I recently discovered I am the previously believed dead Fae King. But it isn’t all coronations and revolution like I’d hoped.     Things are starting to heat up in the second book of the series as the young fae return to the academy for their second year. Ryker chooses his close friends as his royal guard and they are all beginning to join in with the King when he and Maurelle have sexy time. According to Shineah, this was necessary although she never said why. Ryker thought it would allow greater protection for Maurelle. The amulet that Shineah had given him was helping to hide his power, but once he appointed his guard it seemed that more and more fae were aware that the king had awoken. He begins to gather allies, but his enemies are drawing closer. They still have one more year at the academy before Ryker will be strong enough to declare himself King. I can't wait to see what happens next.

    It's year 2 at Bramble's Edge Academy. Maurelle & Ryker are back together along with his 3 closest friends. In this book, Ryker uses his king powers & marks his 3 closest friends as his Guard. He doesn't want to put Maurelle in any more danger so he is putting off telling her how he feels. He has to accept that he has to share her with his 3 friends even if he doesn't know the reason behind it. When Maurelle & Brokk are taken in the middle of the night because they are linked to the new king, Ryker will stop at nothing to get them back. As his powers continue to grow, he has to find a way to come in to his powers & very quickly or the entire Fae race will suffer further.

    I couldn't put this one down. I love the way these characters all fit together. I'd like to know more about why Ryker has to share Maurelle with his friends, but I don't think not knowing this takes away from the story. I'm looking forward to book 3 in this series.

    The story picks up with the group heading back to the Academy. Ryker and Maurelle are still together and he has chosen his friends as his Guard. More of the Fae have felt the power of the new king's awakening. It's getting harder to hide each day. While he builds his number of allies, he still can't escape his enemies. The possessiveness Ryker showed for Maurelle in book one was pretty intense. I did not see him including his friends in their romance. Being told it was necessary without reason, he assumes it is for their safety. I am not a fan of RH. However, the change in dynamic flowed smoothly. In my opinion, it takes a talented author to do that. That said, I'm anxious to see what comes next. Danger is ahead and they will need to be strong together. This is my voluntary review of an advanced copy I received.

    THIS IS YEAR 2 AT BRABLE’S EDGE ACADEMY. I LOVED THIS BOOK. THE STORYLINE KEPT MY INTEREST THROUGHOUT THE STORY. I LOVED THE CHARACTERS AND THEY ARE WELL DEVELOPED AND WELL WRITTEN. IF YOU LOVE FAE OR FANTASY THEN YOU WILL LOVE THIS BOOK.
