More Than Her (More Than Series, Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 2,235 ratings

Please note that this is the second book in the series and should not be read prior to reading More Than This.

"For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction."
For every choice you make there are rewards, or there are consequences.
It was my choice to walk away the first time. And my choice to chase her the second.
But sometimes you don't get a choice, and all you get are the consequences.

"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”
Unless that someone is Logan Matthews.
Because loving him didn't give me the strength to walk away.
It didn't give me the courage to fight for him.
And when it was over, all it gave me was a broken heart.

5 ++ OMG Fan Girling Stars!

“Boys in books are so not better. Not compared to Logan Matthews. I love him.” ~Amanda~

More Than Her is book two in this series. I fell into complete love with Jay’s writing and characters after devouring More Than This, on a reader recommendation. I immediately bought the next and continued to devour this next book. I loved that this is a continuation; we are reunited with all of our favourite characters from the first book. The girls are still holding their reading sessions, and the boys are still loving the rewards. In one scene the girls are Hoovering, and getting upset about being interrupted, while spending time with Dean Holder. I laughed so hard, I woke the hubs up. He was not impressed. Anyway, I digress.

This is Logan and Amanda’s story, we as readers have been previously introduced to these characters in More Than This. Logan is a bit of a player, and a more than a little confused about his feelings for Micky. Micky is his best friend’s girl. Amanda is one of Micky’s friends. Complicated and awkward yeah? That’s what I said. Logan and Amanda meet for the first time at a wake. Yep, awkward. This is where we begin. We get another extremely emotional story here. It had me crying and cursing, laughing and blushing, swooning, and sighing. Logan’s first move, especially bad, ill timed, and hilarious! Note to all men; don’t try to kiss a chick, you just met at a wake.

Logan, and Amanda’s story is sweet and sexy, but plagued by bad timing, and epic failure in the communication department. Logan is so confused about his feelings for Amanda; it mucks everything in the beginning. I was banging my head off my iPad more than once while reading. I love this series for a ton of reasons. Mostly I love it because it really resonated with me. The dialogue is fantabulous, the flow is perfect. The character development is amazing. I fell head over heels for Logan; I never saw that coming, not after some of his behaviour in More Than This. We get a lot of insight into each, Amanda and Logan’s pasts. These scenes gutted me, they made me sob for their pain. Amanda and Logan have had extremely difficult obstacles to overcome in life.

“I’m sorry I’m being an a******. But the thought of you, and some other guy with his hands all over you – I hate it, Amanda.” He gently turned me to face him, and rested his forehead against mine. He kissed me once softly. “I want to feel everywhere he’s felt. I want to replace the memory of his touch with mine. I don’t want a single part of your body to not know my hands, do you understand?” ~ Logan~

I enjoyed the humor that was interwoven throughout. Lucy’s trucker, potty mouth is hilarious! My stomach hurt reading some of her scenes. The emoticon talk. I almost died reading. Logan trying to “layook” Amanda, priceless. But what really, really hooks you? It’s the heartache. This book has some serious heart ache and pain throughout. There is a MASSIVE cliff hanger at the end, please be prepared, I was not. I could go on and on, but I need to stop here, as I feel I’m rambling. This book was amazing and one of one favorites of this year. I cannot wait to read More Than Him. If you have not yet discovered Jay McLean, please do. You will not be disappointed. When you have become a Fan Girl yourself after reading these books, “You’re More Than Welcome”.

4-4.5 stars. I held off on reading this book for a very long time because I absolutely loved More Than This so hard with Jake and Mikayla and wasn't sure if I could love Logan and Amanda nearly as much. I shouldn't have doubted Jay McLean's writing. Logan is nothing like Jake in personality but equally awesome in his own way. Maybe he was the guy that spilled beer on Mikayla because he wanted to meet her, but deep down, Logan is a true friend as evidenced by when Mikayla really need someone to hold her hand and comfort her or by Lucy's drunken declarations. Logan and Amanda are really funny because Amanda keeps pushing Logan away and Logan keeps trying to get into her personal space. The details of Amanda and Logan's personal story, when revealed, show just how well they belong together and I enjoyed watching Logan slowly unravel as his feelings for Amanda got stronger and stronger. Amanda is a very spirited person with a sharp wit, she and her twin brother Ethan exchange some pretty sharp words yet they would do anything for the other. Amanda is also self-conscious and independent. Logan might seem playful on the outside but he's the kind of guy who appreciates any good that has come into his life and works hard to maintain it. There's some surprises and a twist towards the end that I could not have predicted but added some closure from the previous book. I have grown attached to the More Than circle of friends and this book ends on a somber note. As much as there is humor and sexy times in this series, there's also some very serious stuff, too, that really challenges the characters about who they are on the inside and how they handle these situations. I love that kind of depth to these people because it always shows how strong love can be. I can't wait to see how the rest of Logan and Amanda's story plays out in More Than Her.

Loved the first instalment, couldn't wait to get started on the second. Logan is a lot more complex than the first book in the series would have you believe, and your heart will break for him over and over again. Luckily, he's got his friends and Amanda.

🇺🇸 The twists in the story! The angst! I mean. Wow. Logan was one of my faves and I loved knowing he got a book… or two. The ending in the first book was a shock, but the story in this one was amazing. Amanda intrigued me since I read her brief appearance.

    What’s gonna happen now?

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 8, 2014
The first book blew me away and left me a teary, snotty wrung out mess, I should've expected the same from this book but I didn't - my bad. This is another outstanding read, full of darkness and the most amazingly sweet romance.

This instalment is Logan and Amanda's heartbreakingly beautiful story. Logan is broken underneath his womanising demeanour, when he meets Amanda he actually sees a person and not just another girl to bang. Amanda feels an unusual connection with Logan after one beautiful night. But things don't run smoothly, Logan is scared of attachment. Amanda has a cupboard full of secrets that she struggles to share. Will they both be able to trust each other?

That is a really pathetic synopsis, however, so much happens in this book I can't put down a whole heap without blowing the plot line open. Basically it's a clear your schedule, grab some Kleenex, a drink and snacks because you are not going to be able to put it down until you get to the very last page type of book.

I adored the book and I cannot wait to read more from this fabulous author.
