Big Al's Books and Pals: bit.ly/1LZ99Ug

?wazithinkinThis story just became absolutely amazing. Tangled webs are woven in heaven and on earth. This book shifts points-of-view and each chapter ends with you sitting on the edge of your seat where it takes you on to the next nail-biting situation. It never lets up.Jordon's powers are growing and at war inside her heart and mind. She is pushed to test some of them out early in the book and managed to not lose control. She has no idea how strong she really is. She also makes a new friend, Xander, whom she feels drawn to but doesn't know why. The big boss sends Jordon on a mission, she gets to choose team members and if she completes her mission successfully she will be allowed to go back home to her brothers and Uncle Casen... or so he says.In heaven Michael is making power plays and Gabriel seeks help from the Virtues. Where Gabriel learns about the prophecy and is told there are certain stands he needs to take, despite Michael.Quinn discovers a powerful relic on the bookshelf Uncle Casen says he's never seen before. An old acquaintance shows up with a plan to find Jordon. Outraged when Uncle Casen and Nathan agree to give the plan a shot, Quinn takes off on his own with the relic. As he suspected, things go to hell back at the house. I can't say much more than the pace was fast, furious and emotional. Surprising twists in each storyline kept the suspense high. It was hard to put the book down and I found myself reading until my eyes wouldn't focus any longer. The climax... holy crap!

Refracted (The Celadon Circle Book 2) by Nicole Storey is the much anticipated and thoroughly riveting sequel to Blind Sight (The Celadon Circle Book 1).

I had read Blind Sight a while back and could not wait for the next installment in this well-crafted and superbly written series. Ms. Storey has delivered a sequel that will keep you on the edge of your seat and carry you through every emotion you could possibly have as she spins this latest tale of Angels, Demons, Heaven and Hell.

When Blind Sight ended, Jordan was taken by her demon father, Aamon to live with him and Jordan's half-siblings. Jordan's brothers (Nathan and Quinn) and her uncle (Casen) will stop at nothing to get Jordan back from the clutches of evil. But, when their Guardian Angel, Gabriel is replaced by another (Illyria) to watch over them, Jordan's brothers and uncle face a difficult time in trying to rescue Jordan.

Jordan must come to grips with her newfound powers of good and evil along with reconciling the fact that her real father is a demon. Jordan is torn between her demon family, her human family and what the Celadon Circle wants from her. All the while, Jordan matures by leaps and bounds to save not only herself, but also those she loves - even if she must die trying.

I absolutely adored this book! Blind Sight was great, but the author has definitely knocked the ball out of the park with Refracted. It is one book that I will read again - which is something I seldom do, so that speaks volumes on how much I loved it.

I would recommend this to those who like fast-paced, no holds barred fantasy and coming of age stories.

    Very well done, Ms. Storey!

Gabe is the Angel charged with protecting Jordan's family. Michael commands the warrior angels and has somehow been compromised. Jordan has gone to live with her demon father, with a bunch of other children sired by him. Maddie is still a child, barely thirteen. Gina is a total bitch, and used her abilities to torture others. The climate changes drastically when Jordan is sent on a job by her father's boss.

There is too much in this book to decipher everything on print. I cannot tell you all the ins and outs, the intricacies of the story. I found it interesting enough to continue reading. Now I have to wait for the next book.

    Read on my friends

Refracted was a book that had been on my radar ever since reading Blind Sight. I bought the book on release day and read it inside of a week.

The book lived up to my hopes, but it was departure from the first book. The first book featured a “monster of the week” type of treatment. Jordan and her family had to fight off an evil monster. There was plenty of character building and while the main plot was tied up, a bigger story emerged that had Jordan whisked away by a demon.

The second book begins with Jordan living with her new family and adjusting to her surroundings. She is also learning about herself and just what her new powers entail. She doesn’t understand them, and no one else seems to understand them either.

Refracted does a nice job of establishing relationships and developing the characters further. This story follows Jordan’s character arc and there is no “monster of the week” this time the family has to chase. Refracted jumps the reader into the fray with no room to gasp for air.

It was a good book and lends well to the genre. It was interesting seeing a world full of angels and demons where they don’t stick to their stereotypes. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

This is not the kind of book to start reading when you can only read in snatches here and there. I didn't want to put it down! I got so involved with the story, I carried my kindle with me so I could read a few pages every chance I got. It's been a while since I read the first book in the series and it took me a few pages to remember who was who, but after my memory was refreshed, I became totally engrossed in the story.

Refracted is fast-paced and well written and I believe everyone will enjoy it. I'm not really a fan of the supernatural/angels/demons type of TV shows or movies, but this book had me hooked.

In Refracted by Nicole Storey, we learn that Jordan, the protagonist in the first book of the Celadon Circle series, is not only half-human and half-demon; she is also part angel. Like in the first book, the plot is suspenseful, the characters and themes are complex, and the storytelling is superb—a truly entertaining read.

In the upcoming battle between good and evil, which side will Jordan be on? I can't wait to see what happens in the third instalment.

Refracted drew me in from the very beginning and had me biting my nails with the way it is written to evoke such high energy. It is rare that I like a sequel even better than the first, but that was the case with this book. The story is told in a way that kept me constantly on the edge of my seat with strong emotions driving me to “see what is going to happen!” A few emotional additions added a new depth to the characters that made Jordan more real and relatable to me. I also enjoyed the insight into Quinn's head. He added a new spin with his emotions and conflicting actions. The storyline and plot twists in this series is continuously surprising me. I can’t wait to see what this series has to come. I will continue to one-click purchase The Celadon Circle series. I’m thoroughly addicted to this exciting tale and highly recommend it!

After thoroughly enjoying the first book in this series I eagerly awaited the release of the next.
    My mind is blown!
The author has taken it to a whole new level of awesome this time. The first book, Blind Sight, is a great read, but Refracted is nothing short of phenomenal. I wouldn’t even know where to begin describing all the things I love about this story, its characters, and the concept as a whole.
Just read it. You’ll love it.
    Ten stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars Not your average angels and demons story, I highly recommend it!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 29, 2015
Although I loved the first book (and in some ways prefer it storyline wise) this book was so much better for several reasons.

We got to know the characters, and the worlds of the angels and demons, better. The writing style has improved immensely; although it was good in the first book it feels more polished in this one.

I love how this story, although about angels and demons, isn't just a cut and dry 'the angels are very very good and the demons are very very bad,' there are marvellously complex areas of moral grey.

I was completely immersed in this story and if the second book has improved this much I can't wait to see what book three brings.

All in all this is shaping up to be a great trilogy.

This was as captivating as the first book of the series. I was totally hooked and found myself getting lost in the story. Things just seem to be getting more complicated for Jordan and I will wait patiently for the next book to find out what happens.
