This book had me in a puddle! This is a good enemies to lovers book and though this is a romance book, there were some phrases that Ethan threw out there that was giving dark romance vibes!
Amelia and Ethan’s story was such a fun read. Of course, like a true romance book, there’s some heart break. But there was so much heat and spice that I think my jaw was on the floor most of the time.
Apart from the spice, Ethan is a single dad and the way Oliver, Ethan’s son, is incorporated in to this story is so sweet! He had me giggling and teary eyed at times.
There are definitely a lot of heartfelt moments, gut wrenching moments and moments that had me questioning if I should just carry a mop or towel with me while reading because the puddles that this book created… 🥵
I had the opportunity of listening to the ALC (advanced listeners copy) for the audio of this book. Emma Wilder and Noah B Perez did not disappoint. Emma Wilder’s talent never ceases to amaze me. It’s so easy to tell the difference between each character she is voicing. She had multiple female voices, males voices and a child’s voice to portray in this book and she nailed every single one! She definitely and easily could have carried this book on her own. HOWEVER, I am so glad that I was introduced to Noah B Perez’s voice in this book. This is the first book I’ve listened to with him as a narrator and I 100% want more of him. His tone is unique and his rasp is to die for!! I mean that rasp alone had me melting! He too had great inflection when voicing the different characters. I’m a sucker for a male narrator who doesn’t go over the top when voicing the female characters. He changed just enough to let us know when he was voicing a female character but didn’t go so high that it was unbelievable. Also listening to Noah B Perez be Ethan and his son, Oliver, gave me all the warm and fuzzies! Both of the Narrators did a phenomenal job with this book and I would highly recommend giving this book a listen!

A fantastic enemies-to-lovers filled with banter and spice
RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 STEAM: 🔥🔥🔥.5 A courtyard is not enough to separate Amelia and Ethan's egos and animosity. It separates their offices but does little to stop them from going back and forth to bicker and antagonize each other. Their professions don't exactly help, either. Amelia is a couple's therapist who tries to resolve relationship issues, while Ethan represents what she is trying to avoid: a divorce lawyer. While they certainly bring out the worse in each other, it is not only the thing that emerges and grows from every interaction. There is suppressed attraction that is ready to implode between them, and when it does, I hope you have a fan ready because it is hot, hot, HOT. You would think that after the roller coaster Harlow James took us on with Never Say Never, I would be emotionally ready for Book Two of the Ladies Who Brunch series. It turns out that I was wrong. Oh, so wrong. This is my second Harlow James book, and I think what I've come to love about her writing and her series is that the male main characters in her books initially come off as these cold meanies. Then she takes us on a journey to understand what brought this one and to enjoy the wonderful character development they undergo to help find their HEA. Don't get me wrong! I also adore each and every one of the ladies in the Brunch series. Each of their different personalities brings something to their brunch table, and they complement each other really well. Also, everyone could use a great friend like Penelope who will level up any prank. Book Two can definitely be read as a standalone. We get to see Charlotte and Damien again, but James provides enough context to understand their history. If you like a good banter-filled enemies-to-lovers read, I highly recommend this book.
