- Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2020An amazing read from start to finish. The buildup is amazing and doesn’t throw too much at you too fast which makes this book very hard to put down. Definitely describes New Orleans perfectly as well; you can clearly see that the writer knows what they are talking about.
I believe my favorite part of the book is the dialogue. It is not pretentious, the conversations and inner monologue of the protagonist is realistic. I can picture actually having these conversations as opposed to books that are based in New Orleans with dialogue that sounds like it came from a Georgia plantation.
I can’t wait to see what else the author has in the works.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2020This book grabbed me from the start and had me until the end. The descriptions were spot on, especially of the New Orleans heat, and I was on the edge of my seat to find out what was going to happen. Creepy enough to raise the hairs on the back of my neck and engaging enough that I had to find out what was going to happen next despite worrying it would be a scare-fest (horror is not usually my genre). I cannot wait for the follow up (please tell me there will be a follow up!?)

Masterfully written, you are kept hanging on till the very satisfying end. Full of wit, horror, excitement, and quite possibly the best descriptions of the city of New Orleans since John Kennedy Toole. Read it.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2020William was promised that the assignment in New Orleans would be weird, but no warning could have prepared the seasoned mercenary for what he would discover there. An engrossing and fast-paced descent into horror for fans of the eldritch and occult.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2020Very enjoyable read! Vivid descriptions really painted a mental image and drew me into the scenes. The characters were all developed well enough for the interactions to feel natural. Nice cliffhanger ending leaves me excited to read the next volume. Kudos!

- Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2019As dark and intriguing as New Orleans itself. This is such an engaging story, right from page one. Equal parts intriguing mystery, tragic reality and terrifying supernatural horror story. Nephthys will haunt your thoughts long after you've read the last page.
