My Christmas Spirit Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 549 ratings

I knew I had problems when I woke up in the middle of the night to find Mike Stubbins sitting at the foot of my bed, stark naked, still as gorgeous as every one of my memories of him.
So what’s the problem, I hear you cry? Gorgeous, naked man in my bedroom?
Well, there’s the not-so-small, highly significant detail that he died six years ago.

Yup. You read that right. And now he’s everywhere. I can’t even brush my teeth in peace. And did I mention that he never stops talking?

I’ve missed him like crazy, every day of the six years he’s been gone. And with Christmas coming, the memories are even more acute. But this is getting beyond a joke. Ignoring a naked guy is a pretty tough task, especially when I’m the only one who sees him.
So when he bops a complete stranger on the head with his dick in the middle of the coffee shop, I have to laugh. Anyone would, right?

Except… there’s a look on the guy’s face that tells me he felt that. But… how could he?
And now he’s looking at me like he’s expecting me to explain what just happened.

Either he’ll call for the guys with the straitjacket… or this will be one of the most interesting conversations I’ve ever had….

It was very heartfelt and sweet. Andy is stuck in a rut because of his grief He lost his lover, Mike, six years ago before Christmas and as !ugh as he thinks he's moved on he just can't let him go. Mike decides to take matters into his own hands and manifests to help him along the way to happiness, and that's how he meets Ollie.
I enjoyed this book it had lots of laughs and good year jerker moments while these two men dug themselves out of their grief to reclaim and enjoy the spirit of Christmas.
There were no errors of any kind which made for a smooth read. I have read from this author before and will continue to do so.

A sweet, touching, and romantic holiday story written with endearing characters (Mike!) and lots of "feels"! As someone who has lost a romantic partner after being together for many years, I know the holidays are never the same. It can take years to feel the holiday spirit again. I could definitely relate to both Andy's and Ollie's misgivings and trepidation. But, this is a sweet story of enduring love and hope. A wonderful read! Cheers!

I don't know how she does it, but KC pulls me in from the first paragraph in all her writings and I happily stay they until I'm usually blinking away happy tears while reading the Epilogue. This was such a fantastic journey through about two weeks time in two men's lives who are brought together by a matchmaker ghost who is the former boyfriend of one of the men. The snark and love expressed throughout between Mike, the ghost, and Andy, his boyfriend who's still alive, will have you grinning like the Cheshire Cat, if not laughing out loud at times. And Ollie, the other man who becomes the new love for Andy, is so perfect that I wanted to just twirl around and chortle when he and Andy kissed for real! Oh, and the fabulous surprise that KC drops into the Epilogue will have you grinning and twirling again. Thank you for such a happy and satisfying Christmas story, KC!!!

Cute Christmas themed love story. I enjoyed the premise of this story but something was missing for me. I think it came down to the fact that Ollie and Andy were basically the same person, with just a few personality changes. They had practically the same backstory, their partners could have been twins switched at birth, so conversations surrounded “I was think this” “ me too” “you understand me so well” of course they do. I prefer my MCs to be a little different from each other.

I did pick the ending pretty early but that didn’t take away from the book.

All in all I’m happy I read it but I probably won’t read it again

I love KC Well's books especially her Christmas stories. Two men's lives are changed over the course of two weeks thanks to a matchmaker ghost Mike, who was Andy's boyfriend when he was alive. Andy and Ollie meet when Mike whaps him with his ghost dick in a cafe and Mike's snarky moments are hilarious. Ollie is also mourning the death of his deceased boyfriend, Jay, so both he and Andy learn to move on and make this Christmas a better one than years past. I loved the epilogue and how both men came together thanks to the love and ghostly push from Mike :)

This is a fun and whimsical holiday story and was a lot of fun to read. I love the plot of the story. The final scene was the best. Looking for a light holiday read this one will fit the bill.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet and unique Christmas read
Reviewed in Australia on December 19, 2020
This was a sweet read, and a bit of a tear-jerker at times. Andy thinks he's moved on since losing Mike 6 years earlier, but when Mike turns up a few weeks before Christmas in ghost form, it becomes clear that Andy hasn't moved on, and isn't really letting himself live. With a little nudging from Mike, Andy finally takes steps to move forward, meeting Ollie in the process. Ollie and Andy have a lot in common, and their burgeoning friendship soon starts to blossom into more. And any time Andy starts to hesitate, Mike is there to push him forward again.

It was a sweet, zero angst read. Andy and Ollie were both great characters, and Mike added some levity, as well as being a good guide for Andy as well. The story flowed well and is one of those books you just don't want to out down. Thoroughly enjoyable, even if I did get a little teary at times as Andy had to make such a conscious effort to let Mike go. I loved the epilogue and the reveal that happened right at the end. This is a book I'd recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars A beautiful, emotional, slow burning Christmas romance
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 24, 2019
I loved this book. It's such a sweet and emotional story of two men, both previously torn apart by the loss of their loved ones, meeting and finally realising there is love to be found again after all.
It's been six years since Mike had suddenly passed away a few days before Christmas and although Andy thought he had moved on, he really hadn't. The ghost of Mike decided it was time to give him a little push in the right direction, so decided to visit Andy in all his glorious naked self! With a little help from the comical and sometimes annoying Mike (thinking of one coffee shop moment in particular), Andy meets Ollie who also had lost his boyfriend Jay three years previously. They soon become friends, stumbling through the Christmas preparations and with a little help from Mike, realise that they are falling in love with each other and that Christmas can once again be a time for happiness and joy.
This was a wonderful slow burning romance and I loved the characters and could definitely feel their emotions. I got through an awful lot of tissues, but the story also made me laugh and I loved the unexpected twist at the end. Definitely recommended if you love a warming Christmas romance.

Two guys meet at random? Both know loss and understand each other and the pain and emptiness each other feels. Together they rediscover their Christmas spirit with each other. A well written story that has the HEA but have tissues ready too.

...read a book that made me cry so hard. Like really throughout the whole book. Judging by the cover and the blurb I expected something funny. As it is I was bewildered by Mike bekng naked the whole time. Was it just to be funny? Well, I still cried every time he appeared and his nakedness didn't really put me out of my misery. I loved the idea behind the book but everything felt so slow at first and so rushed at the end. And have I mentioned the crying?
