- Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2018What a beautiful story co-written by two talented authors. Once I started in this historical DD/lg age-play story, I didn’t stop until I reached the end. The story has hope, new beginnings, and two people finding each other in a rather unconventional way.
When Cammie’s brother Robert knew that it was no longer safe for her to remain on the streets of London, he was taking her to a home to work as a scullery maid. When Miss Wickersham heard her cries, she came to her rescue. After she went into Miss Wickersham’s care, she never saw her brother again.
Orphaned Camellia, better known as Cammie, has lived for years at Talcott House under the tutorage of Miss Katrina Wickersham, where she has had a comfortable home, food, schooling, and training. Preparing her for life and marriage to be a Papa’s special little girl/wife.
Now she has word that she will have her very own husband/Papa, and he is coming in two days to get her. Lord Alexander Cavendish has known for years his propensity towards wanting a young woman of legal age to be his little girl wife. One where he could love, protect, and cherish, but who would call him Papa and submit to his correction and guidance.
The story will be the relationship of Lord Cavendish and his new bride, Cammie. There are times you can’t help but laugh out loud at the innocence of Cammie and the bold things she will say. While it may be unacceptable, especially in mixed company, it helps him realize as to how naïve and shelters she honestly is. He also explains, after her naughty behavior, what will happen and how she will be punished but also forgiven and cuddled.
“Your punishment will continue until I’m satisfied that you have indeed learned your lesson, little girl. Papa is in charge here, not you, young lady. You would do well to remember that.”
While the story does have several incidences, the punishments vary and include before she meets her Papa when she doesn’t listen to the nurse and also includes a medical exam that is explicit and for Cammie embarrassing, while also enlightening.
The story will come with just enough angst and adjustments, mostly for Cammie. While she isn’t what I would consider a brat, she isn’t without her faults and naughty disobedience that she brings about herself. The story is a wonderful historical daddy dom/little girl story that isn’t over the top with age-play and does have some explicit sex scenes. It is a story of two people having a connection and learning to trust and respect each other.
“Two hearts beating as one. Husband and wife. Papa and little girl.”
While there is no mention of this story possibly becoming a series, with some of the other girls that roomed with Cammie at Talcott House, I think the story could easily blend into a series with each story reading as a stand-alone. And this writing duo has just the perfect blend to make that happen.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2018In Regency England, certain things are taboo, especially if you're Lord Alexander Cavendish. He's tried the conventional. But balls and fetes don't meet his needs. His predilections are unacceptable to most. He knows he needs to produce an heir. But he can't force himself to accept anything less than what he absolutely needs. Enter Camellia "Cammie" Hughes. Rescued from a life on the streets of London by Miss Wickersham of Talcott House, she's gone from rags, hunger, fear, uncertainty and ever present danger to loving care, friendship, education, and kind supervision. Cammie's been given an education in etiquette, deportment, discipline, and how to be a lady. She's looking for a papa, someone to love and care for her little girl self, and to be her husband, things Talcott House is known for. Through pure happenstance, Alexander learns of Talcott House. Could this be what he's looking for? It seems quite improbable. Can he trust Ms. Wickersham? Are she and Talcott House reliable? Should he get his hopes up? His hopes have been dashed before. When Alexander meets Cammie, she has many of the qualities Alexander's looking for. But she's also willful, defiant, and disobedient. Can Alexander take this beautiful, innocent young lady in hand? She desperately wants to please him, be his bride, and his little girl too. Is it possible for Alexander to show her the joy and beauty of the Papa/little girl dynamic? It's a struggle for Cammie, even though she only wants to please her papa. Then fate places Cammie in a situation that literally tears her apart. Her loyalties pull her heart in two. She never could have anticipated this. At odds with Alexander and unable to tell him the truth, will this be the end of their future? The marriage is only getting started. Losing each other would devastate both. Just how far is Cammie willing to go to reconcile her past with her present? Can she find the strength to face both? Will Cammie find the inner strength and resolve to push past her fears? She'll have to if she wants to save her marriage and pull the past and future together into one world.
Sue Lyndon and Celeste Jones have written a delightful story of Regency England, the regimented society, the often intolerable circumstances, and the arbitrary rules imposed on every level. The descriptions of the aristocracy, as well as the middle-class and impoverished, are spot on. You can feel the vast chasm of difference between the classes. Those facts will break your heart. Cammie is an innocent in many ways, but she's delightful and, in many ways, is the focal point of the whole book. She has a way of jumping into your heart and making you feel her pain, fear, hopefulness, and utter disbelief at her circumstances. One might think Alexander would be a typical upper class bore who cares only about himself to the exclusion of all else. But that's as far from his character as can be. I found Alexander to be the other half of this story without which it would have been incomplete. Is he privileged? Oh yes! But he's sympathetic, loving, and charming in ways I never saw coming. This is most definitely an age-play story. As misunderstood as that dynamic is in today's society, as seen though the lens of Regency England, it's absolutely taboo. That's yet another hook Ms. Lyndon and Ms. Jones used to draw me into this book. It's utterly captivating! Congratulations, Ms. Lyndon and Ms. Jones, for writing such a unique look into Regency England and a riveting peek into the lives of unconventional people and relationships in an era where things are rarely what they seem.
One final note. Be an informed reader! This is an ADULT book. It contains little explicit language but there are sexual scenes. If you don't enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and Amazon. Use these resources. DON'T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON'T ENJOY THE BOOK. It's not fair to the authors. They work very hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you'll object to the book's subject matter before you buy it, you're doing yourself and the authors an extreme disservice.
Thanks for reading my review and happy reading
- Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2019Ok story. I didn't care for the heroine at all
- Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2018Cammie has been given the opportunity of a life time. Miss Wickersham has found her a husband and papa to call her own but Cammie is worried that he will come to tire of her or she will do something that will cause him to not want her. Lord Alexander Cavendish has been looking for the right woman for him. He is eccentric and wants a little/wife all his own. Someone to spoil, love, and care for. Cammie is perfect. He will be teacher as well as husband and papa.
This is a sweet historical story. Miss Wickersham is a really kind hearted woman and has saved a great deal of girls from the streets. She wants them to be placed in homes of men that are not only going to be loving husbands but care for and nurture each woman that fits them. You have to love that. Cammie and all her friends are women that have no true knowledge of what it means to be a wife or little but want to find a man that will love them. Heck I wish there was a Talcott House. Sounds like they do all the research and find you the best man for you. Cammie and Alex are so suited. And Cammie’s innocence at times does drive Alex boiling with sexual frustration in the very beginning. But learning is the fun part. It's when she spots her brother that things take a slight turn. I cried for her and how she felt. But thank goodness things got resolved. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, Papa’s Desire.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2020Lord Cavendish and Cammie set the pages on fire in this story. She gets into trouble on their first meeting, setting precedence for their life together. Good story if you like age play. Not sure I do. Kinda creepy thinking of a grown man treating his wife like a child at any juncture.

4.0 out of 5 stars Unsure of what it means to be a wife she's prepared to be the best little girl her new papa could ever have
This book is about a young orphan girl who is taken in by a kind older lady. At Talcott House these wayward girls are trained to be proper ladies so that they can some day meet their proper husbands. Cammie has always dreamed of having a Papa and husband, the one man who would take care of her forever. When she's to be married to Lord Cavendish she's excited and nervous. Unsure of what it means to be a wife she's prepared to be the best little girl her new papa could ever have. As for being his wife, she'll soon learn how to do so by following his rules or find herself over his knee for a sound spanking.
