Compromising the Marquess (The Forsters Book 1) Kindle Edition
England, 1814
Leah Elliot sells secrets to survive. She has perfected the art of uncovering society scandals for a London gossip rag to support herself and her sister, who were left destitute after their father's death. When she meets Hal Forster, the dashing Marquess of Denby, she learns he may be involved in treason. The rumour is too valuable not to sell, despite her attraction to him…
Hal is no traitor but a spy seeking the man who killed his contact in France. He is intrigued by Leah…until he realises that she's the source of the rumours interfering with his investigation and forcing him into an unwanted betrothal.
Now, Hal and Leah must work together to draw out the killer and undo the damage caused by Leah's gossip. But their passion runs out of control and is in danger of causing more scandal…

About the author

I’m a British author, brought up on the Isle of Wight and share my life with a handsome rescued Spanish Podenco called Markos.
I’ve had over one hundred books published, ranging from Regency romance, (my first love), to contemporary women’s fiction and marine crime mysteries.
When not writing I walk miles, make half-hearted attempts to retain flexibility by attending yoga classes, read other people’s tomes…oh, and I’m on a one woman mission to keep the wine trade profitable!

4.0 out of 5 stars A very good read.
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseEnjoyed this story in the series, look forward to the second one. The heroine was a very different type to the normal girls of that era, but had some spirit thank goodness. I am getting fed up with simmering misses.

4.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable regency romp
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAn enjoyable story with mystery, regency lifestyle and a bit of spice. What’s not to like? Only four stars because of occasional grammatical error and I would have liked the story to finish with the come uppance of Aunt Augusta and the village worthies. I really enjoy an epilogue.
