The Indian Code: MIBU & The New Millennium Kindle Edition

4.8 out of 5 stars 13 ratings

In "The Indian Code," prepare for a laughter-filled odyssey that bridges continents, cultures, and comedic chaos. Meet Sreeni, a South Indian transplant who finds himself in the midst of the late 1990s Y2K frenzy upon arriving in the United States. Tasked with untangling the notorious Y2K bug, Sreeni's life takes an uproarious turn.

As Sreeni navigates the perplexing landscape of American life, each new encounter triggers a side-splitting flashback to his South Indian upbringing. From zany culinary escapades to heartwarming familial anecdotes, Sreeni's reminiscences add a delightful layer of humor and depth to his cross-cultural escapades.

Joined by his irreverently charming childhood friend Narain and the hilariously inept Shwetha, an unintentional IT guru, Sreeni's escapades transform into a whirlwind of laughter, camaraderie, and unforeseen twists. Narain's rib-tickling antics clash with Sreeni's seriousness, while Shwetha's IT misadventures keep everyone in stitches.

Painting vivid portraits that teleport readers between India's bustling streets and America's vibrant cities, "The Indian Code" masterfully melds cultural observations, uproarious exploits, and heartwarming bonds. Join Sreeni and his mismatched crew as they bridge two worlds and discover that laughter knows no borders.

If you relish cross-cultural comedy and heartwarming friendships, don't miss out on this uproarious saga that will leave you guffawing and remind you that sometimes the most memorable adventures are the ones that catch you by surprise.

This is not just another Indian IT story. A very different story line with good characterization. An Indian who has been in US, can very well appreciate the emotions this book evokes. Author brings in a good amount of humor in situations we all can easily relate to. The language is lucid. My teen kids love reading the book again and again. The ending was simply superb. Looking forward to reading the next book by the author.

Once you start reading this book, you can not stop until you finish this one. Minutes, hours and days flies. The week does not fly as you are done reading the book in couple days. It is a very honest attempt by the author who had truly portrayed the mind of software engineer and his interesting experiences. Truly loved it.

It is amazing that so many software engineers have become successful and eminently readable authors. I really do not know how story telling gets embedded into them so very adroitly. I never imagined that their American stint can unfold so much of drama that I had to continue reading pages without putting the book down. A very well written book which is totally enjoyable!

    Hi Shan,
I spent some good time by reading this book. And I really want to mention few things that I have almost met all your characters in my life except Sreeni's family. Especially Abhijit and Shwetha like characters, I get to used to survive peacefully with the former but still struggling with the later one.

    Any advice?

    Thanks,
