Holy moly! I should have expected more about the first book of the Belles and Mobsters series because Eva Winners exceeded all my bloody expectations. Since I read The Den of Sin, I was so impatient to read Luciano and Grace’s book. The hints about their story were killing me slowly. I felt it in my bones that their journey was going to be epic. It was a ruthless mix of a mafia romance and a different take on forced marriage. I loved how their story was written and how it unfolded. I was so consumed in this book that I had to take small breaks to collect myself and carry on reading. Each chapter captivated me and had me at the edge of my seat. I devoured this and now I’m craving for more! I’m a BIG fan of Eva Winners’ mafia romances since I read Vows of a Mobster some time ago. She does an excellent job by creating such intense and unique mafia romances that sometimes I feel like I’m a Belle myself, ready to sacrifice herself to marry a dangerous mobster. Yeah I know that sounds crazy but that’s how good her books are. And Luciano is not the exception! Luciano and Grace’s story is a messy one but oh so meaningful. The palpable pull, the combustible chemistry, the tension, the tenderness, the undeniable love. What started as a forced marriage ended as a sinful and dangerous journey between this two! The hate and love they have for each other is unbelievable. Luciano, the ruthless mobster and Grace, the sweet sassy Belle. When Luciano forced Grace to marry him, he had one goal in mind: to avenge the death of his mother and sister at the hands of the Romano family. He wanted to make them pay through Grace but his attraction to her was out of the charts. Passionate hate-love tied him to her in a primal way that he could not fight. An unforgivable betrayal made him return Grace to her family but little he knew about the web of lies and the evil lurking in that family. Luciano Vitale, cruel mobster, ruthless man. His possessiveness doesn’t know borders as well as his protective side. Too bad that when it comes to his wife he is blind as a mole. His hate for her is as big as his love. He lets rage drive him. But when it comes to love, he loves hard. Luckily his rebellious wife will forgive him before it is late and oh Grace will make him pay in spades. Grace Romano – Vitale is a sassy little thing that ended in a marriage that was her downfall. Her name is synonymous of evil and darkness. Secrets, lies and betrayals surround her. I loved to see her grow and develop, from the naive girl to an amazing woman. All the people who tried to clip Grace’s wings had to step back and bow in front of her courage and strength. Belles and Mobsters are never meant to be together. There are so many thing to love about this book! The pace was just right, the drama galore, there was plenty of loyalty, betrayal, growth, survival, reconciliation and a web of lies that kept me wondering all the possibilities of how everything would unfold. There are also some cameos of past characters that enrich this masterpiece to the point where all fits perfectly.
