The insanity of death and destruction is captured in this author's writing style
Until you live it, it's nearly impossible to convey in meaningful words for the reading audience to understand. Yet this author is a master in his wordcraft, as he easily assimilates you into the insanity of unchecked and dark forces almost suffocating you in its madness. I suspect the unimaginable darkness has been inspired by similar life experiences the author survived as a combatant in Afghanistan & Iraq. I've had the distinct pleasure of reading all of his books. Finding them all to be riveting, genuinely honest and revealing of the dark forces that exist. Terminal Objective is by far his best.

    Terminal Objective is the sixth and final book of the American Mercenary series. It must be read in order. I believe there is a spin-off or follow-up series.

    This series was totally AWESOME. There is a ton of fast-paced action, a plethora of eerily real combat scenarios and a main character who is doomed to lose everyone he loves, every time. Until, beyond all obvious possibilities, he successfully achieves his objectives and the mission ends.

    I would absolutely recommend this book to any adult due to mature content. I look forward to reading the next series!

    The David Rivers Thriller series has ended with Book 6. Overall, it's a solid series with plenty of action, twists, and jaw-dropping reveals to keep readers engaged.

    The main character, David Rivers, is a mixed bag of characteristics and flaws. He's an alcoholic in denial, not very brain smart, unhinged and emotional at times, mentally unstable, afflicted with chronic suicidal ideation, and in many ways, a follower, not leader.

    He presents as a cognitive wanderer initially, and then through emotional chaos and voids, he creates self-imposed purposes while physically wandering between battle zones and battle missions.

    Author Jason Kasper has written a series that is engaging and, at times, riveting. I recommend the series.

I was at times shocked, stunned, in tears, chuckling and cheering! By the last page I was satisfied. Satisfied with the whole series and especially with David Rivers. I am so proud of him! He is like a real person to me. I admire him, warts and all. (Note that it is CRITICAL that the American Mercenary books be read in order! They are all on Kindle Unlimited so you can read them for far less than outright purchase.) Mr. Kaspar, I will make a deal with you...you keep writing and I will keep reading! WIN-WIN!

    I love this latest chapter of David Rivers journey. His leadership skills are tested in ways that they've never been before as he tries to command people who aren't used to operating in military style ways. I do suggest you read this series in release order for maximum thrill and enjoyment, and be prepared to struggle to find a good stopping point if you need to put it down. And with this last book, it really comes full circle, as we see more of those characters from the first books who we forgot about because of everything happening to David all over the world.
