4.5 out of 5 stars 631 ratings

Rule #1- Don't fall in love with your husband

After one incriminating photo outs him to his parents, Stevie loses everything: his family, his home, and his shot at finishing his degree. He’s at a loss what to do until the guy he’s been crushing on makes him an offer he can’t refuse.

Coming off a jilted engagement, Casey is done with relationships, swearing off marriage forever. But when he discovers sweet, sexy Stevie in financial trouble, Casey can’t help but step up and offer to marry him so he can qualify for finical aid and fulfill his dream of becoming a teacher.

They’re determined to keep this marriage a temporary arrangement by setting firm rules and sticking to them. The most import rule of all? Absolutely no falling in love. But the longer these two are together, the closer they get to crossing the line. Once emotions get involved, who will break the marriage rules first?

Jacki James has been saying she was going to write a book since she was sixteen and wrote fanfiction (before fanfiction had a name) about her favorite Rockstar. She is a believer in love of all kinds but MM romance is her favorite by far. She has a romantic heart and a dirty mind and likes to write stories that let both shine.

When she isn’t writing she is either creating beautiful pieces of glass art or reading. She is an animal lover and dreams of having a small hobby farm where she can raise goats, chickens and organic veggies. In the meantime, she lives in town with her two cats, awesome husband, and two college-aged kids.

Another great book in this series. This story is all about telling someone your feelings and not bottling them up. Casey and Stevie come to an arrangement which helps them both out but someone forget to tell them what happens when love is involved.

Aww so good and sweet. Just like before I take issues with the "rules" all these guys have even tho I do get why they each have them and that so far they all stem from hurt and being hurt. I still hate them. I'm so glad to see them go and that the last 2 haven't really talked about the rules as much as the first book. I loved Stevie and Casey together and I am so happy they worked everything out. I definitely recommend this book.

Delightful slow burn to love and forever! One of my favorite troupe's is a marriage of convenience becoming a real love affair. The writing flowed and the story-line kept me engaged. i loved the little connections that were built between these men that became the foundation for a grand love.

Casey and Stevie have an intense connection and lots of steam in their relationship. I really liked both MC's and found their fears, hopes, friendship and struggles very real. Their friendship was filled with respect, care and fun. i enjoyed their discoveries at the flea market. The depth of the characters was greatly enhanced by the many friendships with supporting characters.

i am so wanting Lincoln and Matt's story!

These men and their rules, when Stevie's parents found out he was gay they didn't quite disown him but they refused to pay for the rest of his college education. When his friends found out he got an offer from the one he least expect,Chase. Since this was his crush he couldn't believe his ears, Chase suggested they get married in name only. He said if they married Stevie could apply and qualify for a student loan. But once again there were rules and the most important one was rule #3 don't fall in love with your husband. How was that even possible when you're spending most of your free time together and you're breaking the other rules too, don't sleep in the same bed and no sex.Once the friends with benefits started what they had was starting not to be not so fake. Cute Couple!!😍😍

Casey offers to marry Stevie so he can receive financial aid to complete his teaching degree. Will their three rules for their legal marriage really help them keep it fake and temporary until Stevie graduates? Learn who’s betting against it being fake! Enjoy this story of two passionate men finding fun, friendships and unique solutions!!!

I stumbled on the first book in this series and truly enjoyed it. As a "rule" (no pun intended) I don't normally read series but found myself pulled in, bought the next two AND signed up for the freebie. I am currently waiting with baited breath for Matt and Linc's story. Come on down to Texas and read these, they are a fun, hot read I would totally recommend!

Stevie lost his parents support when they found out he was gay. They quit paying for his education and basically disowned him. He figures he will have to teach yoga full time and forgo school for a while.

Casey decides he has a solution. If they get married Stevie can get financial aid and continue school. He has a big empty house and he's lonely.

They decide that it will work and get married. They both want to see other people, discreetly, which didn't really work when they went to a bar with friends. Stevie had a great idea. They can have sex with each other and solve the problem. Then they set the rules, easy to follow, simple rules. Always use condoms, don't sleep in the same bed, and don't fall in love. Epic fail.

As with all the Breaking the Rules books, these men are very likable. Their relationship as friends translated very well to being in love. This was a nice addition to the series.

I liked the book and I give 3 stars. It was quick, low angst read.
I liked both of the MC's, but unfortunately I could not connect with the characters. I did not feel the falling in love part and felt like there was no longing for each other. But overall good addition to series, great to see character from previous books and I look forward to next book in series :)

Jackie James makes falling in love sound so perfect. This book was great two men that tried so hard not to fall in love had you rooting for them to finally admit that the did indeed break rule #3.
