Mistletoe Wishes Kindle Edition

4.0 out of 5 stars 25 ratings

The last thing Keaton wants is to be stuck in the small town his father owns for the holidays.
The only thing he detests more than Christmas,
is small towns that make a big deal over the holiday.
Especially a holiday he associates with his mother’s death.
Keaton plans to get rid of his father’s investment as quickly as possible,
but what he doesn’t expect is to get tangled in tinsel with the beautiful Harper—A feisty little baker who is determined to push his limits.
Harper wants nothing more than to make her bakery, Mistletoe Wishes, a successful franchise.
She’s worked hard to get to where she is today and isn’t about to let anything—or anyone— stand in her way.
With relationships and romance being at the bottom of her list,
Harper finds herself in unfamiliar territory when she meets the sexy Keaton Snow.
His aversion and distaste for Christmas and her home town are the only things she doesn’t find attractive about him.

Will Keaton open up his heart to Harper and let the joy of the season, and promise of a future, deter his plans to sell the town he grew up resenting?

This was my first read by this author, and most certainly won’t be my last. It’s a delightful, yet steamy, holiday read. Keaton is not a fan of Christmas and when he comes to Snow Peak to make changes to the town that his family owns, he meets Harper, a young woman who owns the towns bakery. He never expected someone like her. She is a complete breath of fresh air and you can’t help but love her. She loves the holidays and is determined to show Keaton that he needs to change his mind on how he feels about Christmas.

These two are perfect for each other. He’s a bit broody and she’s all bubbly, and when the two are together, sparks fly! Can Harper show Keaton the “Christmas way”? As these two embark on a relationship, something comes to light to try and keep these two apart. But will the Christmas spirit prevail? As I read, I kept hoping these two would end up together. But do they? If you want to know, then I highly recommend that you read this endearing, holiday story!

Cute and short love story for Christmas. I wanted more in terms of the writing, but it was an entertaining read.

This is a new author to me. Quite an enjoyable reading experience. Small-town girl crashes into big-city boy's car. How could they not fall in love? Oil and water until they are lulled by the spirit of Christmas. Two things - 1. Where is Snow Peak? Far enough from New York (Keaton's home) that he needs to fly there is all I could surmise. 2. Do his parents live in New York or Miami? He drove through the gates of their SOHO community after waking up one morning and got a great view of Miami beach. ???

I am floored that this book is the first by JJ Carlson! I am MAJORLY crushing on Keaton Snow who I saw as Chadwick Boseman (🙏🏽) the whole time while reading! I just love a grumpy, grouchy hero! Harper was everything I love in a heroine. I love that I could totally envision myself as her, with an extra dose of sass! Representation matters!

This book gave me all the Christmas feels, topped with a HUGE dollop of steamy whipped cream. I love an alpha that uses these words right here:

    “You okay there, baby girl?”

“Don’t make a sound.” It’s a warning, and I like the way that sounds. I bite my lips when the urge to scream is too strong. “Be good for me..”

I need so much more from this author, and I look forward to seeing what she puts out next.

This story was silly. It had the potential to be really cute, in a hallmark movie kind of way. However, it just became silly. The pacing of the story, the forced chemistry to try to move the story along but without any real plot or character connection to support, and the multiple conflicts that were far too dramatic for the length of time they'd sPent together.

Will the grumpy (but hot) guy she rear-ended end up being a Scrooge or a Santa? Harper doesn't know yet, but she knows she needs to nail her presentation this afternoon. When the meeting is cancelled and she finds she's been snowed in at the lodge, she's only too happy to stay at what is a second home, a place that reminds her of her parents and their love of this small town.

Keaton isn't willing to tell the gorgeous woman he upset earlier that he might be the one to derail her dreams of expanding her bakery. Nor is he willing to take her up on the hot kiss she laid on him. But he's soon finding that the town holds some kind of magical sway on him because suddenly he's enjoying the holiday spirit and wanting to stick around and be with Harper. Will she ever forgive him when she finds he's lied to her?

Mistletoe Wishes is a seriously steamy, sweet holiday story. I adored Harper with her sassy, independent nature, and her love of her family and their little town. Keaton, once he lost his bah humbug attitude was a suitable man for her, even if I did want to go all Scrooge on him when he hurt her more than once. But the way it ended, and the descriptions of the beautiful setting...yep now I'm all excited for this holiday even though I can't spend it with my own family this year.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy.

What a fun and sweet holiday story! I love baking so I loved this story. Harper and Keaton’s initial meeting after “bumping” into each other was less than pleasant. Keaton had one reason to be at the resort but Harpers view of Christmas changed his mind. After spending time together the sparks flew. However, when Keatons ex shows up and Harper finds out about some thing Keaton has kept from her their future could be in jeopardy. I received in exchange for an honest review.

This was a quick read that takes place during the holiday season. When Keaton shows up at a run down bed and breakfast that he and his father own, he has one plan: sell and move on. As he spends a little bit of time with Harper, a fiery woman who he can't stop thinking about he starts realizing that he wasn't as happy as he thought. I liked this quick read, I just wish that there would have been a little more relationship building. They seemed to go from zero (hating each other and what they perceive the other stands for) to 100 (being in love with each other, in the blink of an eye.

I enjoyed how strong each character was on their own, but how they brought out the best in the other. Ana, Keaton's ex, was a whole bag of crazy in my opinion. Harper was strong willed and wouldn't be walked all over, I just wish that she would have stayed and listened instead of running. Overall, this was a good book and I would be interested in reading more in this series, and by the author. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
