    Every time I order a Blake Pierce book (I read all of his series) I have to sit with it for a few days until I know I have the time to read it straight through- these are not books to read a chapter or two and then put it down for another time. Got my chance today when the office was closed (Columbus Day-thank you Chris!) and a terrible thunderstorm raging outside. Took my opportunity and read Once Lost straight through. It was heart stopping, the best yet in the Riley Paige series. There must be some flaw in me but I love Shane Hatcher- like Sherlock's fans love Moriarity- there's something about a man (even a criminal) with superhuman powers that is compelling. I figured the killer out pretty quickly but who cares, it was great fun seeing Riley get the job done. That, and a great new (and hopefully continuing) character Jenn, ( but what will happen to Bill????) just lights the fire for the next book. Blake Pierce, please never stop!!! Thank you for giving me the best rain day ever!!.

    Loved this book until I got 3/4th of the way through it. By then it was plain to me who the killer was and I felt Riley should have figured it out by then. She's smarter than that! I will try one more from the series and see how it goes.

    Blake Pierce is a truly captivating writer. Every book that he writes keeps you enthralled until the last page. He writes so well that you love his characters in his works. I'm glad Bill is doing better I hope he joins Riley and Jenn on future cases. I'm also excited to see how Riley's relationship develops with Blaine and, I'm glad Shane Hatcher has been captured. I wonder what will become of the twisted relationship Riley has with Hatcher.

    I enjoyed the book very much although there were a few flaws and several typos. The biggest flaw was arresting a guy for murder and only later commenting on how they had searched the house. They didn’t let the reader in on what was or wasn’t found during the search. Seemed like a rush to end the book. The other flaw was Riley’s partner Bill having her boyfriend pick up the kids from school and take them to his house, with a notorious murderer possibly after them. Any FBI agent who would think the kids would be safe at a boyfriends house, should not be working for the FBI. Otherwise it was an enjoyable read.

    I have read every Blake Pierce book. I pre-order and it feels like Christmas when the new book shos up in my library!. Maybe because Riley was first series I read; it my favorite series. She feels like an old friend. I like the way her mid works. We are introduced to a new agent in this book. The author has done great analysis of her character. By end of book I still was not sure i should trust her. Book came at right time-recovering from hip replacement so makes it the perfect reason to sit and read the book on a day. Eager for the next one.
