Magical Delivery: Paranormal Women's Fiction (Midlife Witchery Book 9) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 1,290 ratings

Ancient traps, Fae beasts, and a lava chamber are the hurdles I must overcome to reach the dragon equivalent of a maternity ward. No biggie, right?

Solving one crisis after another with my coven left me battered me to a pulp at times, but it prepared me for my most difficult journey yet: returning to Eidothea to save my child's life. Apparently, most beings can't successfully carry a dragon's baby unless they undergo trials and tribulations to reach the lava tunnels in a forbidden mountain in the Fae realm. I know I will make it, because I have a much bigger issue to deal with.

Argies's overprotective brother, who just so happens to be my new king, is insistent on having things his way. Argies and I have barely made it past his discovery of my pregnancy, and now his brother thinks he can force me to stay in his realm. I've outsmarted a controlling ex, mastered the language of manipulation, and I'm one-third of the Backside of Forty. And did I mention I'm about to give birth to a dragon? King or not, he's got to learn that I'm not someone to be messed with.

I would love to give these books a 5-star review, but I can't. It seems a big chunk of these books is given over to whining, complaining and feeling sorry for themselves because of their lots in life - until they meet the right guy for themselves. The last book and this one are mostly about Asilinn and her pregnancy and being determined to not tell Argies about their baby that she is carrying. And when she does meet him again in his home realm, she is very angry at time for a multitude of reasons, and gets jealous when she meets a former love of his, which she really has no right to do, because for him it has been a couple of years since they last saw each other, so it's no wonder he got involved with someone else. I would say that if the book had way less whining and complaining, it would be a better book. Oh well, I will still finish this one and get the next one - mostly to see how it all works out.

Brenda Trim is a fabulous writer. These series about women is some of her best work. This book was one that we all been waiting for, the birth of a baby dragon or is she? As you know Brenda manages to put in a twist at the end of each of her books. But to know some of the interesting things about the baby you need to read the first chapter that is at the end. You will be surprised and delighted at the same time. Can't wait to see what Brenda Trim has planned for the next book.

I enjoy the series. My onlyj criticism is the co stand talk about how they all fell in love throughout the book several times. It feel a little redundent. I will need the next book now.

Excellent ending for this story and building the tension for what will be I. The next book of the series. The author made me cry over the birth and stress I could feel.

WARNING! MASSIVE cliffhanger! We’re talking life threatening type here.

Aisling and the Backside of Forty, plus Bas and Argies head for Eidothea and the location where dragon mamas give birth.

While Aisling and her friends have to deal with so many obstacles in this one, Argies really made me mad!
It’s true, he does a lot to redeem himself, but I’m still mad about something he did, and his horrendous way of handling it and Aisling!

Nevertheless, this is still an enjoyable addition to the Backside of Forty series, even if it does end in a terrible cliffhanger! Recommended for PWF fans.

In order to give birth safely Aislinn has to have her baby in the far realm. Not as easy as it sounds. Wonderful characters with magic and an unexpected twist of two. I loved this book.

While I enjoy the writing and the adventure, I don't think that this is a man I would ever aspire to be with in my midlife. Seems too much like a man who doesn't appreciate what he had nor is he nearly good enough to be hero material. But that's just my opinion. Both him and Bas were jacka$$es in this book if you ask me. Which is too bad. I understand a good story needs turmoil, but you still want a hero that is considerate, kind and loyal.
