- Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2024The third installment from Morris’ This Rotten World Series proves that the story is getting better with every book. At no point does the plot slow down enough to make you question whether or not you want to see what happens. Along with the suspense, the character development is improving as well. If you like action packed zombie stories, this series is a must read.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2022Normally by this point in a zombie series the two dimensionality of the characters often becomes too evident to ignore. In this series however the characters continue to develop chapter by chapter, book after book. Allowing the reader much deeper insight into each characters story arc without being bogged down and bombarded with traditional, repetitive (often boring) zombie genre tropes. Great job Jacky! I’m a fan!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2020Just, WOW! What a ride. I devoted these first three books back,to back, and back. Couldn't put them down till I was through them. A great cast of characters that seem so real I found myself pulling for them to survive. I would near swear I knew some of the soldiers attempting to make it through the city alive. Mr.Morris writes his characters like few others are capable.
Can't wait for book 4! Keep up the excellent work.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2023Have read the entire series and love it! Action, Suspense, Gore....awesome!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 28, 2020I had purchased all three books in this trilogy. There were areas where the prose was not constant and some of the sentences themselves did not make sense. That is until you went back and switched a few words around or deleted one. Books 1 & 3 had page numbers while book #2 did not. Am I being too picky?
I don't know who proof-read this series, but they should have not been paid imho. i.e. in the first book a zombie actually asked if a procedure was safe! That is... until you realize the mess up and switched in another name. This occurrence (except talking zombies) happened throughout the entire trilogy.
Not a bad read. I did enjoy the story and actually started to care about several of the characters. As you read, you could see the character growth/change in several of them. The deep emotional turmoil in one of the characters was actually a bit unsettling (a good thing).
I would recommend this series but with a condition that you warn them of the grammar and missing page numbers from book #2. It's the little things the make or break a great author.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2023As with the previous book, I'm torn between loving and hating this book and this series. I did enjoy this one more, finding it to be a solid 4 star rating. Honestly, about half way through, I almost stopped reading it... but, there's the great parts and I ended up liking the end way better than the middle. Looking forward to what happens next!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 1, 2021This book in my opinion was the most gruesome of the bunch and had more downs than ups in terms of the characters’ situations, outcomes, etc. which took nothing away from the story itself. While I would like to go into more detail, a more in depth review would just contain too many spoilers as a natural part of the review…so I will not go that route and simply say, it is worth a read but brace yourself for some despair and also for an ending that will make you want to instantly jump into the next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Zombie lovers dream book.
I recently had the pleasure of reading "This Rotten World: No More Heroes," and I must say it was an incredible experience. This book captivated me from the very first page and kept me engaged until the very end. Here's why I highly recommend it:
First and foremost, the storytelling in "This Rotten World: No More Heroes" is exceptional. The author's ability to weave together a compelling narrative filled with suspense, action, and emotional depth is truly impressive. The characters are well-developed and relatable, making it easy to become invested in their journey.
The post-apocalyptic world portrayed in the book is vividly depicted, with detailed descriptions that paint a bleak yet fascinating picture. The author's attention to detail creates a sense of realism and immerses the reader in the story's setting, making it easy to envision the world as it unfolds.
The pacing of the book is spot-on, with a perfect balance of suspenseful moments and quieter, introspective scenes. Each chapter leaves you wanting more, eager to uncover the next twist or revelation. The action sequences are thrilling and well-executed, keeping the reader on the edge of their seat.
What sets "This Rotten World: No More Heroes" apart is its exploration of complex themes and human nature in the face of adversity. It delves into the depths of morality, survival instincts, and the bonds that form in extraordinary circumstances. The thought-provoking themes add depth and substance to the story, elevating it beyond a mere post-apocalyptic tale.
Additionally, the writing style is engaging and immersive, making it effortless to get lost in the pages. The author's ability to evoke emotions and create a sense of atmosphere is truly remarkable.
In conclusion, "This Rotten World: No More Heroes" is an outstanding book that delivers a captivating and thought-provoking reading experience. With its compelling storytelling, well-developed characters, vivid world-building, and exploration of complex themes, it is a must-read for fans of the post-apocalyptic genre. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an enthralling and immersive journey into a world gone awry.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great detailed read but needed a much better proof read before release
I will start by saying I'm a massive fan of the series so far. I loved the first book so much I bought all of them immediately after! Jacy Morris has a great way of hooking a reader and really invests a lot of time developing the characters into people you will love (or hate).
The only thing I have grown to really dislike is that the proof reading must have been skipped! Countless times in the book have characters names been used incorrectly or sentences not making sense. If you can get through this it's still a great book but it really does prevent you from diving into the book; especially when you have to re read it and change the sentence for it to make sense.
I hope the rest of the books in the series improve because I love the world he has created.

5.0 out of 5 stars This rotten world: No more heroes
Hooked from start to finish, I hope nothing like that happens in real time or I'm a goner for sure lol.
Keep up the great work 👍

5.0 out of 5 stars What a story! (Very minor spoilers ahead)
Jacy Morris, You sure know how to write a compelling Zombie thriller! Seriously, there were parts of this book, especially towards the end where my heart was in my throat. I could have screamed at some of the scenes with the ladies in it and the mystery surrounding the Nike compound clearly isn't over even by the last page.
Nobody is safe. Nothing is sacred. No subject seems off-limits to being referenced or even described slightly. This series is just...amazing. I am nail-bitingly curious to see what happens in the next one and the one after that.
I have absolutely loved this series so far and, just before finishing this book, bought the next for when I next get a chance to read it. It's so rare for a book, even one I love, to sink it's infectious teeth into me in such a way.
