Enemy number one.
Renowned playboy.
The guy standing between me and my dream job.

Otherwise known as my ex.

Colin James walked out on me in college without a second look back, breaking my heart.

How do I manage to land my dream job with the one guy on the planet that I can’t stand?

We were hot and heavy in college. We were everything to each other. And now? Now we can’t stand to be in the same room together.

But when I’m called to help rehab his image, I do it with a smile on my face because I need this job. It’s all I’ve ever wanted.

Every time we’re together, past hurts start to fade. The chemistry we had in college? Still as explosive as ever.

Can we move on together? Or will this be the end of everything we’ve both ever wanted?

Reformed Playboy DOES Have a Heart of Gold!

Reformed Playboy DOES Have a Heart of Gold!
“‘You like stats, so let me give you some stats on our relationship… I’ve been in love with you for seven years. Since the moment I laid eyes on you. Every second of every minute of every hour of every day. For seven damn years... My favorite thing was holding your hand. Is holding your hand. I always wanted to be connected to you… I love you, Rocky... Without a doubt, you’re the best catch I’ve ever made.’ A watery laugh escapes. ‘A little cheesy, don’t you think?’” 🏈 This second book in the series didn’t start off as strong because we are really supposed to hate Playboy Colin (Emily, you do a good job with that). BUT, when we really get to know Colin, the one Peyton loved all those years ago, then it’s easy to see the redeemable man behind the “player” mask. There’s a bit of mystery in this story because we have to find out what happened five years ago that drove them apart, plus we get to see some extra fun around Denver as Colin is on his PR tour to rehab his image. Not gonna lie, I wasn’t so sure about Colin. I mean, he was really shaping up to be the a**hole playboy and I didn’t think he deserved a love story... but Emily led us down a path to completely turn it on its head. Not only was that all an act, but Colin is TOTALLY lovable. He gets nervous about impressing children, gets super gooey at puppies (I mean, who wouldn’t?), and he can turn on the charm when necessary. Overall, this book was super cute and I really liked it. Plus, Colin’s POV when talking about his love of football spoke directly to me. There just is something about football that gets me excited, makes me feel at home, and gets me amped. Then hearing about how much Peyton’s love of the game grew throughout her life to the point of making that world her career? There’s not a lot of space for women in this world, but Peyton found her niche and I admire her for that. And, on a side note, can we just take a second to talk about the scenes with Darlene? Colin and the team participate in one of those charity date auctions. So when another teammate’s grandma bid (and won) on Colin, the scenes we get with their interactions are *chef’s kiss* GOLDEN! I couldn’t stop giggling... especially when Knox got really uncomfortable. But be warned, bingo is a dangerous game! 😆

I adore both an enemies to lovers and a second chance romance so Pass Interference was a perfect quick read. I loved seeing Colin clean up his playboy ways and do whatever he could to have another chance with Peyton. Peyton was also a fantastic character who was hardworking and competent. While the miscommunication trope kept them from reconciling initially, it was deeply satisfying when they resolved their past. In audio, I knew this would be a treat with fantastic performances from Rose Dioro and Teddy Hamilton. They always give it their all in emotional, steamy, and dramatic scenes, and Pass Interference was no exception. Each time I read this series, I fall even harder for the guys on the Denver Mountain Lions team.

When Colin takes his playboy ways one step too far, he’s ordered to clean up his act. Peyton, the new intern and also his ex from college, is put in charge of his image rehabilitation by his agent. He never forgot her and sets out to win her back. Still hurt by the past, Peyton is not as willing to give things a second chance. But with the help of an adorable puppy, as they spend more time together, they begin to rekindle their love but until they resolve their past, they won’t have a future.

While I kept thinking to myself, just talk about the past and your breakup, I enjoyed the slow burn romance. The story is cute and sweet, and it has a puppy too. Colin and Peyton have great banter which kept the story light, and fun and also just the right amount of steam. Plus we get even more ribbing by the team that was a highlight for me in Roughing the Kicker. I enjoyed how it all came together in the end so these two could get their HEA. This was a fun read and I’m looking forward to the next Mountain Lion to fall in love.

I’m a sucker for second-chance romances, and this one does not disappoint. Peyton shows up in Colin’s life again at exactly the right time! Immediately sparks fly and they start questioning why they ever broke up. Can’t wait for the next book in this series!

I’m a sucker for a good sports romance and this second book in the Denver Mountain Lions series was definitely that. I especially loved the scenes on the field and in the locker room.

Colin was the playboy of the NFL until a bad hookup is splashed across the headlines and it’s time for him to clean up his act or give up his dream as the star wide receiver for the Denver Mountain Lions. Little does he know, cleaning up his act will put him right in the path of the only woman he’s ever loved, and the one who got away. Peyton is tasked with cleaning up Colin’s reputation in her new job as an intern for his agent. Peyton and Colin have both been holding on to past hurts for the last five years and being forced together only brings all those long lost feelings back to the surface. But can they make it this second time around without either of them losing their jobs?

Colin and Peyton had a lot to work out. Neither had gotten over their feelings, but both had moved on in different ways. Colin became a playboy to guard himself against ever falling again and Peyton all but gave up on the dreams they shared in favor of putting her career first. There was so much fire between them and even though they claimed to hate each other they really struggled to fight their chemistry. When they get back together, they are determined to make it work and not let anything come between them again. I loved Colin’s complete turnaround from playboy to devoted boyfriend.

This was a quick read for me that was very lighthearted. Colin and Peyton’s chemistry was off the charts and I loved them together.

    Angst level: 💔

After leaving each other on bad terms, Peyton and Colin both lost the love of their lives in each other. And they have not seen or spoken to each other in years. Now they come face to face and have to work together to fix Colin’s playboy reputation. Which proves to be a hard task in itself, but the fact that they are both still in absolute love with each other makes things 100 times harder.
The two of them get closer together as they are with each other all the time and the feelings and familiarity of their love comes to a head. What will happen when the truths of their past come out? Will they be able to get back to that love that they once had, or will they be doomed from their new beginning?

The audiobook of this is fantastic! Teddy Hamilton is the perfect voice for any professional athlete book that I have read, and he embodied all that is Colin. I could feel all of the feelings that Peyton was having through Rose’s narration and I loved it.

Can’t wait to read/listen to other books in this world!

As a lover of all things romance, I really enjoy a good sports romance, even though I’m a huge hockey fan, football would have to be my second favourite. This story whilst a little bit predictable was well worth the read & has me keen to read more from Emily.

I loved this second chance romance! I loved the tension and unresolved past issues between them both but when they see each other again the sparks are still there and there is no denying there chemistry even though Peyton tries to resist! I'm excited for the next book in the series. Ps How could I forget mentioning Waffles the cute adorable lab!
