come out the other end a better person. The characters are so real that you feel you are there with them sharing their laughter, their tears and their fears. You feel a part of the happy family of Risse and the loneliness of Jake.
Watching Jake grow and feel needed and accepted for the first time in his life gives a warm feeling inside.
A must read for lovers of romance without the need for raunchiness.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another fine story from Ms McAllen
Charisse or Risse is a Celestia Divisa, half angel, half human with the gift of kindness. Her soul mate turns out to be a young man who is rude and cocky and an individual she doesn't much like. Read this story to find out how they come to get together - you won't be disappointed! This book can be read as a standalone.
