Excerpts from Amazon Reviews:What an amazing story. A Duke who has lost his way. Hischildren who have lost their parents. A governess who loves the children . . .can she help make their house into a home? HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!

I might have stayed up a little too late wanting to see howit ended though, even knowing Rose's books always have happy endings.

I thoroughly enjoyed this clean Regency romance with greatcharacters, romance and intrigue.

Very heartwarming and enjoyable read.

This is such a sweet story. Love will conquer all. Thecharacters are memorable and the dialogue is believable. The emotions of thecharacters are explained in perfectly natural tones. The descriptive writinggives substance to the story.

I began this book in late evening & could not stop untilI was done. It's a good thing I do not work! Highly recommended.

Rose has read her way through countless romances over the years, “borrowing” them from her older sisters, and hiding them from her mother (Mom didn't like the sexy book covers!)

She has a special love for Regency romances and when she began writing, the Regency period was a natural place to start. The ton, the wealthy families, the Season, the dilemmas, and yes, the marriages, have always fascinated her. She loves a happy ever after! Now she is happy to bring this passion to her stories and share it with her readers.

On a personal note, Rose lives in North Carolina, is married, and has a terrier that barks too much. She enjoys taking him for walks to tire him out!

I loved every word, every minute, and every character of this book. It grabbed my attention immediately to the point that when I began it I could not put it down. The depth that readers sometimes put in their reviews gives way to much information. I feel they take away an element of surprise. I wish to say that the twists, turns, strength, sadness, and extreme joy is all found in this story. I felt it to the depth of my soul. I lost my first love to cancer and truely believed I would never be whole or happy again.I did find love again and am happy and whole. Thank you so much for touching my heart completely.

I enjoyed this sweet and emotional Regency romance with captivating characters and a well-written story that kept me entertained and engaged from beginning to end. I really liked Jenny Edgington who becomes governess to the two children of widower Lord Stephen Carrington, Duke of Edgewater while he finishes his duties overseas. Ms. Pearson has given us another winner and I look forward to book five in her must-read Returned Lords of Grosvenor Square series. I received an advance reader copy of this book from Booksprout and this is my voluntary and honest review.

The Duke's wife has died and he sent his children back to England while he remained in the army. Jenny's parents died in a fire and she became governess to the two very unruly children. The Duke was eventually discharged from thievery and sent back home. However, his grief was so deep that he wanted nothing to do with the children. The children felt he didn't love them and were afraid Jenny was going to leave so they changed their
attitude. Jenny kept telling the Duke that he had to pay attention to his children but he kept ignoring her until one day something happened involving his son. This is an okay story with a predictable outcome. If you want something that Dr a quick read you may like this book.

I enjoyed this book and will recommend it to other lovers of Regency Romance. The Governess in this story is a second cousin to the Dukes deceased wife. When she arrives the children are disrespectful and angry. Even though trials are hard the Governess cares for the children and the loss of their mother. I leave you to find out what happens next in the story. I did!!!!!!

Losing a true soul mate is unthinkable for the living. Having a second chance at love, is enough to keep on living. Join Carrington and Jenny in their fight for family and life free from the darkness of loss.

Like all Rose's books. She is a down to earth writer telling it like it is. Liked the fact that Jenny tells the Duke exactly what is going on with his children and trying to straighten him out to help them. That she falls in love with him a long with the children is an added bonus.

It was a good read. The characters were strong. The subject of grief was well written. The story got predictable at the end and the characters story got too sweet but it still was good.

I am the type of person that likes to finish a book once I have started it, but in this case, I wish I hadn't. Most of the book is filled with angst. The Duke spends most of the first 13 chapters (of a 17 chapter book) drunk, ill-tempered, and mean, almost to the point of being hateful towards everyone including his own children. Finally around chapter 13, something the governess said to him (and had been saying the whole book) got through, and like a switch being flipped, the Duke became this sweet, kind dad. I had hoped that the book would redeem itself at the end, but sadly, it did not. At the moment the Duke decided he was going to be nice, he also decided that he loved the governess. The last four chapters wrapped up very neatly without them really having spent a lot of time together.
I realize that this is just my opinion, but I wouldn't recommend this book.

I always enjoy Me Lncasters books. This one was no exception. I was a little sad that the ending finished with both main characters declaring their love for each other. It would have been nice to have read the Dukes intention to marry Jenny to his children as they played such a large part in this story. Maybe to have read their thoughts. And a nice epilogue coming back to the family in a few years time. Or a scene where the Duke takes his children to their mothers Grave marker.

This governess really did have a terrible task with just the children I thought she would try to escape , but if course she had a stronger character and the storyline would not let her fail her duty. I enjoyed every minute !.
